First let me say the service from Zappos is outstanding, one day and I was in my new Birkenstocks!! I love the Florida style and the soft footbed is exceptional comfort!! I had a terrible accident and crushed an ankle, I now have problems finding shoes that will work with all my foot problems and for three years had not even had sandals as I wore tennis shoes through the entire summer, after many, many pairs of sandals not working out for me, hurting ankle daily it was suggested to me to try a pair Birkenstocks. Wow! The very first day I could tell a difference in my pain. I did have to slowly get used to them but after about a week at a couple of hours a day my foot pain is almost gone...This is my favorite style as they fit me the best and do not hurt my feet or ankle in any way! I wish I have found them three years ago but am thrilled to be back in sandals and so happy to have so much less foot pain!! Thank you so much for them and thank you again for the fast excellent service, I will be back for more Birkenstocks from Zappos!!

Florida Soft Footbed is Great! Just purchased the Florida Soft Footbed by Birkenstock from Zappos.com. I was looking for either the Florida or Arizona in black and ended up with the soft footbed because that was what was available and I couldn't find what I wanted locally. It was the first time I'd tried this type. They are wicked comfortable. I'm 8 months pregnant with twins and they have been a life saver. I wear them almost everyday (when I'm not wearing my old Birks!). I would definitely recommend them and I would definitely purchase another pair. Zappos.com was an incredible experience.

They even look and feel good after getting wet! Yes, I was at Universal Studios riding all the water rides and even got rained on, but my Birkies held up great. I have a VERY narrow foot so I have the buckles set as small as I can get them without pressing too hard against my foot. This is my very first pair of Birkies and I love them! I even got my husband a pair and myself a second pair of this same style. I hope Zappos continues to carry the Florida style or something very close to it.

Birkenstock fan - Thank you, Zappos! I received my Birkenstocks VERY quickly and they were as comfortable as I hoped they'd be. I ordered the "medium" width and they make my feet look a little wide... but hey... I guess that's just my wide feet!

Softer is even better! I've worn Birks since 1995...amazing shoes. I never had tried them until I broke my toe in 1995, and someone recommended them to me...they were a lifesaver and ever since I have only worn comfort shoes! I have many pairs of Birks and I was very curious about the soft footbed style. It didn't disappoint. It's really nice and comfy without being too cushy. Gives the same great support, etc. The Florida is also a new style for me, and looks more feminine than the Arizona, Zurich, etc. I'm very happy I tried it...I liked it! I hope they come out with more variety of styles in this softer footbed.

Very Very Comfortable - I bought a pair of the soft footbed in January and just purchased a pair for my Mom for Mother's Day.....they are the Most Comfortable Birkenstocks I have ever worn. You do not have to break them in, they fit soooo comfortable. I highly recommend the sandals to anyone!!!

Birkenstock's Forida - Three narrow straps seem to give a more graceful look on a large foot. (My size is 43) The soft footbed is extraordinarily comfortable.

No Orthotics - I wear orthotics with lace up shoes, but I can wear these Birks without pain!

No break-in time! It's been several years since I've purchased new Birks, and these are the best I've worn. I usually have to break them in before they're truly comfortable, but the soft foot bed makes this unnecessary. Love 'em.

Birkenstock lover - One of the best fitting, best looking, most comfortable Birkenstocks ever!

Very Comfortable and Stylish - I enjoy wearing these. The soft footbed is so comfortable. I will be looking for this type of footbed in the future. This sandal looks good for dress as well as casual.

These are great. I have worn Birkenstocks for more than 12 years because I have heel spurs, and they help with the pain. I found the soft footbed to be a delightful addition to sandal I would have bought anyway! I just wish Birkenstock offered more of a sandal selection in these same styles that did not include animal product.

Truly comfortable everyday walking sandals.

Soft footbed - I don't know why these are "new" as I have two pairs from the last two summers. Very, very comfortable for my middle aged and narrow foot. I'll get a new pair for this summer which seems months away.

I've been living in my Chacos, but I was tired of needing two hands to put on my sandals so I decided to try Birkenstocks. The Birkenstock footbeds are terrific - love the arch support – and I can slide into them. The leather on the Florida style was so stiff it was cutting into my toes. The Birko-flor pseudo-leather was better, but I still had a problem with the bottom strap. Finally I ordered the Mayari in stone Birko-flor. I can slide into them with no hands and they are very secure on my feet. Bravo!

