Best shoes in the world - This is the second pair of Dansko Margrete that I have owned. Ther first pair I wore walking all over Eastern Europe in great comfort and they still look great. They look feminine enough to wear with skirts yet are more comfortable than my athletic shoes. Color is much better than how it appears online. I became addicted to Dansko shoes while living in Colorado and it was easy to find them in stores in Denver; they are harder to find in stores in Nashville making Zappos a great option. Zappos has great service and selection.

Work shoe - I have had this shoe style for about ten years. They have been the most comfortable long lasting shoes I have ever purchased! I am an Occupational Therapist & have put many miles on these shoes in hospitals, nursing homes & schools. They recently have been falling apart and this is the 1st time I have seen them in this style again in quite a while. They are both casual & dressy. Best money I have ever spent on shoes!

The most comfortable shoes!!! These are the best shoes. I have 2 pairs of the Classic Clogs…and now 2 pairs of the Margrete’s. I like the Margrete’s better. Don’t get me wrong I still love my clogs but there is just something about these. Now, I did notice on other reviews that people had issues with the back strap being too big…well it will seem that way at first…I almost sent them back after I first tried them on. I decided to wear them for an entire day…and I fell in love. Even though the back strap feels too big the shoes move with you. Give them a chance and you will be in love too!

Great Shoes! I have several pairs of Dansko and I love every one!

Dansko's Margrete - I so wanted to love this shoe, but a couple of things prevent it from being perfect. The heel strap is completely useless. It is HUGE. It doesn't hold onto my heel at all. So, the only thing keeping the shoe on my foot is the adjustable strap over the top of the foot, but even with my narrow foot, it was too short/tight. Also, without socks, the stitching inside the shoe (over the pinkie toes) is rough and hurts. Otherwise, the foot bed and the construction are soft and very comfortable. Note: I wear an 8.5, and I first ordered a 39, but it felt too short. The 40 gave my toes more room. I'm sad to send this cute shoe back, but it just doesn't work for me!

Amazingly comfortable - I was given the Dansko Margrete shoe as a gift and have never experienced a more comfortable shoe. It has exceeded any expectations I had in a shoe. Thank you

I'm a teacher and I have a lot of trouble finding comfortable shoes that I can stand in all day. The first few times I wore these shoes, the edge of the front part (that covers the toes) cut into my feet a little; now, though, they fit perfectly. While the shoes aren't exactly high fashion, they definitely look cute and flatter my size 10 feet. I love them so much that I'm thinking of buying another pair in black.

Great, Comfortable, True To Size, Awesome walking shoes - I have gotten this same shoe in brown which is the picture but the new ones are black. I have had numerous compliments on their looks and also they are the best support for my foot ever. I have three pairs of Dansko. Love, Love, Love them. (I also have major foot problems but that's forgotten when I wear them).

Very satisfied - I am very pleased with Zappos. I purchased a pair of Dansko shoes about six years ago. I loved them. I was thrilled to see the Margrete which is almost identical to the pair I have. They arrived promptly and fit perfectly. I would recommend this store to anyone.

Walking in Wonderland - These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I have them in 3 colors, and if I could afford it, I would have them in every color that Dansko makes.

Heaven in a shoe! I can't believe how comfortable these shoes are. I don't think I'll ever wear another shoe. Really good arch support and stable foot bed. I normally wear a 7 1/2, sometimes an 8. The 38 fit me perfectly when I wear the shoes with trouser socks. I received them in less than 2 days after I ordered them from Zappos.

Always my favorites! I absolutely LOVE my Grape Latigo Margretes!! I am VERY sorry to see that this beautiful, versatile shade of eggplant is not offered here anymore. I hope they come back by the time I need to replace these!! They go with an amazing variety of colors. They compliment clothing styles from jeans to slacks & skirts. Not super dressy, but I guess (eyes rolling) I can wear some other shoes ONCE in a while. ;D I LIVE in my Margretes - barefoot in summer; socks in winter. And get compliments on them all the time. But the reason I wear them everywhere every day is the c-o-m-f-o-r-t. My expensive cross-trainer tennis shoes are not nearly as comfy. Neither are my suede flat Naturalizers. I'm gradually getting rid of all my other shoes - Clarks included - since these are really the only ones I wear!!! Thanks, Zappos for your fabulous service and incredibly wide selection!! PLEASE always keep Danskos in stock in small sizes - 35 and 36 - and in all colors. Y'all are my favorites!! Today I finally need to order some brown shoes - a little dressy. Also more clogs. No Margretes in 36!! :-( Roxy & Regina look great, but sounds like they will be too big for me since they don't come in 35. I'll try them anyway, just to see.

The cutest Danskos in my closet! I've had my eye on these for a year, and finally ordered them last month. I love, love, love these shoes! They are so much more feminine than my Dansko Professionals, but just as comfortable. They look great with jeans, and with patterned socks, a little bit of sock peeps out. I even wear them with skirts. I wear a 42 in Professionals and a 41 in Sonjas - I ended up with the 42 in the Margrete. The toe area is much snugger than other Dansko styles, but not tight at all. I really wish these came in dark brown on a black sole, and then I'd be buying another pair.

