I sent the size 8 in black "leather" back because they were very large. I'm an 8-8.5 with a narrow heel. If I were to reorder I'd ask for a 7 but don't think I will because these are in reality an all plastic shoe.

Perfect Chucks. The leather is easy to keep the white pair I bought clean. Look great and feel true to size.

I have only had the shoes for a few weeks and I love these shoes! I selected a half size down from my regular size and they are a perfect fit! The material is nice and washable. The service from Zappos was the absolute best as always! when I order from them! FIVE STARS

I am a Converse freak. I have them in so many colors it is a joke in our house. But these leather ones are quickly becoming my favorites. They have the same styling and fit as all my other low top Chucks, but I love the fact that if I spill or get something on these, I can just take a cloth and wipe them down. I have wanted leather chucks for a while, so I am glad I found these to add to my collection. Converse always run big, these are no exception. If you already own some, get these in your regular converse size. If this pair would be your first, order 1/2 to 1 size down, and take note that if Zappos has them sized for men, women order approx. 2 sizes down. (Eg. Men's 8 equals woman's 6.)

This is a great website with amazing prices but I have been waiting so many months for my size to come in but it won't, or it just keeps selling out before I get to it.

Great shoe- sizing a little off- runs a little long and is not seriously narrow, but leans on the narrow side.

Hooray for my first pair of Chucks! Here are some pros & cons with info most people need: silly me believed the one review that said they ran true to size. They don’t. I wear an 8.5 or a 9 & bought the 9, which was way too big. After a lightning Zappos exchange, I had the 8.5 which fit much better. Let me say right now-I have knobby bunions. Most lace-up shoes press on them, causing terrible pain. These hurt my bunions, the tongues were uncomfortable, and the heels slipped. That’s why I knocked off a star. I ended up loosening the laces over the bunion area and lacing through the top holes. They are now very comfortable. In short, expect a break in period & experiment with the lacing. Thanks, Zappos!

These are true basketball shoes and would be great if they weren't too big. Note that for many women, the shoe will be too wide, given that it is sized for men as well. But my feet tend wide, so it was the length that got me. So large almost seems mis-sized.

I purchased a pair of black leather size 9 converse a 3 years ago. I ordered size 9 in white leather and 9 in canvas. both shoes are WAY TOO BIG. Converse has changed their sizing.

First of all, let me say that Zappos is THE place for buying shoes on line. Their service is amazing. Now on to the shoes. I got the black monochrome all leather. I usually wear a size 9 shoe but I had to return these shoes several times because the sizing on these Converse makes no sense. I eventually settled on a size 7 although it feels too tight in the width because the size 8 is too long. On the 8, my toe barely passes the rubber line. These leather shoes fit tighter than the canvas ones, so be prepared. I'm hoping they will become more comfortable with time. Otherwise, they look great and are otherwise comfortable save for the snugness in the width.

Still in good shape after 6 months. The rubber will separate slightly where the stripe ends at the base, but it seems not as much as the canvas has for me. The heel wore slightly on the inside. They work well with dressy slacks and jeans. Though, maybe not a full suit.

Fairly comfortable, with well-cushioned soles as you\'d expect in a sneaker, although not the kind of impact protection or arch support you\'d get in a real athletic shoe. I wear a 6.5 wide (women\'s) and have a high instep, and the 4.5 fit fairly well. The interior finishing could be better quality, but for the price, these are a good deal.

Recently I purchased a pair of Converse Monochrome (canvas black) sneakers. There are two points to address. Zappos service, and the sneakers. I do not know how they do it, but Zappos has an extraordinary customer service. They are attentive to requests, answer promptly, ship in no time (or so it seems), and have great prices. As for the Converse, I love the style, fit, and general look. I decided to take them with me on a recent foreign trip, and was very please with the shoes.

Wow these run huge. I have a very healthy and powerful size 11 to 11.5 size foot and the woman's 11 was at least an inch too long and my ankle and arch was swimming in the shoe. Prepare for some exchanges getting these right if you don't know your size.

This shoe runs very large. Plan on sizing down considerably. It is long and wide.

I'm really bummed out about these shoes. I love the look of them. However, I have small feet and ordered the smallest size available (size 5, a half size smaller than normal). I'm not sure if it's the pair I got, but the tongue sticks out almost an inch past the top of the shoe. It looks weird and worst of all, it's uncomfortable. I've been looking for all-white sneakers and I loved that these were in leather, but I'm sending them back.

These shoes are so cute, but I could only wear them about 15 min before my feet ant back started killing me. Luckily I had another pairs of shoes with me. I hadreturn them. If you already know chuck’s fit you and are comfortable, thesr are cute. If you’ve never worn chucks be forewarned that there is no arch support and, on me, the back of the shoe rubbed causing blisters.

Amazing shoes, just ran too short

I have been wanting these leather converse chuck taylor shoes for quite a while. I couldn't find them in my size, 6. Finally I saw these and decided to try the 5.5 based on some of the reviews. They fit perfectly!!. I put them on today right after they were delivered and I love them!! They are now in my dance bag, ready for me to dance in them next time I dance. I ordered a pair last week but the pair I got had lots of white hairs on and in them. I am somewhat allergic to cats and I am allergic to wool. My husband is even more allergic to cats than I am. I am guessing that someone tried on those shoes after walking around in a house full of cat hair and then returned the shoes. People, if you might return some shoes, wear clean socks!! I needed to exchange that pair for another pair. The person that helped me with the exchange was very helpful. He must have been the most helpful and nicest person I've ever encountered while exchanging something. The whole process was easy. Zappos deserves their good reputation!!!

The leather converse always hold up the best! Converse run true to size, but most people wear the wrong size shoe. I’ve been wearing these shoes for over 20 years. They’re amazing. Throw in an insole if you need support.
