Very comfortable but sizing somewhat odd - Thank goodness for Zappos great shipping and return policies. I first ordered size 39 - the same as my Dansko Professionals - but these were very tight in the toe-bed and the straps. Strangely, the size 40s are quite large in both places. I'm keeping them nonetheless because I'm hoping they will be the perfect every-day shoes for an upcoming trip to India, but I'm somewhat disappointed in the weird sizing.

Look great but... I really tried to make these work, but the fit was odd. I had read that some had problems with the inner seam on the pinky toes rubbing and this was the case with one pair, so I tried another pair of the same size and it was better. The problem I could not get over was the strap sizing. The heel strap was too long on both pairs I tried, even though the 37 size footbed fit my foot, therefore my heel was allowed to sit over the edge of the back of the shoes. This could not be compensated for by tightening the front ankle strap. Also the front strap did not have enough holes (too tight). I have a high instep but not that high! I was bummed because these are very cute shoes and were quite comfortable if one could ignore the strap problem.

Not for narrow heels - I love this shoe! I really wanted it to fit... but I have a narrow heel and this shoe does not have a way to adjust the heel strap. The ankle strap had no effect at all on the strap for the heel. I actually went to a local retailer and tried on several more pair, hoping to find one with a smaller cut heel strap, but they were consistently too big. I am so bummed!

DM - Very comfortable - works well with some business suits and slacks.

Dansko Margrete - Took some time to get comfortable. My feet are just a little wide and that is what took time, the widening.

Very comfortable - These shoes are great, my only complaint being that they make a loud smacking noise when you walk if you're not wearing socks, like flip-flops. The rubber sole also makes an incredible racket on linoleum, as I found out while waiting for an oil change the other day. Apart from that, they feel great and don't need a breaking-in period.

Super comfy- doesn't feel like it has a high heel - I love how these shoes feel on my foot, plus they give me a couple of extra inches without feeling like I'm wearing heels. I am a teacher, and these shoes are comfortable enough to stand in all day. The style is a bit 1970's.

Comfortable and cute enough! I needed a pair of comfortable, brown summer shoes and these are fitting the bill nicely. They are not petite, obviously, but go with a lot and are so comfy.

Danskos are great! These are almost as comfortable as the Professionals, and probably come as close as a sandal can. The back strap is a bit loose, but that is taken care of by the adjustable front strap. I am picky about shoe fit, so gave this only four stars (as compared with the 5-star Professional) but really I think this shoe is going to work out well.

Dansko Margrete - I bought a pair of these, and while they look cute in the picture, they make my feet look like stumps - I wear an 8.5. I already wore them a couple of times, so it was too late to return them. They ARE very comfortable though. Oh well, live and learn.

Good tourist shoe - I have 7 pairs of Dansko pro clogs ... this is almost as good (not as much arch support). I have a high instep, so the cross strap is a bit tight and no room to spare for additional holes. Otherwise, a good walking shoe.

Cute and stylish - just what the others said in their reviews which is why I bought these...I love Dansko products...they never disappoint and for a woman with feet that get tired easily, these are a delight as are my 2 pair of clogs and 2 pair of summer sandals...the back strap is a tad loose but that is so w/ the sandals and the ankle strap handles that problem...wore them only 2 days and had numerous compliments...a woman friend who doesn't spend a lot of money on shoes is going to Zappos for her own pair!!!! I might like another color...and Zappos keeps it promise with on time delivery...

Comfy but not the dressiest shoe- I got the black version and wear it with dressy pants at my retail job- it is perfect for standing and walking all day on hard floors. I seem to be between a 37 and a 38 but have to go with the 38 as the 37 is too snug. As a result I have to really tighten the strap and my heel slides around a bit. It's not my favorite shoe but it is cute and wonderfully comfortable. My first choice was the Flora but that isn't available in my size in black anymore. This was my first order from Zappos and I have been nothing but impressed with them- they are the best!

