Not so thrilled with Frye's quality control - I bought these boots after reading the reviews posted here. Upon opening the box, I discovered the leather on one of the toes was bunched up. An obvious defect. I also discovered clear silicon glue seeped out between the heel and the lower leather that would require trimming with a knife to remove. I am very disappointed at the factory quality control. Since Zappos has such a wonderful return policy, I will give another pair of Frye Boots a chance in hope this is an isolated incident.

I love these boots. I tried several different half boot and full boot variations, and thanks to Zappos easy return policy, was able to keep searching until I found these. Made in the USA, they fit like a glove, true to my normal shoe size and width. Easy to get in and out of due to soft leather upper and comfortable to walk in. they seem durable but I'll let you know after 10,000 miles or so I highly recommended.

The boots are everything hoped for. My purchase has provided comfort, and they are very nice looking. True leather, and people have remarked on the nice looking and particularly attractive boot.

First, the service from Zappos was incredible!! Shipped immediately and when I found out the boots were too large, they immediately sent me another pair the correct size. Can't ask for any better service and polite helpful personal!! The boots are American made and just beautiful! The first time I put them on, they were comfortable and after the last several weeks of wearing them 7 hours a day, they get more comfortable if that’s possible. The boots feel about a 1/4 size too large, but certainly tolerable since they don't make sizes in 1/4's. Thanks for the great service!

Frye Roper Boots - This is a very handsome dress boot that's also a sturdy work boot, without any gee-gaws or fancy details. The boots are very well-made, and might seem a little snug at first, but with wearing the leather stretches to fit the shape of your feet. My husband does historical re-enacting and museum interpretation, and we chose these boots for their classic 18th-19th century look. He started wearing his for work on the very first day, and by day's end, they were an absolutely perfect fit.

Just what I wanted. Excellent value. The boot is not lined, so if you wear those super thin Italian socks this is not the boot for you. Regular dress-sock thickness (and ticker), however, is fine. The Frye Jett is a glossy, lined version of the Roper. The Jett, however, has the boot loops inside, rather than on the top as the Roper does.

Great Boots - This is my second pair. I now have them in brown and black. I've had the brown for 6 years, and they look and feel better every time I put them on. If you like the classic, but conservative cowboy look, get these.

Great boots - These boots look great. They are made of high quality leather that is sturdy but comfortable. They have a great look which can be either dressy or casual. The only problem that I have with these is that they are somewhat narrow. The shoe runs a size smaller than it should so I needed to drop down a half size. When I did that, the width then makes them slightly uncomfortable. Aside from this, they are great boots and I would definitely recommend them!

A Hit! I got these for my boyfriend for his birthday. He loved them! They look real good, and are very versatile--you can go from casual to dressy with these. These are not too flashy-understated, but classy. Frye boots have never let me down. I highly recommend!

European Vacation - I recieved these boots right before I went to Europe and I brought them with me. Wearing a standard work boot socks, I walked the markets of Munich, the cobbled streets of Prague, the bustle of Budapest and the christmas markets of Vienna, VERY COMFY!! Not one complaint!!

City Boots - Stylish boots for the big city without the cowboy look. These boots are great to walk in, there was no break in time needed.

The best boots ever! These are by far the best boots I have ever owned. They are very comfortable and look great. Get them one-half size smaller and you will be good to go. The sevice and delivery at Zappos was first rate. Thank You!!

Unbelievable! I own a pair of these and I can't believe how comfortable they are. I usually find boots to be either too narrow feeling or too short feeling in the toe even if they are the correct size. But these caress my feet and don't crowd my toes. They felt 1/2 size larger than they truly are! I recommend highly.

Do I need to break 'em in? Beautiful boots. I ordered an 11 after trying a Frye engineer boot in that size at a shop. They do slide a tad and I have compensated with a thicker sock. I am nursing a blister right now (I walk a good deal and sort of used bad judgement!) and thinking these will be fabulous once I break em in. The styling can't be beat. Understated but masculine, tasteful and functional, especially if you roam in an urban context. The low heel is nice too, no horses out here.

Great functional boot - I had a pair of Frye boots years ago. Trend pushed me to a new pair for urban wear and I'm quite happy with function and style.

Perfect Boots - These are absolutely the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. A perfect fit.

Nice Boots But... It took the third pair of these boots to get one that did not have quality problems. I hope this was just an anomaly since Frye has had such a good reputation. Could not have asked for better service from Zappos staff. The boots did size like other comments mention, I usually wear a 9 in a boot, but 8.5 was a good fit. Am enjoying the boots.

Needs a wide category - Was not true to size. I was sorry that a "made in USA" product didn't work.

I love these boots. They are very well made and were comfortable almost right away. They did feel a little larger than my normal 13 but it was only about a half a size. Zappos shipping was top notch, they were here in only one day.

GREAT all-around boot! I bought these for my son who has tremendous difficulty finding footwear following a fractured ankle with plates & screws inside. I held my breath these would work and they are a miracle! Super good looking with jeans and casual dress alike. Frye is still the quality that I remember from my youth. Fit is true to size and they are easy to pull off and on, even with a bum leg. Zappos is the VERY BEST Company for trying shoes when you have trouble with fit. Returns are a breeze. Customer service is SUPER. I truly love them! I have bought SO many shoes here and wherever I go around the globe, I get compliments on my shoes. Once I tell them about the shoes I never fail to say that I bought them through zappos.com. You might say that I am an unofficial ambassador of Zappos!

Good boots - I was very impressed with the service provided by Zappos. I had been looking for a pair of boots for a week or so and could never find just what I wanted - Zappos had them and these Frye’s were exactly what I wanted. They came the next day with a no-cost return guarantee - better than I would have gotten at a local shoe store, if I could have found one with this model.
