Buying Back My Teenage Years -
These are the shoes I wore in high school. They are exactly the same as they were in 1968. They are just as comfortable, just as sturdy, and look just the same as they did over 30 years ago. I expect they'll last as long as my last pair. Thanks Zappos for making them available!

2nd pair was just like the first - exactly what I wanted. These boots require some break in time, but soon become very soft and comfortable.
I had to get the new pair because the soles wore out. They were about 18 months old and had been worn a lot and the uppers were in excellent shape. I like the shoes and will buy another pair when these die.

What a Shoe!
I began wearing Clark's Desert Boots in the late 50's. I have almost always had at least one pair. I have worn them in the jungle and even in the Desert. In fact, I wore out at least 6 pairs in the Desert in the Middle East. I love these shoes.

What a great shoe. I remember wearing these back in high school and haven’t seen them since. They are all I remember and more. Cool, comfortable, lightweight and they look great with jeans or khakis. On my first order, I was a half size too big. I returned them and got them back at no extra charge and the price was very fair. I’m very satisfied.

I haven't had a pair of these since the seventies and they are just like I remember them -. Comfortable, little or no break-in time with that down to earth look that only gets better the more you wear them. Thanks Zappos for the great customer service (2 day delivery was outstanding). I will be making future purchases from my new best friends in "shoe" business, Zappos.com. Oh, one more thing about Clark's of England shoes. Order them one half size smaller than you normally would wear.

A GREAT EXPERIENCE!
Ordering these shoes was my best Christmas shopping experience! I searched high and low for this style of shoe and couldn't find anything--even thought of settling for a similar style but couldn't find a size 13 (including Macy's Herald Square). It was getting close to Christmas so I didn't think I had a chance of ordering online. I gave it one last shot on December 18th, thinking I'd have to pay a fortune for fast delivery. I was thrilled to find the exact shoe at your site at a good price with free shipping (FAST shipping)! It was my Christmas dream come true! It arrived the next day and my fiance was very happy with his present. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I have recommended this site to everyone and will always come here for my size 13's!

'Have worn these Desert Boots for 50 years for casual use. Stores here (Raleigh, NC) carry Clarks shoes, but not the Desert Boot. Don't understand why that is the case.

Best boot ever, if you go for the sand, make sure to get a suede cleaning kit, cause the get dirty fast. But any color is good. I went a half size smaller than I usually get. Peace out.

Most versatile -
This boot goes with anything, shorts, dress slacks or jeans. One of the most comfortable boots I've ever own. I've been wearing Clarks since the early 70's. We even played soccer in them and still could not wear them out. To this day, I still own a few pairs. Though I've stepped up to Mephisto, my true love lies with this Boot.

The ONLY Desert Boot!
This is truely the only desert boot to own. Nothing compares! I'm hard on shoes and these boots last. My only wish is for shoestrings to last as long as the boots. Don't get me wrong, the shoestrings last as well. But the boots just keep going and going. This boot should be considered a work of art. It's never out of style!

Comfortable and Stable
I bought the soft brown suede. They come soft and comfortable out of the box. The laces seem like they won't really hold the shoe stable, but they do. I think I have a new casual/dress all day shoe. These are great. My feet come in the wide variety, yet these shoes feel great at the usual size without additional width. If you have wide feet, you would be crazy not to buy these shoes.

Simply the best!!
If this shoe is ever discontinued I hope that Buckingham Palace and all it's inhabitants are forced to work at a McDonalds in Sebastopol, Mississippi. I have worn it hunting, shopping, working in the yard. I have owned a pair of Clark's dessert boots since I discovered them as a seventh grader in 1968. They are the most versatile, comfortable and best looking 3/4 boot in the world. You can climb mountains, hike desserts, ford swollen rivers and stay up with your wife at the mall.

Just the "Best".
I first bought a pair when I was 25 and wore them for the next 25 years before loosing touch with the stores that carry them. Thanks for the internet. Be careful of oil, grease and gas on the crepe soles...otherwise the best!

There's not a better shoe.
I'm 61 years old and I've worn this style of shoe since I was a very young man (17) and they can't be beat, when I purchase this next pair they will be about my 27th pair and I'll continue to buy them as long as they make them.

Teenage companion.
Living in Lagos, Nigeria in 1971, these were the only real quality shoes you could buy. The only other brand was Bata. I thought they were the ugliest, but had a lot of teen "firsts" while wearing them. They held up extremly well in the tropical heat and downpours of equatorial Africa. My dad and brother wore them too. Our "dessies" felt right at home when we were in Kenya's Tsavo game park sneaking through the red dust and acquiring its color while trying to photograph rhino. Their last encore was dinner at the swank Dorchester Hotel in London where strangers of equally swank pedigrees complimented us on how well one of their national icons fared in a posh setting. Years later, in 2001 I renewed my bond with them and still attest to their comfort and classic styling and compliments received even though my safaris are limited to the hot and dusty streets of urban America. Cheerio!

I've owned a pair of these wonderful shoes for a while now.

A Very Missed Classic.
You have no idea how long I have been looking for another pair of these wonderful, and barefoot comfort-feeling shoes. After I finish this review I will finally be getting another pair of these wonders for the feet. Thanks for still producing these GREAT shoes.

Poor SupportGreat Support
Very good stuff! Durable, comfortable. Have been wearing them for 3 weeks now almost every day. Naturally, this should not be worn in rain. I wore them in rain once and they definitely held up and didn't get ruined but naturally, the feet did get wet. The suede is definitely a high end suede so there is little discoloration with wear.

Classic comfort -
Great boots with jeans or kahkis. Some of the comments in other reviews said that they were large for the listed size. I did not find them that way. I had to break them in before they were comfortable. Order your regular size and let them break in.
