The shoes looked and felt great for the 1st 3 days. I've been buying Johnston and Murphy shoes for a decade. After a few days you could tell these shoes did not have the same level or thickness in the padding in the bottom of the foot that J&M are known for. The thick padded soles are why I buy this expensive brand of shoes. This will be my last purchase...

I really like the style of these shoes with the contrast stitching and have been wearing them for years, until recently. I do not know what happened, but the quality just is not there anymore. They begin to make my knees hurt when wearing for extended periods of time, did not think it was the shoes until I switched. And similar to a previous review they make a strange creaking noise in the heel after a little bit of wear time, like a month or so. Just to be sure I ordered another pair thinking it was a fluke, same thing. Had to move on to something else.

The shoes were extremely comfortable while trying on but rub points developed when wearing the shoes all day. The stiching in the area behind the achilles tendon area is failing after less than 4 full days of use. I will be returning these shoes to the store.

I wear a size 15, and the salesman said that the 14 was on the large side, therefore I purchased the shoes. That first week my feel were becoming very pinched as the day went on. By the second week I stopped using them! I need a size 15 wide but find that no one has them! Don't get me wrong I love the shoe, but they are tight at the toes! Do you carry 15 wide?

I have a pair just like this and it is extremely comfortable. Unfortunately after wearing this pair a few times, it appears the tongue on one shoe is twisted (not sewn correctly) causing the shoe to dimple just below the laces.

I bought this shoe to replace an old pair of JM shoes that I had for several years. I love the style and quality, but I felt the shoe lacked proper cushioning at the heel and front areas.

This shoe is great other than the "air" cushioning system eventually gives way and begins to squeak which is very annoying. This occured to my pair of shoes too soon after purchasing them. I would say that they absolutely did not live up to the quality that I expect from J&M.

I love Johnston & Murphy products. Buy more clothes than shoes though because most of your shoes I like don't come in narrow widths.

The new universal M/W rating does not fit a person which needs a true wide shoe... So you do not make more shoes in a "True" wide sizing...

Shoes just fit weird…very stiff, never loosened up and constantly pinched around the Achilles. The weight of each shoe was about 10lbs! Heaviest pair of dress shoes (and boots) I have ever owned. Very disappointed with these.

I've worn this style of shoe for several years and used to recommend it. But this year I'm on my 3rd pair because the first two squeaked whenever I'd walk. Now the 3rd pair is squeaking too. Something must have changed in the supply chain. JM's customer service is tops, but this product continues to disappoint.

First of all Benjamin Michael, the salesman who helped me when I called, did a phenomenal job he deserves an A+! When I received both pairs of the shuler bikes, the brown and the black, I was very disappointed. They both had imperfections on the top of the shoe: a dark mark on the top and a dent on the top. And the leather did not seem as good of quality as in the past. I've worn Shuler bikes for over 15 years that's why I bought two more pair. But I probably will return them because of the imperfections in the lesser quality leather. I'm a father of four girls and an Air Force veteran so I have to be wise with the money I've been given and have earned. Investing over $200 in shoes is quite an investment. After wearing Johnston and Murphy shoes for over 15 years, I am disappointed and frustrated.

Wore for a day--was falling all over myself walking and almost impossible to drive with these shoes --too big, too heavy, fine if you put them on and don't move -- but then you don't need shoes.

I'm an engineer that works approximately 70% of the time at a desk. I stubbed my toe on a piece of concrete in the shop floor and the front of the sole came apart and the stitching has began to come out. Truly dissatisfied and will never purchase another pair. My previous pair lasted around 2 years and didn't cost half as much but lacked the comfort that these had. Truly wish I could have the same comfort but much better quality.
