I wanted to love 'em - I am a Dansko wear-er for several year now and have spent tons of money buying tons of Danskos. These Margretes are so cute, but unfortunately, I went through returning a couple of pairs as something in the trademark bendable foot bed, and every pair seemed to break free and squeak every time I walked on them. I couldn't deal with the squeak in them so finally just gave that final pair, barely worn, away. I haven't run into the inner-footbed-squeak in any other pair of Danskos I've owned and I would definitely recommend Danskos to anyone considering them, but maybe not this style.

The brown leather on the Margrete scuffed up the first day I wore them, and even if I polish the leather they show scuffs again with just one wear. The leather on one shoe is also a little different than the other - something I overlooked when I bought them, but now it's apparent that the leathers don't come from the same source because they have worn differently. The ankle straps also sheds these little strings that I have to keep pulling off and I've also almost worn through the strap that goes in the buckle. I've only had these shoes for 7 months, and they're already a mess. So much for Dansko quality!

Super comfy- These shoes are really comfortable. I stand on my feet all day and these are the best shoes I have found so far. They are also very cute in winter with tights or socks!

Need strange arches, plus too clunky - These shoes are clunky. But I wanted something a little dressier to go with skirts while walking 6 hours a day at Disney World. For that effect, they don't look TOO bad. (But my mother hated them, and she sort of laughs at my slim heeled pointy toed shoe obsession. She knows what not to wear, at least!) I read on a website that the Dansko clogs were the best shoes for Disney. Well, they were kind of comfy, but once I walked in them, the arches were very uncomfortable. My mom said that they were for her, too, and she has different arches (she likes Sketchers sneakers for her arches). I don't know whose arches these shoes ARE for!

OUCH!! Poorly finished on the inside of the shoe. A rough spot over my toe rubbed very badly. I was unable to even file the spot down. I am unable to wear these expensive shoes.

I basically love this shoe - I already owned a pair of the Margrete (size 40 in black nubuck) and have had them about 8 years- I walked all over London, New York in comfort, without blisters or foot tiredness. Alas, my old pair was looking a little worn and I decided to get a new pair. This time I ordered the next size up (41 in the black leather). I ended up keeping them but they are really too big for my size 9 1/2-10 feet. The size 40 actually fit better but my toes were touching the front of the shoe. But the next size up is actually much bigger and I don't think I'll be wearing them as much as my old ones. The support in the Dansko’s is unmatched by any other shoe I've tried (Mephisto, Merrell, Clarks, Born). Zappos is also a great place to order from.