Cute & comfy - I love the way these shoes look. They make my feet look smaller and cute. The only thing I don't like is the noise they make because my feet stick to the insides of the shoe. Possibly over time that will go away. They feel similar to Dansko clogs but very little slipping due to the strap.

Margrete Review - Love the look, but they're not as comfortable as I'd hoped. I even had to add an extra hole for the buckle! Overall, I'm fairly happy with them though.

The shoes that grew with rain... The only problem that I have with these shoes is that I got caught in the rain wearing them in Florida, and since then they are too big. My foot slides around in the shoe, but before the rain they fit wonderfully! Thanks Elizabeth Sinnott

Don't follow the recommendation to size down - My other Danskos are all size 40, and my other shoes are mostly 9s (with a handful of 9.5s), but I followed the recommendation to size down for the open back Margrete. When I first put them on, I was so seduced by the famous Dansko arch support (I have high arches) that I mostly ignored the upper part of the shoe, which felt tight nearly everywhere. Thinking they would be broken in after a couple of wearings, I kept them. It was only after I'd worn them outside and made them unreturnable that I realized I'll have to add a hole to the ankle strap to make these wearable in the long term. And they are Danskos, so I'm determined to make them work for me, because the purple Margrete is quite simply an adorable shoe. Looks great with jeans and skirts--and the Margrete's sole is lighter and more flexible than the closed-back Professional models. But if I decide to order the Margrete in different colors, I'll order the 40, not the 39. The 39 feels to my feet like an 8 or 8.5, not a 9.

Great Shoe - I wear Dansko's all the time. I find the fit and comfort to be outstanding. My only problem with this shoe is that is a little tight at the top when I first put them on. This loosened up by the second time I'd worn them.

Fit differs from Dansko Flora - I own the Dansko Flora, which is also on the stapled clog footbed, and the Flora fits fine. The Margrete I received seemed to be narrower across the front of the shoe and shorter in the toe than the Flora. Since Dansko is handmade, maybe the Flora that I own is bigger than the norm, but I have had problems with both Margrete and one other Dansko that I thought would fit like the Flora. Too bad, I really like the looks of the Margrete, but it had to go back since I wear a 42 and they don't come any larger.

Nice shoe but not good for wide feet - Cute shoe. I tried to wear it but it rubbed the sides of my feet and caused a great deal of pain. If you have narrow feet, order these. If you have medium to wider feet, skip this shoe.

Strap size mis-match - Length and width fit perfectly, but the top strap was very tight and the back heel strap was too loose. When my foot was correctly in place on the footbed (which is very comfortable), the heel strap didn't even touch the back of my heel. Disappointing!

Way too small - I love Dansko’s, but this shoe did not fit at all. Granted I have big feet, but I ordered both the 41 (11, which is my usual size) and the 42. The 41 was impossible to even put on; the 42 went on, but there is no way I would spend a day walking around in it. They also seemed narrower than most. The arch was well situated and supportive; the shoe is nicely made and cute. But, I had to return both pairs. Zappos, however, is absolutely the best in quality of shoes, pricing, and ease of return.

Cute but... I've had these for about six months and have been wearing them pretty regularly trying to break them in. They are great for my heel spurs, but the seams on the toe box hit right at my little toes and cause them to bleed every time I wear them - and I have narrow feet! I've resorted to wearing adhesive bandages on both little toes. I'm surprised that they haven't broken in yet, but the leather is very hard and stiff in that area, so my next step is taking them to the cobbler to see if they can do something about it. If it weren't for that, they would be perfect :(.

Adorable shoe - wish it were comfortable! I'm a regular size 8 with high arches - the 38 was too big and the 37 way too small. There isn't a whole lot of arch support for my type of foot. Clark's Joilette (?) has very good arch support as well as Finn Comfort Faro.

This shoe arrived today & I am very disappointed in the way the shoe fits across the large toe. It is short and rubs!!!! Unable to determine if this shoe will be comfortable but it has a clunky but nice look. Hopefully, the next size is not too wide.
