Great walking shoes especially for Orthotics and Plantar Fac. I had to return 3 different size combinations due to the drastic size change in this shoe from the 991 version. I wear orthotics and if the fit is not just right then my foot slides around inside the shoe, making it feel like my shoes are too large. Thanks to Zappos and my ability to order with free shipping both ways, I finally found the right fit! Thanks Zappos for your total understanding for my situation!

Old favorite - I have worn this shoe for many years now and find it to be reliable in both fit and durability. I have tried other brands and keep coming back to this New Balance style. I wish I could get it in more than 2 color choices.

They stretch a bit... Having run into the problem of my New Balances stretching in the past I ordered a half size smaller than normal this time and it all worked out. The shoes were a tad too snug feeling at first, but feel perfect after a couple of workouts. Great shoe!

Greatest New Balance (for me) yet!! These shoes are incredible. I feel like I could walk forever in them. It amazes me every time I put them on what an obvious difference in the way they feel on my foot compared to my other New Balance shoes - I have worn New Balance shoes for 20 years - they have all been good, but these are great.

THE Best Service - This shoe fit fine - I was so glad to get a narrow as most sneakers do not come in narrow sizes. I haven't worn the shoes enough yet to give an honest review but so far, I love the way they feel. I do know that your service is THE BEST. I live 35 miles from the nearest UPS delivery station but still received my shoes "overnight" as advertised!

Women's New Balance W992 - Wonderful fit. Extremely comfortable. Really pretty. When it comes to athletic shoes, I'll wear nothing else.

NB 992 - Most comfortable tennis shoe ever and they look decent with jeans.

Just what I wanted - The sneakers were like the others I bought in the past. I walk a lot and therefore have bad feet. My orthotics fit perfectly inside and I am good to go.

Kudos to Zappos! I wish I had discovered them years ago. I will never buy another running shoe from anywhere else again. The 992 just hugs your foot in a comfortable, snuggly way. It runs true to size. I buy a half size larger because I am a distance runner and it heads off black and missing toe nails. The half size larger also provides room for an orthotic which these shoes do not require but I have always worn so it is "all in my head!" I always wear black; the shoes look sassy with all black...also with black and white.

New Balance - Customer service was excellent. The shoes are fine. I have had them before from a retail store, where I paid more than on your website.

"New" New Balance - It has the gel and the feel in the arch is different. My orthotics fit perfectly.

Active Mom - I am a New Balance shoe fan, normally wear a 7 in athletic shoes, even in the NB680 I currently have, however this shoe definitely runs a half size larger. I had to return for a 6.5 which I normally wear in a dress shoe. Hope this helps anyone deciding on a size issue. Can't wait to get the smaller size because I can tell that this shoe in a correct size will hug your foot, especially around the heel and ankle area.

Ideal Workout or All day wear - I was looking for a pair of shoes to kickstart my workout routine. These new balance shoes are great for running on the treadmill or just running around town. They are extremely comfortable even after inserting my custom orthotics as the toe box area is broad and adequately compensates for the orthotics.

New Balance Runners - I've used NB991's and NB992's for many years and it's the best fitting shoe for my foot. I have a medium width foot with a narrow heel and I can lace up my NB so it doesn't slip and it's very comfortable. It's the only tennis shoe I will wear!

Love This Shoe - Soooo comfortable, both my mom and sister are getting a pair. Quite a high price, but worth it.

No More Foot Pain! My Dr. recommended these shoes specifically for a condition I have called Plantar Fasciitis. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had. I ordered a 9 because I wear a 9, and they felt true to size right out of the box, and needed no breaking in. Perfect! I just came back from a week in Las Vegas, where we did ALOT of walking. I felt no foot or heel pain when I wore these shoes, and I was able to walk far longer and farther than I have in YEARS. I highly recommend these shoes to everyone and specifically to those who have Plantar Fasciitis.

Comfortable and cool - I broke these shoes in without and blisters or sore spots. I wear heels all week at work, and my NBs are a welcome sight on Saturday morning.

Comfortable sneaker - This shoe is great. It looks nice, has a great fit, and the size is perfect. A size 5 in women's shoes can be hard to come by but this shoe was perfect.

Zappos you are the bomb! All I have to say is that my shoes arrives and they were totally the wrong size. I was worried about having to return them because I had not ever ordered from Zappos before. Therefore I figured it would be a huge hassle. Not at all. The customer service was so awesome. They were on my return as quickly as I was. They even mailed me my replacement shoes in the right size before I had even mailed my return back. They overnighted them to me. I received a hand written thank you and an apology with a 15% discount for the inconvenience. Now all I have to say is that is some great customer service. I will never hesitate to order my shoes for me and my family from Zappos. I do not get that kind of customer service at fine department stores. Thanks Zappos!

These shoes are very comfortable, and did seem to help the recent knee pain I'd developed, thought I’m still sticking with the quad exercises!

Stability and comfort - These are extremely comfortable and stable shoes. I overpronate and these have been great for me although I think New Balance has a shoe (854? 845?) that they say corrects pronation even more. But for comfort, can't beat these. My second pair (had the 991 for a couple years). Try them, you will like them.

New Balance 992 - Love them. Very comfortable. I'm not a big sports shoe person but I've wanted these for quite some time and once I received them, I fell in love.

Great Shoe! My husband kept telling me to try this kind of shoe with an arch support but I have a hard time finding the right fit if the shoe has an arch. Since this type of shoe is new to me, I called Zappos and they helped me and suggested to get this shoe. I needed the shoes for a two week vacation. I hiked a lot, and this shoe never caused any problems. I wear a size 12 narrow, and these shoes don't make my feet look big. I really like the look of them. Zappos is the best!

992 fits differently from 991 - I wanted to buy another pair of 991s, but these were not available. The new model 992 was. Compared with the 991, the toe box is wider, the shoe runs more true to size (an 8.5 is fine with the 992; in the 991, I took a 9 because the fit was narrower). The arch support in the 992 is nothing compared to the 991. It doesn't matter, though, because I use Superfeet insoles in most of my shoes, and the 992 works beautifully with these.

The best running shoes ever - I have been buying these shoes over and over for the past 7 years, at least. Though the models have changed numbers - 990, 991 and now 992 - they remain the best running shoes (and shoes to cruise around in) I've ever been able to find. This is a very structured shoe that offers a lot of support and stability, and requires some break-in time. I have very flat feet, so I need to add a little extra arch support for comfort, but the average person will find them to be perfect as is. In most other shoes, I wear an 8.5, but these tend to run small, so I wear a 9.5. They also come in multiple widths. This is the first time that I have purchased the black/gray version (I usually buy the all gray) and am very happy with them, appearance-wise. If you're looking for a solid running shoe, you can't go wrong with these!
