In street shoes, I wear a 7-7.5M (rarely an 8). In Sansha soft shoes, I wear a 7. In Gaynor pointe shoes, I wear an 8. In Bloch canvas ("performa"), a size 5B fits well, though the pre-attached elastics on that style are very uncomfortable for high arches. I ordered these because I really liked the leather/canvas hybrid, but, unfortunately, they didn't fit me well. The pre-sewn elastics were better fitting on high arches than the Bloch performa, but overall this shoe was too long and narrow for me. I think they will work best for narrow feet with tapered toes. In this shoe, width B is actually narrow whereas B is medium in my other Bloch shoes so maybe size up on the width and size down on the length for these. Though my other ballet slippers from Bloch are a size 5B, I ordered these in a 4.5B, 4C, and 4D after reading reviews. 4.5 was way too long and pretty narrow. 4C and 4D were tight in the length and pretty snug overall, but might've stretched enough. I don't normally wear wide shoes, but the 4D was probably the most comfortable, but they didn't feel great and they didn't look great on my feet. Maybe I'm just between sizes? There was a lot of excess fabric when pointing that I haven't experienced in other soft shoes.

Order two sizes down from street size - The instructions say to order three sizes smaller than one's street size, but that's too small. These shoes run only two sizes smaller than street size, not three. In both shoes, the insole near the toes came loose right away, before the shoes were even broken in (before I had even sewn on the elastic). The width of the front part of the wide size felt good, but the heel was too wide. Most ballerinas do not need the heel to be wide.

Not quite what I was looking for - There is no way that this ballet slipper would have stayed on my foot without sewing in the included elastic strap. :-(

Ordered these for my 7 year old daughter’s ballet technique class. Her foot is almost 21cm long with a somewhat narrow heel but otherwise average width. She typically wears a size 2 in street shoes. I ordered her a 2.5B and they fit great. A little bit of room at the toe but not as much as she would have in a regular shoe. The top elastics are pre-sewn on at the arch and the elastic ribbon tightened easily and was long enough for us to tie and cut to custom fit her. She is able to flex her foot easily in these and says they’re comfortable throughout her whole class.

I'm in love! I wear size 8.5W & going by other reviews, ordered the size 6C & 6.5CThe size 6 is perfect for me (2.5 sizes smaller than street shoes). This is just-right snug for my beginning adult ballet (I was a student in my teens & returning at 50!) but not so tight as to require breaking in. As others have said, someone wanting to stretch/break in for completely form-fitting should order 3 sizes smaller than street shoe size. I probably would have even liked a 5.5, but I don't want to send these beauties back. They look & feel very high quality. Elastic were sewn in perfectly. And Zappos amazes again; I received my order in less than 24 hours.

the sizing of this is weird. I would not size down, size 6 fits regular street size 6, size 3.5 fitted women's 5.5,,,so i guess, up to certains size it's a youth sizing, meaning women have to size down 2 sizes, but at size 6 it's definitely at regular point. Hope it helps. And having to sew in the elastic parts was a negative part of this shoe

These ballet flats are sized differently from street shoes, as other reviewers have noted. My workout shoes are a size 10, so I ordered an 8 1/2 in these and the fit is perfect. They aren't really meant to provide arch support, so I wouldn't expect that. These are just what I needed for my ballet DVD workout.

I ordered three pairs of ballet slippers, in order to take my first ballet class in over 30 years! Figured I needed something fun in captivity. I had forgotten what size I wore, so I followed the advice in other reviews and ordered these 2 - 2 1/2 sizes down. That was perfect (I normally wear an 8 or 8 1/2, got these in 6, which with light socks fits fine. If I was wearing tights, I'd possibly even want a 5 1/2. The other styles I ordered were the Capezio Daisy (too big and bunchy, didn't hug my foot, and the leather was too stiff) and the Block Odette. The Odette might have been good if they'd had a 6, but the 6 1/2 was too big. Also, I really like the arch detail on the Hybrid; it makes for more foot flexibility, and makes my point look more defined. I've worn them for 4 zoom classes so far, and they have broken in very well. I really like that the crossed elastic straps are already sewn in. They are more expensive than the others, but well worth it.

According to Bloch size chart for this ballet shoe, the fit was true to size. My daughter where's a 7.5-8 street shoe and the 5.5 narrow (her foot is narrow), fit perfect. I believe Bloch says to size down 2-2.5 sizes from street shoe

Great fit, perfect for ballet class

My daughter loves these shoes and they are good quality, but I completely disagree with the recommendation to size down 3 sizes for these ballet shoes. I did and my daughter could not even get her foot in them. I know they are supposed to be form-fitting, but she could not even get one on. Her street shoe is a 7, so I ordered this in a 7 and although it's a pinch big, I don't feel I'll have to buy yet another pair before the recital in June.

Purchased a size 7 for my 14 year old. She normally wears a size 9 in Converse. She’s been wearing these to class each week for 4 months now and other than having to restitch an elastic that came loose a few weeks ago, they’re still going strong! Would definitely buy again.

Just a bit of extra space at the end next to her big toe but otherwise a perfect fit. She’s been wearing these for class every week for 4 months now. I was confused about the recommendation to size down. My daughter was wearing a 1.5D in the kids version of this shoe which is the largest kid size. The smallest size in the adult version is 2 and Bloch recommends sizing down. I'm glad I went ahead and ordered the shoe in size 2D. It is about 1/2 size larger than kids 1.5D. I'm thinking they mean size down from Women's, but if you are a kid wear your street size. If you have wide feet, these are the best!

These ballet shoes were a purchase for my budding ballerina, age 6. They fit well. The elastic drawstring tightens effectively and is easy to tuck in without irritating the top of her foot. The elastic straps just need a little turning around after the shoe is on but once aligned properly, they comfortably keep her foot in place inside the shoe. I like that no cutting and sewing are required as the straps come attached and very well positioned crisscrossing from the middle and back of the shoe near the heal. The leather is a little thin, but soft and supple--very suitable for our purposes. The first pair held up well during the entire year or so she was able to fit them, without much evidence of wear and tear. We like them so much that we've just sized up so we're on our second pair of them.

After reading the reviews, I ordered two sizes smaller than my street shoe size and they fit perfectly. This is a lovely soft shoe, that wraps around the arch nicely and fits well; it also has two elastic bands criss crossed which helps the fit and to keep the show secure.

My street-shoe size is 7.5, this sz.5 fits nicely.

This style was recommended by my daughter's instructor (split sole, canvas). Sent instructor a link asking for approval and she thought they were fantastic. My daughter has rather narrow feet, but these are great (ordered narrow). Follow instructions for ordering size: she normally wears 7..5-8 and we ordered the size 6 B (narrow medium) and they are perfect. My daughter has always been one of those kids who was bothered by tags; things too tight or too loose. She is 13 and starting Foundations in Ballet with a progressive dance school and loves these!

Well made. Straps already sewn on. I am a size 8 street shoe. Purchased a 5.5. They fit quite snug, but will loosen with a little wear. Still, I might go with a 6 next time.
