I have worn these shoes for 30 years like most of the reviewers... They have gone downhill. They are now made overseas (my 10 year old ones were made in the Philippines) and are NOWHERE near as comfortable as they used to be. Sad because they were solo comfortable before and now … well ... I sent them back … sad, sad, and sad.

Since I wore these growing up, and loved them even into early adulthood, I've been buying them for my ten year old daughter. They add a classic touch to a school uniform that you can't spruce up much. I reordered my first pair in about 15 years, and received them today. I was severely disappointed at the lack of quality and the cheap appearance. They fit smaller as well. I had read the same complaints before ordering, but because my daughter's pair had been exactly as I'd remembered, I chose to order anyway. The terry cloth lining is gone. There is no cushion, and the shoestrings were cheap and too short. The color was a dingy white, as well. Worse than being disappointed, I'm sad. Seeing my daughter wear hers brings back many fond memories. I seriously doubt anyone will wear these as religiously as I did for any length of time. They are terrible! Tretorn should be ashamed!!!

Not the Tretorn I remember - These Tretorn’s are very uncomfortable. They seem bigger than size 9. And there is a big bump that rides over my toes. Very bummed!

Foot winked in MA - I have been wearing Tretorns for over 30 years and these certainly don't feel or look like any Tretorns I've ever had in the past. They are extremely stiff and very uncomfortable. As far as I'm concerned they are unwearable. They really don't feel or look like the real thing.

I got my first pair in the fall of '73, freshman year of college. From a very small town in NC, I had never seen them. Sooo comfy day 1 back in '73, didn't need to break them in. I wore them all day for first time 2 days ago and no achy feet, but they weren't super comfy. I also noticed the loss of padding on the sides. I bought them because of the memories of comfort, classic minimalist style, and nostalgia. I'm a bit sad in the loss of padding thus 'ok' comfy, but not bad so I'm keeping them. They withstood a day of house hunting. That's a real test! I had purchased a half size larger based on the reviews said they felt half size smaller and I'm glad I did. I have room for socks if I choose to wear and no worries. I also remember one of my old pair got dried and that was a huge mistake. So I recommend even if you order 1/2 size larger not to dry your canvas Tretorns. Let them air dry in the sun or near the heat duct, but not the clothes dryer. Give them a try 'white sneakers are trendy this summer' ('16) and if you don't like them, this is Zappos. The easiest online store to deal with!

The best and only shoe I'll ever wear. They go with everything and are extremely comfy no need to break them in all all their already set to go straight out of the box. Their built extremely well and last a long time. These are a must buy for everyone.

Love, love love these cute sneakers. A throwback to my childhood! No support whatsoever so if you are actually looking for shoes to play tennis in these are NOT for you. They are super comfy, though, and great for hanging out, walking around, etc. Another plus is that you can throw em in the washer when they get gross.

For some reason, the photos of the men's version of the Nylite in white shoes a dull grey version and the women's looks much whiter. I converted the 8.5 mens to a 10 womens, and I received a very white version in a perfect fit.

Runs small, I had to send it back for a bigger size but after I got the fit right I am very happy with the shoe. I had a pair some 20 years ago. love that these keep coming back in style.

Have worn these every summer for years--always have a new clean pair on hand and an old dirty pair for messy days in the yard.

Love my Tretorns! I wore these a lot in the '80s. Recently, I've had trouble finding "basic" tennis shoes. Suddenly I remember Tretorns and was thrilled to see that they were still made. These are classic. They run a little small to wear with socks. But I planned to wear mine without. So my normal 7.5 fits just fine. They wash easily, and look great. They even have more support than I remember, which is nice now that I am older. I've gotten many compliments since I've been wearing them around.

I have worn this shoe since the 1980's. It always fit perfectly. Now, they have changed it so that it is very wide, and no longer fits. I cannot understand the rationale behind this change.

Comfort and style, love this sneaker. I was afraid it might be a little "old lady" since a lot of the reviewers said they have been wearing it since the seventies, but no such thing, it's a flattering and very stylish sneaker perfect for city walking.

Tretorn has been a favorite of mine for years and the are the original originals. Still super cushioned inside and fit true to size. I just wish I could keep them as white as they are out of the box!

I love these shoes. I ordered a half size larger after reading the reviews and I would've been fine had I ordered my usual size. I wouldn't say they run small. And I have wide feet. Mine are fairly loose on me. But not so terrible that I'd bother to return them. I love them. I actually get compliments on them, mostly from people remembering Tretorns back in the day, but even from people who have no idea. I think it's a bonus that I never see anyone else wearing them, although my son said his friend has a pair so perhaps they're making a comeback.

I wore Tretorns as a kid and when I could no longer stand the smell of my daughter's Chucks I searched for a sweat wicking shoe. I remembered Tretorn fondly and tried them. She loves them, they are comfortable (and she is picky) and the don't smell. She now has two pair.

I love these shoes. I am hard to fit as one foot is larger than other. They are so comfortable. I had the same shoe before and had hard time funding it. I had worn my old one out. A heavy leather is very uncomfortable/that is my email address. My old one adelhia.

You will never buy another pair of basic white skippy sneakers again once you try these! They are very cute and very comfortable. The canvas is slightly an off white color with a pink accent. They run very true to size. They have a low profile around the ankle, which I love. The sneakers are well made with a slimmer look (not clunky). These sneakers are perfect!

As per the other reviews, I ordered up half size and were too big. They are true to size and feel 13 again.

Just like the Tretorns of my youth. Durable, washable, but run slightly large. Not enough to size down.

These are classics. I have worn Tretorns for years. This style is comfortable and the canvas material is durable but not heavy to wear. My wish is to see this style in one or two more color choices.

I am a bit disappointed with my new Tretorn sneakers. The are not the quality of previous Tretorn's I have owned. Thinner fabric, the heal cushioning is much thinner and I have had trouble adjusting the tongue of the sneaker. My older Tretorn canvas sneakers fit much better and the quality of the canvas was much better. In the future, I doubt I will buy another pair.

I love love my new tretorns. Perfect for knocking around and the color is awesome. Comfortable from the first wear.

I wore Tretorns in 7th grade. Then they disappeared. I was so glad to find them again. I have tried others and always go back to these. I wish they would sell them in leather again.
