Good shoe, but it's too big! When I bought this shoe I was wearing thick socks and it fit well. When I started wearing it around, it stretched out more - so I have to wear two pairs of socks when wearing it! I am usually a 10-10.5; I bought a 10 and it's now much too big. My advice is that everyone size down when buying this shoe! Other than that, it's a great looking shoe. It can get uncomfortable after an hour or so because of the high heel and lack of padding on the ball of your foot. I recommend this shoe, with some reservations!

I get so many compliments - I adore these boots. Every single time I wear them, at least one person (usually more) comments on how gorgeous they are. They don't start to feel uncomfortable until I've spent at least 5 hours on my feet without a break. No picture will show you just how wonderful they will look, so you just have to buy them and try them on.

Best boots ever - I love these boots to death! After just a few months of wear (about three times a week) the heel stitching popped on both boots and I had to get it repaired. Otherwise these are fantastic quality and pretty comfortable. I recommend getting gel inserts for the ball of the foot, they're not uncomfortable per se, but it's a pretty sizeable heel and after a day of wear the impact from walking kind of adds up. Side note - I don't think the photos are an accurate depiction of the dark brown color on this site. Right now the antique gold is swapped with dark brown and their photo for dark brown is lighter than my pair.

Best boots ever! I normally don't buy boots this expensive, but I had lusted for these ever since I saw them in Lucky magazine. Finally bought and I am so glad I did! Everywhere I go, girls stop me and ask where I got them. My boyfriend always notices girls are staring at my boots when we go out. Another reviewer mentioned that she plans her outfits around these boots and I have to admit to doing the same. I wear them every weekend while walking around the city and they are pretty darn comfortable. I truly love them and plan on having them forever!

Frye Villager Lace ups - WOW! That pretty much sums it up! I have shopped for and bought boots all season, but NONE like these. If I would have found these first, I wouldn't have bought another boot (except the Frye Campus Laceups!) These are AMAZING! They are so well made and sturdy. They look fabulous and feel great too. I usually wear between a 9.5 and a 10 and I got these in an 8.5. They fit very well. Not too big, not too tight. Love them. Well worth every penny spent. I don't have a use for all the others boots I bought since I don't want to take these off and they go with everything!! I was a little nervous spending the money on these, but have no regrets now that they are on my feet. These Frye's now make all the others that I thought were nice, look cheap. Definitely order a half size smaller if not a whole size. Thanks Zappos for excellent customer service. Ordered late in the evening and had them a day and a half later! Could have bought these elsewhere for a little less, but would have had to pay the shipping which would have made the boot actually cost more. And I would have had to wait much longer to receive them. Zappos did it for free and in a day! Would love to purchase these in a different color as well since I know I will have them for many years to come. Maybe the espresso so I could wear them when I wear a black skirt or sweater.

Frye Villager Lace boots - Due to a small defect, I needed to return the first pair of boots that I ordered and found your services very professional and satisfactory and your customer service people very pleasant. My new boots came to me within a few days! These Frye boots are very comfortable and I love the distressed look of the leather. People who like this style of boot say how much they love them and ask where did you get them, when they see the boots on me. I'm hoping these boots wear just as well as the Frye boots I had in the late 1970's and just recently had to remove from my possession! Thank you for a great product.

Great boots! Comfortable and quite stylish.

The best lace-up boots ever! I absolutely love these boots! I wish I could afford a pair in every color available. The craftsmanship is incredible and gorgeous. I really like the distressed leather look and the sturdiness of the heel. I love the height. But the best part is that they don't make my toes feel numb at the end of the day (even though I'm on my feet all day)...They are definitely worth the price! Just make sure to get a smaller size than you normally wear. (I have a wide foot, yet I still went from an 8 1/2 to a 7 1/2, and can still wear thick socks.)

Gorgeous boots! I bought these boots in "antique gold" and they are just gorgeous. I love them! I did go down a half size (and still have plenty of room, which is good, since I like to wear thick tights).

Frye Villager Lace - Awesome boots. This is my fourth pair of Frye’s. Good quality and classic looks, the boots will last forever. They are very sturdy and well made boots. Many Frye styles tend to run large; I always order a half size down. Villager Lace is a unique, gorgeous boot and I always receive compliments when I wear them.

Frye boots - These boots are very comfortable despite having a high heel. They have a beautiful look, thanks to the shadings in the buttery soft leather and the lacing. I am very satisfied and would recommend this purchase.

OMG!!! These are sexy! They run one full size big though - I wear size 8, ordered 7.5 and they were sill too big, I had to send them back and get 7 instead, which are great. Ladies, get the insoles right away before wearing them or you are going to hurt your feet. The balance is comfy though.

The best - The best fit, make, comfort, looks, aged look is so nice, width is great, adjustable for the leg, and chunky heel allows comfort even with the 3 inch height... Someday I would like Frye to come out with a boot like this with a 2 inch heel...they would not be able to keep it in stock, ever!!!