Overnight Sensation - Back in production after about 2 years of absence, I recently bought a pair in black. They became my favorite pair of shoes in one day. Cute with black tights and a pleated skirt. Without socks - fabulous, with socks - nirvana. Had to buy a full size larger than I normally wear, but who cares, the shoes are dynamite. If you're even vaguely considering them, do your feet a favor and get some today.

Works for every occasion - This Dansko style has more flair than the clog and goes great with pants, skirts, and capris. It is hard to find such a versatile style that is so cute. The strap took breaking into but overall a wonderful fit. I haven't taken the shoes off since I got them two weeks ago.

Great shoe -- glad it's available again! I was very happy to find the Margrete again, after it was discontinued for a few years. In the interim, I bought a replacement that looked the most like it -- both the original and the replacement fit great. One strange thing about the latest version of the Margrete (and I've tried on three different pairs) is that while the footbed fits just like the original, the heel strap is a little too big and I can almost walk out of them, especially with the right shoe. I am extremely happy with my experience with Zappos' sales and service.

Great, as usual - This is my umpteenth pair of Dansko’s. Die-hards know they brought this style back after being gone from the line-up. Thank goodness.

These are THE most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have them in black, but I don't care for the look of the two-tone ones (where the heel is a different color). Unlike my Dansko Professionals when I had to order a size up for them to fit, these ones were right on the money. I wear them tons with capris, skirts and pants. With an A-line skirt they have a very early-20th century feel which I love. I wear them with and without socks. They have the most comfortable foot bed of any shoes I've ever had. I can't say enough great things about them!

My last pair lasted since November 1999 - And they are still in good shape -- I just decided it was time to pass them along to Goodwill. These are the most versatile, comfortable shoes I've ever owned. The first day I wore them traipsing up and down hills delivering Meals on Wheels and felt like I was flying along! I love shoes and have Imelda amounts, but these remain my favorites, feet up!

Dansko's Fit My Wide Feet - I wear a 9-1/2 2E or 9-1/2 WW shoe and have bunions and ugly toes so open-toed shoes are not an option. I became intrigued with Danskos while viewing Zappos wonderful web site (never heard of them before), but felt I could never wear them because of my width. However, I did try on a pair of Dansko clogs at a specialty shoe store and found to my amazement that I could wear them. (The clerk had me get a size 41, which turned out to be a bit too long. The shoes did require some breaking in, however, for width.) My next step was to order a pair of Margrete’s in butterscotch in size 40 (size 10) from Zappos. I love them. They make my feet look smaller, and the shoes are really attractive. They're just the right kind of clunky to look so cute with capris, jeans, shorts and skirts long and short. The Margrete’s did require some breaking in because of my bunions. They have an excellent arch support. I was so pleased with them and I ordered a pair in brown, and these actually fit better because they're made a litter wider. I just ordered another pair in black and hope they fit as good as the brown ones. These shoes can be worn comfortably without socks or knee-highs or the little toe footies, which never fit right or stay in place. ONE BIG COMPLAINT -- for shoes this expensive, the manufacturer should have made the ankle strap a little longer with more holes for the buckle. The strap is much too tight even in the loosest hole, and I have a very narrow heal. My husband had to poke an extra hole in each strap. Zappos is the greatest way to browse among zillions of shoes, and the comments by others are a huge help. The service from Zappos couldn't be better. One request -- could Zappos get more wider width shoes from manufacturers. Example, I can get Easy Spirit in 2E or WW from catalogs, but they're not available from Zappos; and I'd rather buy from Zappos.

Margrete - I love Dansko’s; they are the only shoe I wear anymore. I bought the Margrete because my office in the summer has faulty air conditioning so I wear skirts almost every day and needed a closed toe sandal. These are great for that very purpose, but I feel they look a little goofy with skirts. I am willing to give the fashion sacrifice for comfort. They do require a little time to break in, but nothing that a few band-aides and a week can't fix. I wear them without socks and my feet don't stick, or become smelly which some leather sandals can do. Overall I'm really impressed with them; they are comfortable and easy to slide in and out of. After originally buying the black pair, I broke down and bought the brown one a few weeks later. Highly recommended.

Awesome Shoe - My number one requirement in a shoe is comfort and this sandal delivers. Do follow the recommendation and go down in size if you are between sizes (I'm usually an 8 1/2 (39Euro) but an 8 (38Euro) was the perfect size). They are a cute shoe, definitely in my style and I'll be looking to replace my other shoes with Danskos in the future. I can wear these sandals all day and my feet still feel great by the end - not a small feat, considering I spend 10 - 12 hours a day on my feet.

Great! I'm a huge fan of the Dansko Professional clogs for the comfort and thought I'd give these a try for a slightly dressier look (like with skirt and tights come fall.) I was hoping these would be just as comfy and they come very close. They have the same great arch support and overall I really like them and they're comfier than most shoes. That said, they're not quite as comfy as the regular clogs in the toe area - they seem to rub at the pinky toe just a bit. But, again, they're adorable and almost perfectly comfortable. Also, I believe that they will break in nicely with some wear.

The Margrete is one of my favorite shoes. I have them in the brown latigo (black sole), butterscotch, and black. They look so adorable with tights of various colors and designs. I like all kinds of shoes and used to wear heels and pointed toes. Now I am most interested in comfort although cuteness still matters. These fit the bill. If you were a 9M, order a 40 in your Dansko’s.
