I have had these babies for at least 5 years and they are still going strong. I wear them for everything: kayaking, beach days, boat trips, running errands, going to class. Man, I have played a game of pickup soccer in these shoes and I am still impressed with their performance just walking through puddles. Clearly they are unbelievably durable if they can withstand my life. If these shoes ever go out on me, I will probably mourn them for a bit and then buy the same exact pair, same exact color. These Sperry's are not a want, they are a need.

I'm normally an 8.5 or a 9. I decided to order an 8.5 because I figured they would stretch if they're too tight. When I received my purchase, they seemed way too big. (My foot would come out entirely when I walked.) I returned them, and I ordered an 8. I didn't think the 8.5's were that much bigger, but the 8's were still too big. I'm currently waiting to get 7.5's in the mail. Regardless of the size, I really love these shoes! I can't wait until I find the perfect fit. I can already tell I'm going to wear these the majority of the fall.

I have had many pairs of sperrys, but these ran a size small and pretty narrow. However, when I finally got the right size, they were cute and super versatile. 10/10 would recommend.

I don't know why Sperry doesn't advertise how to break boat shoes in properly. The trick is to submerge your feet in water the first time you wear them (make sure the shoe is completely soaked). Wear them for the rest of the day and they will mold perfectly to your feet going forward! I only had slight discomfort on the first day and now they are the most comfortable shoes I own. The 20 people on the waterfront at my yacht club are required to wear leather boat shoes and we are instructed to break them in using this method. In addition, the sizing runs narrow but the wide fit me perfectly and doesn't look bulky like some other brands that offer a wide shoe. I am normally an 8.5 but went down to 8 because the shoe does stretch a bit (it does not shrink!) so if you're on the fence then size down. Make sure you google different ways to tie the laces there are some neat tutorials available. Fan for life!

I love tHe style and the material, but you really need to break them in or else theyre really a pain on the back of your heel!
