Good Quailty. Laptop fits nicely in back compartment. Front compartment holds plenty. Also has a compartment for sunglasses or other fragile stuff and seperate place for wallet, phone, keys, charge cords, etc. Only thing i would add is a keychain clip so you don't have to remember where you put your keys. I had my last NF backpack for decades. And NF will fix any defects from normal wear and tear.

Haven't had the backpack long enough to determine durability. This is a replacement for the Jester backpack as the bungee cord broke and customer service couldn't not fix. Appreciate TNF customer service and lifetime warranty policy - very generous. Hopefully this backpack stands the test of time, or at least for the next few years.

I bought this as a replacement for my old adidas bag. While it doesn't burst and expand weirdly when i shove fifty billion things in it, i really appreciate the structure it has. I can go to sleep at night knowing my laptop is protected and that my back isn't dead from all the things i have to carry (it forces me to have good posture)

There is something very unusual about this backpack. It does feel it was made upside down. When putting your essentials in the top two pockets, it becomes floppy. Impossible to set it down upright.

TL;DR: The backpack felt too flat and not ideal for school use. The water bottle holder got loose, letting the bottle slip into the main compartment. It couldn't stand upright, showed tiny white threads after hanging it, and just wasn't as functional or durable as expectedespecially with school supplies. North Face is great, but this one didn't hit the mark SPECIFIC INFO: The build looked so.. Flat (no offence) but its not like any other backpack, yeah id use it if i were to ever go hiking but that's not the case, When i used it for school i put my water bottle (24 oz Owala water bottle) the part to hold it inside of the bag opened and got so loose that my water bottle could go inside the main packets where i put my School stuff in (I had a 3 inch binder, one composition notebook and 2 folders and a pencil case) inside of the big compartment (that isn't the laptop compartment) don't get me wrong northface is really good but i just didn't seem to like this backpack as much!! One last issue when hanging my backpack on a chair at the top of the straps you could see teeny tiny white threads each time i put it on my chair, and if i wanted to put my backpack on the floor it wouldn't stand up because it was flat in width (and length) but that's really it!!

This is my 3rd bag by TNF. I got this updated bag to compliment my trip for vacation. Like many bags, this materials and stitching is top-tier. Plenty of pockets for storage & stylish design makes this bag appealing. It's comfortable on the back, versatile restrains snug the chest and waist.

This is the most amazing backpack ever. It is super durable and really light. It has a laptop case and tons of room inside, I also experienced its to water bottle holders and they did not spill! My son uses it for school and he loves it. We use it on hikes and we switch of using this bag because its so nice on our shoulders. You need to get this backpack!

The quality of this bag is unmatched! This back pack will be used for school, but could easily be used for traveling, leisure strolls, or hiking. I live in a tropical location with lots of rain, so the bag being water resistant is a huge plus. This is the kind of bag that will last you all four years of high school, college and beyond. My son has one and he is not gentle - the bag still looks new. The North Face consistently makes products that are sustainable and worth every cent!

the elastic straps have snapped twice, its not even worth trying to get them fixed. the backpack is incredibly comfortable when packed ~Just~ right. arguably the most comfortable backpack I own. but overstuffed? Terrible. not completely full? Terrible. I frequently keep a blanket shoved in the bottom of this backpack to keep it from feeling floppy. putting the two small pockets up high means putting anything in there makes the backpack so top heavy. and these are exactly the pockets where I put essentials that are always in the backpack, so its always an issue. cant set it down on the ground upright. cant open the main pocket without it spilling over. its so frustrating, it feels like they made this thing upside down. Maybe it works great in Australia. suggestions to TNF: replace the elastics with some straps. switch the top pockets to the bottom so they help hold the backpack up. add compression straps to the side (these can hold the water bottles in place) detach the bottom compression from the back cushion (using them currently turns the backpack bean shaped which is uncomfortable) if you have a bored designer who wants to call me you have my email. TLDR: great backpack to wear, Terrible to pack and open. Bad build quality.

Great bag but 2 big complaints 1) front pocket I'd zipper is half way up pocket so everything falls out of bag is upright 2) elastic strings get caught on things and are really annoying

It was a good backpack, but it didn't fit all of my school stuff, and the clip holding the little crossy part across the chest broke very easily. It was very cute, and I liked the way the side pockets held my water bottle.

I've been using the North Face Borealis for a few months now, and it's honestly one of the best backpacks I've owned. The padding on the back and shoulder straps makes it super comfortable, even when fully loaded. I use it for both work and weekend hikesit handles both perfectly. The laptop sleeve is well-padded and fits my 15" laptop snugly. There are plenty of pockets to keep things organized, and the front bungee is great for throwing in a jacket or gym gear. It's also surprisingly durablefeels like it'll last for years. Only downside is the waist strapit's not super supportive if you're carrying heavy loads for long periods. But for daily use? It's fantastic. Would absolutely recommend for students, commuters, or anyone who needs a reliable, all-purpose backpack.