My favorite new boots! This is a great boot! My only very small complaint is the side zip; I'd prefer lace up only. (For those of us with a wider leg). I saw the Villager Lace boots on some clothing models and knew I had to have a pair. Zappos had the best price and the best return policy just in case they didn't fit.

Super stylish - I love this boot! It is gorgeous and so up-to-the-minute in style. The leather has a very rustic, beautiful, natural look -- and scrapes and scuffs will show immediately with everyday wear lending to its perfect "workboot leather" look, but the thick leather very high quality darkens and becomes softer over time to mold perfectly to your foot and leg. The leather is just like Daddy's old work boots. The heel is high giving a great look with both prairie skirts and jeans, but as with any very high heel it can't be worn with great comfort for hours on end for standing or walking. I would suggest getting a half size smaller than your regular boot size -- I frequently buy 8 1/2 and occasionally 9 and the 8 was perfect. If you plan on wearing for walking or standing I might stick with your regular size and get a full gel insert to increase the comfort of these boots. WARNING!!! -- Do not buy these boots unless you are prepared to accept constant attention and compliments from everyone who sees them on you! I saw these boots unadvertised but modeled in the Cabi catalog and HAD to find out what they were and where to buy them. I am 100% thrilled to have them and to know that I got them from Zappos, which is THE BEST place to buy shoes in the world. Buy the boots -- you'll love them too.

LOVE MY BOOTS - I just love these boots; the color, the fit and they look so great. I’m very skinny and every time I try to buy boots they look very big and loose But this one fit just perfect and received them in a few days from placing order. Was so fast I wouldn't think twice about buying from Zappos they look exactly as described.

Fantastic boots! I just got these today, and they are absolutely fabulous! I have been wearing them around the house for the last few hours (just to break them in a little bit), and they are already feeling more comfortable--especially for a 3-inch heel! My feet aren't pinched at all, my heels aren't going numb, and I very RARELY wear heels. I'm used to Converse All-Stars and ballet flats... So, I was a little nervous about the heel, but I have absolutely zero complaints! I ordered Frye Campus boots and although beautiful, they weren't quite my style. (A little too tom-boyish). Wanted to try this Villager to compare (and with Zappos, comparing couldn't be easier)! These are GORGEOUS and feminine! I usually wear a 7 1/2, ordered a 7, and they're perfect. As others have said, adorable with skinny jeans and skirts alike. Expertly crafted, as well. I believe these will last me a LONG time! Wouldn't change a thing.

Amazing boots! I love, love, love these boots. I've never been a fan of lace-up boots, but I loved the distressed leather so I caved. I get compliments every single time I wear them-a woman chased me down the street last week to ask where I got them, and it turns out she was a fashion stylist and wanted them for her clients. They're definitely a half size larger than marked, but they're very comfortable and sure to last a long time. I like them so much that I just ordered them in cocoa, too.

Great pair of boots! This boot is awesome! It looks great with jeans tucked in, or with a silk georgette swirl skirt for a great sexy look. I was looking to purchase the Frye's Durango slouch boot, but my boyfriend said these Villager Lace boots look way sexier!!! Now that I have them I agree. The first time I wore them I got alot of looks from both guys and chicks, my boyfriend says I really look Hot!!

I love these! They fit beautifully, and I have really big calves so I had to loosen the laces and they look amazing. The heel is high but it doesn't feel high, and the leather is softer every time I wear them. I usually wear a 9 and I got a 9 and they are fine.

Finally...a boot that goes with Bohemian clothes - So in love with these boots. They are much more comfortable than they look and tighten up nicely with the laces (there's also a side zip). I was happy that I ordered a half size down because they run a little big and I can still wear them with thick socks if needed. The dark brown color is beautiful and the worn texture makes them look perfectly broken in.

This is an amazing pair of boots. It did feel about a half size larger than marked, like others have said, but other than that . . . These boots are sooo gorgeous and they match a lot of different styles. I wear them with some casual dresses I have, skirts (especially flowy peasant style ones), or simply a pair of jeans. I've gotten so many comments on these, and I always catch people eyeing them up when I wear these in public. They're also very comfortable for the 3 inch heel to boot (no pun intended). Definitely worth every penny.

A good quality, stylish and comfortable boot - These boots are fabulous! Everything I'd expect from Frye boots. I've owned one particular pair of Frye boots (brown engineer boots) for 20 years, and I still wear them regularly (and laughed when they reissued them a couple of years ago and people started asking me where I got mine!). I expect quality from Frye -and I'm glad to see they still deliver. The only thing they could have benefited from was some padding in the footbed (like all shoes with a heel, most of the pressure is on the ball of your foot) -but that's nothing an inner sole won't cure.

Girl with a hundred pair of boots - These are by far my favorites...simply everything you could ask for in a boot and more...Do order a half size smaller if you are use to wearing a narrower toe such as myself. And lastly, I would recommend Zappos incomparable fearless ordering service and delivery.
