A good, servicable boot -
It's a nice boot, sturdy and very well made. It is particularly comfortable once you get used to the style, i.e., the elastic gore which keeps the uppers snug. The toe section is a tad broad and blunt for my aesthetic tastes, but it does accommodate the toes without binding and adds to overall comfort of the boot. The Torrance goes well with jeans and khakis, so it offers a wide range of style opptions.

I'm a little disappointed. It's a bit bigger than I'm normally used to for a 10.5. And I don't want to go through the hassle of shipping it back. Otherwise I was very impressed with the speedy shipment. Thanks for getting it to me so fast.

A little klunky.
I bought these a few months ago to be my all-around slush-kickin' bad-weather boots and I was very pleased. They have excellent traction in wet or icy conditions, and are very comfortable and supportive--I've covered many miles of pavement in New Jersey and NYC in these. However they are very wide across the forefoot and my foot slides around in them a bit. I probably should have exchanged them for a half size down, but I liked them so much I didn't want to part with them for that long! The leather also creases very easily and after awhile they look more and more like snowboots.

Great boots!
I am pretty difficult to please when it comes to footwear.
I work with horses for a living and like a boot that is comfortable on the ground and in the saddle. Easy to clean. These boots fit the description.
If I was to find anything I would change at all it would be the toe width. I prefer to have a narrower toe simply because it is easier in and out of a stirrup. There! I told you I was hard to please.
One other thing to bear in mind is that because these boots are 'generous in the front, most people would buy a size smaller I believe. I originally ordered a 13 and exchanged for a 12.

Great boot. The only complaint I have is that the sole by the heel is peeling a little bit. Great for winters in Chicago. Zappos, keep up the great service. I buy all my shoes from you crazy kids.

I own two pairs of this boot, for both good and bad reasons. The good: these are among the most comfortable shoes I own, and during the cooler seasons (October through April) I wear them almost every day. I also think this model is extremely stylish and equally suitable for jeans or a business suit. The bad: the suede is a magnet for dirt and grease and it's almost impossible to keep them clean if you wear them frequently. I bought my second pair because the first were covered with grease stains that even my local shoemaker couldn't get out. Also, the spandex at both sides tends to fray after a few months of wear. For me, their comfort and style outweighed the dirt/fraying issues at first, but now that my second pair are full of stains and frayed (after six months), I'm moving to a different brand.

Beautiful Boots - So Long as they Stay in your Closet -
I own two pair of these beauties, and they are as comfortable as they are classically beautiful. The problem is that they scuff and STAIN ridiculously easily, and nothing - absolutely nothing - I've tried will either keep them clean or get stains out once they appear (hence my having two pairs). This fault makes them inappropriate for everyday wear. Also, if you need true arch support, you'll need to buy inserts.

Comfortable?
I'm surprised at all of the 5 stars for comfort on these. Maybe it's my narrow feet (and my feet are pretty narrow), but I have 2-3 sores on my feet from wearing these only 2 days, the worst of which is on my ankle where the elastic meets the leather inside the boot. Ow! I'd return them but I've worn them out of the house...

Soles Failed -
This was the greatest shoe I ever owned, until the rubber sole wore through and it began to leak. Granted, they were a year old, but that's just when a boot starts to break in right.

Looked and felt great when I got them, but wore out surprisingly quickly. The leather wrapped cosmetically around the heal tore and showed wear in just a couple of months. The tread wore down such that each ridge was uselessly smooth after just one winter. Any serious walking of significant distance in these boots is nearly crippling. I own other Timberland footwear that I have found amazingly comfortable and durable. These boots turned out to be a serious disappointment over the course of a few months.

ick Looking Black Leather Boot -
Boot looks great and feels great. Seems to be well constructed, but the only thing I question is their choice of materials. The outside edge of the heel is made of a very brittle plastic that gets chipped up if you walk in gravel or shale. This boot also has a very comfortable, but very unconventional sole and innersole. The area where the ball of your foot hits the ground is very thin rubber. But the innersole is specially designed to fit the gap and provides about 1/2+ of plush padding for your step. Only downside is, I think replacing the sole or innersole on these would require Timberland-specific materials.