The picture implies less toe hanging out. Well this sandal has full toe out, and then some. Geez Birk, you go to great 'lengths' to be so ugly and this time especially! My other Birkenstock shoes cover at least a half inch of my toes and that is what the picture shows here. I like the soft footbed, but not these. My old Birkenstock are looking better, until Birk can keep popular styles in stock, including sandals-past June. Even the soft footbed clogs are not re-stocked after 3 months anyway. I expect this is a Birk problem since Zappos has the and notify me if my size comes back email service? The soft footbed has been adjusted over the last 2 years, so now they are true to your usual Birkenstock size. I seem to be able to wear either a 37 or a 38 in Birkenstock sandals. Snug or not as snug! Narrow would be too narrow for my medium foot, the soft footbed changes the width-fit, to me anyway. Good luck!

I swore I would never own a pair of Birkenstock shoes because I thought they were so ugly. I even once heard Birkenstock shoes referred to as birth-control shoes for that reason! But due to the onset of foot pain (bunion and arch pain), I ordered a pair because I was desperate for alleviation. These shoes are incredible. Great arch support and plenty of healthy room for your toes to move around. The comfort bed is almost better than chocolate itself. I still think they're kind of ugly (4 stars) but I'll be ordering more soon.

"They squeak!" I have several other pair of Birks, both soft bed and regular sandals. This pair squeaks. None of my others had this problem. The size is a mystery to me too. I ordered the same size as before, but this left shoe seems a little shorter than my other pair of the same model.

Birkenstoks Forever - I get one new pair every year because they go everywhere so comfortably. I walk in them instead of sports shoes. The top leather didn't feel as soft on this pair, however.

The Soft Foot bed: How did we live without it? I've been wearing Birks almost exclusively since I was about 1993 (I do have some NB for exercising in). Since 1993, I've gotten married, comfortable, and rather fat, and had noticed that things like going down stairs were giving my knees trouble when I was wearing my Birks, but not in my NB. I thought it might have to do with Birks not having as much shock absorption, so when the soft foot bed came out, I was very interested. It's worth it too, these things are lovely to walk in. This pair has been the easiest to break in of all my Birks, and there in a noticeable difference in walking down stairs in these vs. my non-soft foot bed Birks. I hope they expand their soft foot bed line soon! My only gripe with buying Birks remains with majority of retailers who refuse to stock the "Regular" width because they think it's too wide and don't know anything about foot health or how Birks are supposed to fit. They are just in it for the fashion. So shallow and sad.

Very comfortable shoe - For my very flat foot, this foot bed provides great form and comfort. My only wish would be for a more snug side fit.

I've worn Birkenstocks (Arizona and Gizeh) for years, so figured I'd give Florida a try. The straps start at the same part of the toe box as the Arizonas, but since they are thinner the 1st strap allows more of your toe-length to be seen. (Sadly, I was hoping it would cover up more of my ugly toes, not less.) Also, the smaller straps strangely aren't as forgiving around bunions and whatnot. The strap hits exactly on my bunion at exactly the wrong place and since it's smaller in width, it digs into my foot at weird angles and just hurts. This is not a problem I have ever had with the wider-strapped Arizonas. I will say that the smaller straps do indeed make these shoes look a tiny bit nicer than the Arizonas, though not as nice as the Gizehs in my opinion. This was also my first ever pair of Birks in black, and I was pleasantly surprised that the black leather did indeed coordinate nicely with the brown cork footbed, even when wearing black clothing. I will be returning, however, because of my bunion issue.

I keep tripping in them! My sister raved about her pair of Birkis with the soft footbed, so I bought some, too. I've worn Birkis for years and liked them, but couldn't tell a difference with this footbed. Biggest problem is that I've tripped several times in them (fallen up the stairs once, and fell in the driveway last week...ouch!!), so now I won't wear them anymore. Maybe the Arizona straps are more secure.

Comfy, yes, but incredibly disappointed by misleading photo. If you're ordering Florida soft-bed cocoa nubuck and think you're going to get that great looking light tobacco color shown, you're not. Cocoa nubuck is the EXACT color shown with the Florida Habana oiled leather. Misleading is an understatement.
