My first disappointment with Sperry. The material is not leather - I have no idea what it is and is already showing signs of wear. The picture made it look like it wasn't the regular lacing which is one of the reasons I bought them. I have problems lacing shoes because my left arm and hand is disabled. Really disappointed in this shoe and I own at least 30 pairs of Sperry boat shoes.

The quality of Sperry shoes is suffering. This is the second pair I have ordered where the sole is cheap and causes my feet to hurt. The entire shoe (upper and lower) is made of thin material. Very disappointed!

The boat shoes are way to narrow! I actually order a 1/2 size up to hopefully account for all the reviews that cited shoes being to narrow and that was not enough.

Had to return these shoes that are so beautiful. The ankle is too loose on this style of shoe for my narrow foot. I have always been able to purchase the medium widths with Sperry's, but not this shoe.

Worst shoe ever purchased. My daughter wore these to school for two weeks and she loved them. But, then the material started shredding and she had a huge hole in the shoe. What a waste of money! They get one star because you can't give 0 stars!

When I found these boat shoes in the black glitter, I thought they were perfect, until I recieved them and wore them. I literally wore them two times and the material at the stictching tore and I had a hole on the top portion of the shoe after wearing them twice. I thought maybe it was a fluke and I wrote to zappos and they were so nice enough to send me a second pair, but the same thing happened again only after wearing for the 1st time. Bottom line- I don't think the glitter boat shoes are made of good quality. I would stick to leather, so I bought the black leather with the purple bottoms! Sperry's overall are great and the fit to me run slightly larger, but I always order my true size and I'm ok.

I have been buying this shoe since the late '80's. Sperry used to make a comfortable, durable shoe that lasted for years. However, the last three pairs that I bought have fallen apart, faster each time. They now use very poor materials. The sole material wears faster and separates from the shoe; the last pair separated in under 6 months of moderate wear. I used to love these things, but I will never buy another.

If you have wide feet, don't even bother. The wide width is most definitely not wide, and you will waste your time sending them back and buying something else.

The shoe is ugly, proportioned wrong in relation to the classic shape. Its toe end is too slim and pointy. The color of the sole is different than pictured, and is a dark brown that is considerably darker than the upper. I wanted the classic but seem to have received something designed without an understanding of the tradition!

I read so many positive things about these shoes that I quickly ordered them. But when I got them I was very disappointed. The lining inside the shoe, along the sides had several folds in it that rubbed my feet the second I put them on. I'm returning them.

I already had a pair of the same shoes but in a different color. The inside of the shoe has a very rough label that is annoying to wear when barefoot. I didn't have this problem with my other pair, but I bought those at a shoe store where I could try them on. I wouldn't buy these again and am very disappointed.

This is the fifth pair of boat shoes I have owned over the years, they last a long time. I have always bought Sperry for their style and comfort. They always look good with casual clothes and right for most occasions.

I thought I was ordering the usual leather, but this shoe is so soft!! It immediately conformed to my foot. I love them!! (I am a Sperry hoarder. lol)

In a world where everything changes, the Sperry classic boat shoe has remained the same. I appreciate the same great attention to detail, the same workmanship, the same color, and most importantly, the same adjustable fit! Sperry boat shoes hit my feet and ankles just right allowing me to wear them all day, everyday. Thank you, Sperry and keep up the good work!

I've been wearing Sperry boat shoes since 1980, from when I first started working foredeck in yacht racing. I keep an extra pair reserved that doesn't go off-boat so as not to damage decks, but they're my alternative to loafers & driving shoes.

For the past 35 years I have always had a pair of navy blue authentic original Sperrys in my wardrobe. I can't imagine life without them they simply meet my life's activities. And they last! 35 years is really only 5 pairs. Thanks for still being available:)

I bought my usual size and width, which were fine. As others have said, they are a bit stiff when you first start wearing them. There was one spot on the left shoe that rubbed on the inside of my foot. After wearing them for a week, the rubbing became less. Overall, I really like the look of these shoes. They would look nice wearing them with just about any pants or skirts. I bought the honey color. I am very happy with them.

I ordered a size 7 slim fit for my daughter. She first tried them on with a thicker sock sock and seemed too small but then switched to a thin sock and she's going to keep them. They should stretch out a little bit. She has very narrow feet. I think the 7.5 slim would be perfect. I read reviews before ordering so I would say don't size down, choose your shoe size for this one. The slim fit may fit a little different though.
