I Bought a Second Pair -
These shoes are the best I can find. They are higher on the sides than most, which I need for my weak ankles. I have to buy a sports insole because I have a narrow foot, but the insole lasts for a year. The shoes themselves lasted me for seven months of studio work, long enough so I replace them with an identical pair.

Love this shoe one caveat -
It is so hard to find good hi-top women’s sneakers, and this is a good one. I bought a 7 1/2 but kind of snug, so bought another pair size 8, and they are way to big...so bought sport inserts and wear heavier sock with the 8 and that seems to work fine. But the 8 LOOKS so much bigger than the 7 1/2. Side by side, the 8 looks like a size ten...so now I wear my 7 1/2 when I am going to have a less active workout and the 8's when I know I am going to be on the court and running alot...I would buy this shoe again, I am just not sure what size!

I love Ryka's high tops and wish they would carry more styles. The only part of the shoe I do not care for is the mesh part. Other than that, I really like the shoe.

Great shoe -
I had to order a half size up in order for this shoe to fit properly. It seems well cushioned but a little flimsy for the money. The higher cut rubs my ankle a little but I'm sure I'll get used to it. It came so highly recommended. I'm interested to see how durable the shoe turns out to be.

Great Aerobic Shoe -
I teach several high impact classes a week and was looking for a shoe with great comfort and support. I also wanted the ankle support of a high top tennis shoe, which are almost impossible to find these days. I am very pleased with these shoes as they met all my needs. They are also a little wider than other brands which is really nice. My only complaint is they run smaller than said size. I would recommend at least a half a size larger.

Ryka N-Gage Studio -
This shoe felt fabulous out of the box. I have been wearing it for a few months now, and it is still very good, but not fabulous. I felt less cushioning during the first workout than I felt just trying them on. They are even less cushiony now. They are a bit slippery on my wood floor when I am doing pushups. I know that people suggest to go up a 1/2 size with Ryka, but that's what I did with these shoes and they are a tad too large. I will still consider Ryka and would still consider this shoe for future purchases.

Mid Ankle-
Overall these shoes are just great. There is a little extra room in the top of the toes, but doesn't affect it much.

Not as good as RYTHM II-
I bought these shoes because Ryka no longer makes the Rhythm II style that I have used for several years in Jazzercise. This shoe has great foot bed support especially in the front where I need it for high impact, but the ankle support is too high for side lunging moves. And it's ugly. But, I am wearing them everyday in the gym and my feet don't hurt and that's more than I can say for just about every style/brand I have tried. And if Ryka doesn't replace this model in 6 months I will buy this shoe again.

Look great, feel pretty good -
I think these shoes are acceptable but you have to understand that over the many years of kickboxing, step, machines, etc. my feet have become more sensitive. And after suffering from plantar fasciitis twice I am a bit biased! I think a shoe with more padding/cushioning would be more up my alley.

Pretty good...
So far the lateral support is great for side-ways moves in aerobics/Jazzercise. I did put inserts for added cushion - the insoles that come with the shoes were a bit weak. Overall, I'm liking them so far.

Great studio shoe -
After joining Jazzercise the overwhelming recommendation is for a Ryka shoe, and I found the N-Gage to be very stylish and comfortable. It felt true to size in length, but I did move around a bit in the front and it didn't have as much cushioning as I expected from a shoe built for this purpose. I added a gel insert sole and that solved my problem. Given that all my fitness pants, capris and shorts are black it was nice to have a shoe offered in black. This is the shoe that most of the instructors at the local Jazzercise wear.

Great support -
I wanted a good comfy sturdy sneaker for aerobics and kick boxing - so i wanted something with good ankle support but not stupid looking - these are definitely the best sneaker. I love them and basically wear them every time I work out - I ordered three different pairs of sneakers from zappos before i settled on these - returns are SO easy with Zappos.

Ryka N-Gage Studio-
I had worn out a previous model of Ryka's purchased in a health club. I put these on the day they arrived and they felt as good as my old pair. Great fit!

Ryka N Gage Studio - Okay -
I bought these because Shape November 2005 recommended them as "best overall" for aerobic workouts. The shoe felt a half size too big, and I ordered a 10. They are a bit loose in the ankle, my ankle moves around a lot, and they don't provide the arch support I had hoped for. I am hoping that they get better with use, but my foot feels more secure in my New Balance tennis/court shoes. I probably would not buy Ryka again. I would probably try them on in a store first.

Comfortable but not sized right and no arch support!
Comfortable shoe, really nice, until the right side of my foot started hurting right to the side of my toe knuckles! Not being sized correctly, I had to order another pair a half size up, which is too big! The shoe is so comfortable otherwise; that I have put in arch supports and just wear the bigger size with thicker socks. I can't find any other "studio" aerobic shoes, (NOT just cross trainers!), so I must keep these. The shoe is a tad too narrow on the side where it's been hurting. The size would have been perfect except for that. There is a lot of room in the toe box. And no arch support! I've paid double because this shoe could have been made better.

Good looking but too stiff for me -
I am returning my pair of these shoes because they are too stiff for my feet and ankles. In the description they say that the materials are synthetic/mesh. I was hoping they would be mostly mesh with a little synthetic but they are actually almost all synthetic (leather-like). This fake leather is very stiff and will never stretch or soften up. It's a shame, the shoes are so good looking and I love the support of the mid high cut.

Ryka N-Gage Studio-
High-tops on shoes give me bruises on the inside of my ankles. It is hard to do the particular exercise when you lean to one side to stretch inner thighs, because my ankle pushes down on the high tops (hurting), so that particular exercise can't be done effectively. I put in an arch insole which I purchased from "Walking" store which made the shoe a bit more comfortable on my arches. For some reason the sides of my feet hurt when working out (step aerobics) with this shoe- I've had the shoes about 3 weeks, and would have thought they would have been broken in better by now. I had a pair of Enlight II's for a short time (before one of the shoestring loops broke off of the shoe and I had to return), and they aren't high tops, but are a little higher than regular shoes- those are a better height for me.

Great feel; not tough enough -
I am pretty disappointed. It fits great, looks great, and supports my ankles well. I play Wallyball 2 times a week for 3 hours each time, and in the front part of the shoe, the rubber sole is peeled back about an inch after only wearing them for 4 months.

Shin Splints -
I guess I have to be the naysayer here, but I'm certain that when I tried wearing this model Ryka, they gave me shin splints. I've Jazzercised for years, without any injury, except for the two times I've tried wearing Rykas. They must not provide enough arch support for the over-pronator. I know someone else that came to the same conclusion without a comment from me, so that sealed it for me. I'm going back to my old stand-by, New Balance. Just wish they offered the ankle support a la Ryka.

These are too high for aerobic activities, and caused uncomfortable ankle friction. They're very stiff, not enough cushioning for high impact activities such as step or kickboxing.

Too High, Not Enough Forefront Cushioning -
I had the now discontinued Enlight II's and loved them. The N-Gage Studio doesn't even compare. There's an unequal amount of cushion in the front vs. the back, creating a feel more like a running shoe. The heel is higher, similar to a Nike Air. Studio shoes should have more cushioning in the forefront, and these just don't cut it. A low quality product, very disappointing.
