Sadly Surprised - These shoes look awesome, and with Clarks' excellent reputation I had the impression that they would be comfortable as well, wrong. It has one of the most annoying aspects in a shoe that I've ever experienced. The sole only extends 3/4 of the way down to the toe. I guess there was a good reason behind it, but it's completely unknown to me. And maybe the sole is going to wear down a little bit so it's more pleasant, but we'll have to see. But in the mean time, this shoe is not for me. As for Zappos, they were fine, but maybe I'll think twice about ordering a shoe online again.

Clarks' Desert Trek - The shoe fit narrow compared to other Clarks shoes I wear and the workmanship on this particular pair was lower than I expected and am accustomed to. There was a flaw on this pair: unraveling of stitching at the tongue. Unfortunately, I returned this pair.

These shoes have quickly turned into my favorite...ever! Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money and get the Beeswax Leather: looks great and feels great too. Be warned: the leather took about 10 days of solid wearing to break them in, but they gradually became more and more comfortable the more I wore them. The same can be said for the crepe sole. At first, it felt a little stiff. Now the crepe sole feels soft and springy. What else can I say? I love them! I want to wear them all the time! Great all around shoe.

Funny Shoe - I like this shoe. I get comments about how strange it looks. It doesn't hold-up on my feet to long but then I go through a lot of pairs of shoes.

Very Satisfied - I am very satisfied with my purchase. Not only did my order arrive the very next day at no additional charge, the shoes themselves are extremely comfortable. I have been looking for a casual & stylish pair of shoes, and these fit the mark. Great Job.

An excellent casual shoe - I live in the Midwest and just got a pair of these "Desert Trek" shoes at Journey's shoe store. I was looking for a replacement for my Dr. Marten's 1561-style shoe that I got about four years ago... I needed something that works for lots of weather conditions (snow, rain, ice, etc)... so I zeroed in on these and they fit the bill, and more-so! I like the leather quality more than the "Doc's" and the sole is just as comfortable, if not just altogether better. I've had a lot of positive feedback from friends... these are a classic look that are great with jeans or corduroys. I heartily recommend them!

Best shoe ever! This shoe is simple, stylish, and rugged. It has that old school 60's mod coolness that will never die. They can be worn all day long. They look great with jeans or khakis. Truly a timeless classic.

Future Clarks wearer and Zappos shopper - Clarks Desert Trek are the perfect shoe, you can wear them at work, on walks, shopping...etc. I even find myself with the shoes still on relaxing after work. Zappos customer service is great too, my operator even searched online to find another store with my size. I got mine a 1/2 size smaller than usual and they fit perfect.

Perfect Gift - I gave those shoes to my husband. He loves them. They fit him perfectly. They look great with anything and he wears them all the time. Great product! Thank you!

Sterling service from Zappos. When my first order was a half-size too big (not their fault), they shipped a replacement no-fuss. Zappos staff also actually knew about the product being shipped - unlike other online shoe vendors who were a couple of bucks cheaper, but didn’t inspire the same level of confidence.

Outstanding comfort - Bought my first pair of these almost 30 years ago and wore them out. Was never able to find them again until Zappos! Tried different "look-alikes", but they never came close to the originals. Bought these for the wife at the same time and she's never been happier with any shoes. They do require a short break-in more for the shoe to mold to your feet.

Treks - It's been too long. I wore these 30 years ago - and was pleased to find that they were still available. Nice quality, very soft and comfortable sole. Ordered a size larger than other shoes (13) after trying on a pair of 12 in a brick-and mortar store (too small, no larger in stock.) Good service and quick shipment leave me feeling that I will order again.

Don't hesitate... Great shoes, comfortable. All the reviews I read seem correct. They don't necessarily run large, but you should take precautions to make sure they fit right. A shoe to large will cause the leather tongue to fold and it may be very uncomfortable. They stretch with wear, but not significantly. You can't go wrong with the Desert Trek, and they will surely hold up.

Highly recommend these shoes for men and women - I absolutely love these shoes. They are as comfortable as they are good looking. Being a big fan of all types of shoes, these would be right up there at the top of my list of favorites.

Shoes were for my son-in-law. He had picked them out and was so please! He is 29 years old and has been wearing his last pair of Clarks like these since the EIGHTH GRADE!!! He was so excited to have a new pair. Your service was excellent, and I got them very quickly.

Great shoe, great fit, great price - So far so good...these shoes fit great, no break in period...I have a wide foot, so was worried about medium width, but they fit fine.

Amazing - I had been staring at these shoes for about a year and finally a good friend of mine made me try them on. I was instantly hooked. They initial break in period was about 2-3 days but after that they molded and never felt better. I have generally wide feet and the toebox is wonderful. I usually have to buy bigger shoes but these are the first ones where my feet spread naturally and I love the feel of walking bare foot.

Amazing - These shoes are simply the best looking and feeling boots I have ever worn. My Doc Martens don't compare (partly because I have a skinny foot and those slip on me). These fit and look perfect and they will just get better over time. I'm hooked. If only Clarks made other good looking shoes besides these and the Wallabees.

Great shoes - Love the Desert Treks, were a little hard at first and my feet got sore about a few hours being in them. But after a few days the crepe sole got softer and it seems the more I wear them the more comfortable they get. I do a lot of walking around the island and can’t seem to wear them out unlike other shoes (usually go through a pair in about 2 months). My feet get tired if I stand for long periods of time but as soon as I start walking again I am fine. I have put well over 1000 miles on them and they still look good, and have plenty of sole left. Thanks!!

This has got to be the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. I only recommend the oiled leather ones as the others just weren't the same. If you're really looking for comfortable shoes, try these. You'll love these shoes!

Awesome Shoes... My girlfriend's dad has always raved about Clarks. So I gave them a try. First off, the Beeswax leather is awesome. Second, the old school design of the shoe is sweet. I had some old Birkenstock shoes that had this classic 2-hole lace and thick stitching and I thought I would never be able to replace them when they came apart at the seams. But here I am rocking these comfortable Clarks. Buy them. Zappos is ridiculously awesome too. Price match rules. So does the shipping policy. Happing Buying.

Well made shoes - A classic well made shoe with no surprises. Quality leather and craftsmanship balance the timeless design of this product. I enjoy wearing theses shoes.
