Great boot but the buckle on the inside of boot is causing pressure to my ankle. Not sure how to fix it. Painful

Ive had my Frye harness 8R for well over a year now there pretty much the only boot thats lasted me that long really well put together and look great too, hopefully theyll be back in stock soon!!

Absolutely LOVE these boots!

Nice boot but it's the width that is wrong. I couldn't get my foot into the boot it was so narrow.

Let's be honest; Frye is legendary regarding good quality leather products. They have been around for a long time, and most of the time, they do well. However, I must warn against one thingthe fit. Again, the leather, quality of the item, the material choice are superb. It is the fit that is a deal breaker. For some odd reason, all the Frye boots I have tried have had a strange design to the heel lock in the back of the boot and do not do the greatest at holding the foot down or in place. I did go ahead and purchase one anyway, hoping it was unique to the boots I tried in-store, but that is not the case; it seems the design is universal and applicable to all models. However, I purchased a final sale item so I cannot get a refund and my best bet is to sell my set at nearly the same price to a third-party retailer to make the most of my money back. So the point here is if your ankle fits that bizarre design in the back of the boot, go ahead and buy a Frye product. However, beware! Don't make the mistake I did.

Would the mens 7 fit like a womens 8-8.5 or would they run way bigger

way too narrow, i can't even get the right boot on. and i cannot return them. bad purchase all around.

I'VE HAD THESE 8Rs FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW AND STILL NOT WIDE ENOUGH. TRIED EVERYTHING SHORT OF SWIMMING WITH THEM ON AND WALKING THEM DRY. FROM THE TOES BACK TO THE START OF THE RISING OF THE BODY HAS NO GIVE TO FORM TO MY FEET I NOTICED THE 12R GOING TO WIDE WIDTH, WHY NOT THE 8Rs ALSO, JUST TRIM ABOUT 4 INCHES OFF? TO ME, SOUNDS SIMPLE, USE A KNIFE AND THEN SOW THE TRIMMINGS AT THE VERY TOP. REALLY REALLY GLAD ABOUT THE 12Rs GOING WIDE WIDTH, BUT PLEASE DO NOT STOP THERE

I just got my pair and I'm happy with my purchase! They are very robust so there is a break in period. These are my second pair of frye's! Great boots! Thank you!

Harness 8R is a timeless classic which is my all time favorite. I have an old pair in charcoal, they're 4 years old but still looking awesome. Nothing beats wearing them with a nice pair of boot cut jeans. My recent purchase however was way too small, it's hard to understand since I have the same exact pair (9.5) in a different color while my old pair fits like a glow, I am having a hard time getting these on. I thought the last should be standard for the same models and numbers. I am not sure if I can break them any time soon. I have also attached the photos with the scratches but since this is a rugged style harness, scracthes shouldn't be a major problem.

i bought these boots yesterday and they are like bricks. The sole is rock hard and so is the leather!! Probably made of buffalo hide. I have the roper 10r boots which took 2 months to break in, (they have slighty softer leather and the sole is much softer). Cant imagine how long these will take. They fit 1/2 size big so size down. Only reason i bought these is because of the harness and because Damon and Stefan Salvatore wear them. They're super cool but super uncomfy at first. i suggest ordering your regular size and putting an old sneaker insole inside to allow more comfort.

I could not fit my foot inside of the size 10 boot. The circumference of the top of the boot is too narrow. Do not have fat feet
