I bought these shoes on a recommendation. After the break in period, these shoes are now very comfortable. I am used to shoes with a heel so this feels different when walking since the heel is very low. The shoes look great with jeans and are nice and casual.

Great experience. I had received a notice of the pair of shoes I wanted became available in my size and it was so easy to then place the order. Very easy process. By the way, I would like an exact pair of what I ordered again so if another comes up in my size I would do this all over again!.

NINJA SHOES - I love the feel of my new desert treks, I always joke with my kids how they cant here me walking and they love to laugh with me. Love the shoes but a bit ugly I will buy another pair tough. Very very comfortable and the service at Zappos is by far the best on the web.

A close second - My all time second favorite pair of Clarks true "classics". Second only behind a discontinued product offered by Clarks roughly 8 years ago. ("Urban Trek")Which are soon to be re-soled. These Desert Treks will serve you well for years. Purchase with vigor my friends you will not be disappointed. Great look and feel... may run a half size large. Have great confidence when purchasing from Zappos. Great customer service and care.

Nice shoe, but - I found the workmanship not up to the last pair of Clarks that I owned. There was a sloppy attachment of the sole to the rest of the shoe, and I found the shoe to be more narrow than expected. After 4 or 5 days this improved somewhat. I also had to go to an insert to have any type of arch support. I really like the plantation crepe sole and wish I could find more shoes with this feature.

I'm 17 years old again!!!! I had a pair of Trek's in college, circa 1971. I wore them until I was 45 years old in 1996 when they finally blew out. When I slipped on my new pair I closed my eyes and was back in school again. All is right in the world now.

Desert Trek - I love me some Clarks! They are very comfortable and stylish. You can dress 'em up or down. My ONLY complaint is that the traction is not the best when wet outside. This I find strange because Clarks is an English (England=Rainy) company. But overall, these shoes were a great buy.

The shoe design, no tongue, makes it difficult to put on. Once the shoe is on, it feels quite good. I would prefer that the inner sole not have a raised heel pad that is smaller than the overall heel width; it reduces the load distribution area and is initially uncomfortable.

Pleased overall - The shoe was pretty much what I saw in the picture with the exception that when I got the shoes, the leather looked a tad bit distressed and dry. I bought some Dr. Marten's wonder balsam from Journey's at the mall and applied a liberal coat--TWICE--to the shoes. They felt the slightest bit tighter than a 9 but it was more of a width than a length issue. I don't have a wide foot and have never had to buy wider than normal shoes. These are going to require some leather conditioning and some good, old-fashioned breaking in on my part. Overall I'm pleased though. I got exactly what I wanted.

Comfortable shoe- I have over 12 pairs of Clarks and these are one of my favorites. They grip your foot to where the comfort level when walking feels like you don’t have on any shoes.

Good stuff! I love the Desert Treks. They felt just a little snug when I first put them on...but, within minutes, they felt like I had owned them for years. I find them very comfortable...even if I spend a full day on my feet on a concrete floor. If you need a lot of arch support though...buy with caution.

Clarks Desert Trek - a classic - This very stylish, old-school (designed in the '60s?) shoe by Clarks is one of my favorites, though I've found the sole wears quickly at the heel, probably due to my rather flat feet. I use full orthotics and the inside of this shoe handles them well. Until recently these shoes were made in England, but my most recent pair was sourced in Viet Nam. The Vietnamese shoe looks and fits nearly identical to the British version. The very durable leather upper looks great.

Order After Order - After having ordered 6 different pairs of shoes and returning 4 of them I finally found a pair that fit a was durable at the same time. In the end, after all of the returns and reorders and mailing, the only cost to me was the price of the two pairs of shoes. You can't go wrong when you order shoes from these guys. Even delivery time was cut down to 2 days. I don't know how they do it, but I wish other companies that sell goods on the internet could figure it out like Zappos did!

This was my first experience with Clarks and I found them to be quite comfortable. The one problem I had with mine was the durability. The upper became unglued at the edge of the outsole. This allowed moisture to come into the shoe. I'm not sure if it's a widespread problem, but it did affect when I could wear the shoe.

'Beeswax Leather' color looks great - These shoes have a primitive, simple look that I like a lot. They even feel good without socks, as worn here in Florida. You might have to switch for a larger size, as they do seem a little narrow, although the length was fine. If you do, Zappos is the king of easy returns/exchanges. Maybe I just needed to break them in, as they seem to have stretched and are much more comfortable now after a week of wear. Desert Treks have those light-colored crepe soles that quickly get a "dirty" look, but that's no big deal to me. I love 'em and if you like the picture, you will, too.

Clarks - Great shoes. Tasty looking, and feel nice. I'm sure they will feel even better as I continue to wear them and break them in.

These shoes look great but are unfortunately very narrow. I had to send them back because the leather was rubbing against the sides of my feet. Zappos, as always, is great with returns.

Sharp shoe - This shoe looks sweet and the sole is super comfy and you can walk around quiet as a mouse. The upper leather though has been taking it's time breaking in. It cuts into my foot on the top where it bends as I step- making it uncomfortable when walking. I'm hoping it softens up as time goes on. Otherwise a nice looking shoe.

You can return if you don't like them - The shoes are pretty comfortable but they could be more comfortable. The inner bottom is pretty hard, no support, you may need to buy inserts for these. I think the more you wear them the better they get.

Kind of Deformed... I bought these for my husband because he loves the look of the shoe; however, one shoe was uncomfortable for him because it seemed to be a bit deformed. Now I realize these are hand-made, and not every shoe is identical, but this was actually hurting his foot. I was going to send them back, but before I had the chance, I caught him sporting his new, deformed Clarks anyway. I guess he's going to grin and bare it, so it must be tolerable.

Be careful about lack of arch support - I bought these shoes and loved them - very comfortable out of the box and I thought they looked great. Within a week, the top of my left foot hurt at the arch from the laces, and I had weird pains and cramps in both my arches from the lack of support. I am an athlete and have never had foot trouble before, so I was disappointed that these shoes were so problematic after only a week of regular use. Other reviews seem positive, and my friend had a pair in high school and liked them. I've been running regularly the last week and wearing sandals, and my pain has gone away, so I am sure these shoes caused it. They seem to be good shoes for most, but I would be a little wary.

Really bummed!! I absolutely love this shoe. So you might ask why I rated it so low. Last night I found the leather coming detached from the sole on both shoes in a number of locations. The shoes are only a few weeks old so this really is unacceptable. I thought for sure the shoes would hold up better. I happen to own an original pair from the 70's that were boxed up. Forgot I had them. Anyways I will be contacting Zappos to review my options. I hate to get rid of them and will probably try another pair before I give up. Who knows maybe I will even have a shoe repair place fix them. Really comfortable and look great. Just too bad quality control has fallen off!

They look like pixie shoes - I had to return the first pair because they were too small (yet I have two other Clarks the same size) finally when the second pair arrived, I unfortunately wore them one time and now I'm stuck with them. They still feel small. And I'm pretty disappointed.

Fell apart after a couple weeks - Used to be my go to shoe, I was on my third pair, but this time the leather came detached from the sole within two weeks after I bought them. The only thing holding them together was the stitching. Too bad, because I really love the style, but cannot ever trust that they will last more than a couple of weeks. What happened to Clarks, they used to be top notch quality?
