I use this backpack to bike to and from work but they have this hole in the front to put bigger items. But the hole is big enough for things to fall out so I would not put anything valuable in there. It is easy access but it does not have anything to keep it closed. No magnet, velcro, zipper, etc. It is more stylish but not as functional. Also the clip is flimsy.

I loved the design that it was fully black but when I received it, I immediately thought that it was too small in terms of storage.
But the critical thing is the front pocket. It's a stretchable fabric and there is no zipper. They say it is for quick access but you don't wanna put your phone in there or wallet or keys, so why access quickly. Besides, the lining underneath is WHITE. So there is no zipper and it stretches, basically even you put a tiny thing the white liner shows up immediately, then you lose your fully black backpack. I am currently not using it but debating if i should return it because i know overtime it will get saggy and the white will show a lot more...

I bought this backpack for high school. It held up great, the quality is outstanding. However, it was too small to fit even two 1.5 inch binders into. Great backpack for traveling but terrible for school functionality.

This backpack is very sleek...if it's mostly empty. The material has no give and the design is narrowest in the center of the pack, so when you fill it, the top and bottom bulge out like the letter B. By "fill" I mean putting a laptop, a waterbottle, a glasses case, and a book in it. That's all that fits.
Also, the stretchy pocket on the exterior doesn't snap or connect to the bag at all, so when loose it droops down exposing the inner material of the backpack. Overall, it was clearly designed for style rather than function. After using for only a few months I'm going to have to purchase something else.

i use the bag for travel. the bag is light weight which is good for flights and hiking.
but the design did not meet the expectation. it did not have zippers or compartments to keep small stuff and compartment depth is very small. not worth the cost. if i want something like this i would have purchased from different vendor not from here.i am north face customer from past 4 years they never disappoint me except this time.

Horrible backback!!! The weight distribution is terrible. The laptop slot that rests on your back when you have it on, is wayy too long and stiff. I understand it is meant to protect electronics but it's just awkward. It's a women's bag, so why does the back panel need to hit my butt and go all the way up to the back of my neck?! It DOES NOT STAND UP even if you have heavy books in it. Meaning the bottom is too narrow, it is roomy in the middle but then the bottom tapers to nothing. Normally there would be more of a "rectangular bottom". So when you throw stuff into it, it sits in the middle and nothing slides down because it it too tight. What backpack in the history of backpacks falls face down on whatever nasty floors and surfaces you set it down on. Think of school, work, and commuting with your back pack, there are no hooks to hang it up, so you set it down. Well I'm here to tell you it WILL BE FACE DOWN AND DIRTY. Zippers don't zip and unzip easily, straps are too stiff and make it hard to get out of your vehicle when you are grabbing your bag to go to class. Filled the top inside pocket with some stuff, and it blocks you from getting stuff past it to the main compartment. I mean everything is so flawed design wise. Love North Face clothing and jackets, but I won't be buying another back pack from them!!! ZERO STARS
