Although I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this long time favorite tennis shoe when I bought it last year, I am ordering another pair today.
They have the best heel support for my foot.
The quality is nothing like the original Tretorn, no terry lining, thin canvas, thin laces and they did not old up well and I need to order a half size up.
But for my 79 year old feet they still give me the best support for walking.

Tretorn, I am so sad! I wore Tretorns for years and was thrilled to learn they were being sold again after disappearing for years.
Sadly, these are not the same wonderful shoes I loved years ago. Gone is the wonderful padding and "walking on cloud" like feeling. The soles are hard and offer no arch support. The canvas and laces appear to be made of lesser quality material. Just opening the box gave me an awful "this was made in China" using lesser quality materials. I would have gladly paid $20 more for the style sold in the 1980's which was a far superior product.
Sending these back.

After reading the negative comments, I still decided to purchase these sneakers as I loved them as a kid and wore them all the time. Unfortunately, the reviews were accurate. They are cheaply
made with no padding. If you want a basic canvas sneaker with no frills, then this is for you but I own many much more comfortable casual shoes/sneakers that I would wear over these.

I have worn Tretorn tennis shoes for many, many years and thoroughly enjoyed every pair. I think I have every color combo they made. The latest pair I received today are such a disappointment, I am returning them. The quality is just not there any longer. They are really an equivalent of a "Keds" and no longer have the terrycloth lining or the padding in the soles that the shoe has historically had. The "white/white" was really an ecru/funky beige color.

I wasn\'t very impressed with this shoe. I found the inside of the upper to be a little rough, and it was also a bit cramped in the toes. Maybe someone with narrower feet than mine might find it to be more comfortable.

These are not the same as the "old school" Tretorns we remember despite the outside appearance. They don t have the same padding on the insoles or the tongue or the same cloth interior. They remind me more of upscale Keds. Do they still make the "classic" Tretorn tennis shoe? This is not the same thing. I was truly disappointed.

Tretorns not the same. Bought a pair to replace my long loved Tretorns. The new ones came and the fabric is thin. These are a watered down version of my old ones. Won't buy them anymore.

Tretorn - not the shoe I remember -
After not being able to buy Tretorn’s at local stores in a few years, I was excited to purchase a pair through Zappos. However, when the shoes arrived, they were not at all the same quality I had been used to. The fabric is much thinner on the uppers and the laces are thin and useless. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of the shoe. While they look the same at first glance, the quality has deteriorated over the years. I am returning this product.

TRETORN SNEAKERS -
They feel so flimsy as compared to the same product from years back. There feels to be no support. I would not purchase them again.

NOT THE SAME TRETORN -
They have changed the Tretorns. The OLD Tretorns where a thicker canvas and not as long and narrow looking a sneaker. I am disappointed. I had hoped to recapture some of my youth with a new pair of Tretorns. They are going back tomorrow.

I immediately returned them due to yellowing "white" color. One if them also had a stain. I was very disappointed.

I was so excited to have a pair of the shoes I loved as a teenager only to be disappointed that they are not at all the quality they once were. With no terry padding and only a thin layer of canvas, they do not look or feel like the Tretorns we wore back in the day. So sad.

These shoes bear no resemblance to the original Tretorns and in fact to call them that is an embarrassment. The quality is poor and as is the construction and materials used. I was so happy to find Tretorns but was so disappointed with the quality that I am sending them back.

I have been trying to order my 4th pair of Tretorn (all originally purchased on Zappos) because I loved my first three. I've now ordered two seemingly identical 7.5 women's shoes and both of them are badly mis-sized so I've had to return both. Hoping the third time is a charm! My rating is based on this current issue, not my overall prior satisfaction of the shoe.

Was so hoping for the shoe of my youth-sadly these were the exact opposite, cheaply made, thin material, no terry lining and not half as comfortable. It seems nothing has quality anymore - sadly returned - not Zappos fault - they are awesome - just not a quality shoe like it used to be.

I have worn Tretorns since the 1970s and love them. They do run a wee bit small, especially after washing. Seem to shrink lengthwise. I ordered a half size up this time. Instead of a 7, got 7.5, and they fit great. Can't wait to wear them! Quite happy with Deep Peacock color. Like the Peacoat Navy as well, such a classic, but please get other fun colors! Yellow, red, orange, green, bright blue. Thank you, Zappos!

I am very disappointed in the changes that 25 years has brought to these shoes. They are extremely cheaply made. They are going back. I am stunned at how these were outstanding quality shoes years ago, and there is nothing to them today.

I grew up wearing Tretorns and man, have they changed! I decided to step back and get a little retro (back to my HS days), but these are definitely not the same sneakers. The fabric is thin and flimsy and also doesn't look nice and white, rather grayish or yellowed. There is no padding around the heel, it is as thin as an old pair of Keds.

I just received my Tretorns the other day. They were exactly what I expected, only because I had read the previous reviews so I didn't get my hopes up. I agree with those reviews that this version of the shoe is not nearly as nice as the originals were in the 70s and 80s. The material is flimsy, they are not as padded as they used to be and even the laces are skimpy. But there are no better alternatives out there. And they are comfortable for what they are. But they are over-priced for what they are.

I grew up wearing Tretorns, and this shoe is not the same. Runs a little larger than the original, probably because they left out the famous terry lining and generous padding. This shoe is going back. I'm soo disappointed. Another good thing from days gone ruined. Ugh.

The canvas upper is NOT a BRIGHT white, like the "old school" version - it is a dingier white than the shoelaces AND rubber bottom. I ordered some from Lands End, and sent them back due to the (dis)coloration. Shame on Tretorn!

Quality of the materials are not the same quality of my previous pairs of Tretorn. I have loved this style of Tretorn since they first became famous as the tennis shoes professional players wore. We are talking 45 years of quality shoes. Until now.....

I wore these sneakers a lot in the 1980s and loved them. This new "Tretorn" may look like the sneaker from the 80s but "appearance" and certainly not fit is the only way that the new sneaker resembles the original. This model lacks the wonderful padding and support; the fabric is cheap and flimsy and there is little foot support, in my opinion. Prediction: if the company produced an actual quality duplicate of the original at a more premium price, its loyal customers would line up in droves!

Alas, Tretorns will never be same again. Certainly looked like the usual in the photo, but upon receipt, I was extremely disappointed in the quality. No cushioning whatsoever anymore; felt just like a Keds pair of sneaker. Very comfortable and lightweight, but I have little hope they\'ll stand up to the years of rough wear and washing that I\'m used to getting from Tretorns. Another classic bites the dust.
