Love these shoes. Comfortable even after tons of use. Soft collar protects ankles from friction and blisters. Durable shoe. Just a really well-made, comfortable and good-looking shoe. Highly recommend.

I love these shoes. I wore Doc Martens when I was younger and loved them then. So when I was looking for a sturdy, comfortable work shoe I thought of Doc Martens. I am a Nurse Practitioner and I am on my feet up to 12 hours a day. There was no break in period..just put them on and go! And of course I can't say enough about Zappos. I've been shopping at Zappos for decades. Guy guys rock!

Love these shoes, comfortable, look GREAT with jeans. This style has a bit more flair with the different color on the leather and the top and the multi-color laces, I like it. They're pretty much the perfect shoes if you can wear jeans to work. Only downside is that the insole is pretty cheap and wore out quickly, but luckily Doc Martens sells replacement insoles at a reasonable price, and those last longer as well.

Great work shoe. I am on my 5th pair. I replace the shoe every 9 months or so. I remove foot liner and use my own custom orthotics.

This shoe provides great arch support. It's a versatile shoe that I wear to work, or to complete jobs outdoors. It's durable, comfortable, and stylish! It's a great shoe to wear when you have to stand for long periods of time. I have bought a pair of these shoes every couple years for the last 16 years! I swear by them.

They definitely have more arch support than what I was wearing before (which is to say, more than none), but I'm going to need inserts anyway. The arch support goes nice and high, but it only protrudes from the edge of the shoe by about 3/4", rather than going under the entire arched part of the foot. So, not quite enough arch support for my flat feet to want to do heavy walking in them just yet. They're also slightly wide, even laced up all the way, they wiggle side-to-side a bit and slide a little on the heel. Thin socks are out!

I bought these shoes for my son and he loves them. As far as Zappos, they always deliver so rapidly, and always the right product. I order Birkenstocks from Zappos and am always happy with the product and especially happy with the rapid delivery! And the great attitude always shows when ordering!

The Doc Martens 8053 is the ultimate shoe. This shoe has such a classy and stylish look and can be worn for any occasion. With a rugged shoe like this you would think that it cannot be too comfortable but these are very comfortable. I highly recommend the 8053s from Dr. Martens.

For 16 years, I've worn only this shoe for work, and most casual evenings out (one of the reasons I don't like the dressier evenings out - the footwear kills me by the end of the evening). Everything else in my wardrobe has changed with whatever the current fashion is, but these shoes have been the most dependable, comfortable accessory. Now that hipsters a third my age compliment my footwear choice, I'm stuck with these forever. My rating: Style is middle, because these are not purchased to wow. The size is the same size I've always worn, which is a size lower than other shoes for me.

So, first of all, buy the half size bigger and buy an inner sole. Second, Zappos is amazing. I ordered the Butero leather, which were way too shiny for my taste, processed the return through the Zappos app and had my new nappa leather 8053s in a week. A lot has been written about the "new" Docs, essentially Docs made post 2003, made in Asia. In the case of my black 8053s, Cambodia. If you have a political issue buying products from companies that outsource, I'd recommend going to the DM website and buying the vintage shoes/boots, made in England. Of course, they don't make the 8053s. The major manufacturing difference is the inner sole, which doesn't have the arch support or molding ability that the pre-2003 Docs had. They are, however, still better shoes than most others, which are also, sadly made overseas. The construction of the outer shoe is still spectacular. I have two pair of 8053s (brown purchased a year ago which broke in beautifully and the nappa black) and one pair of 1460 boots. There are minor construction issues with the boots, but all three are the second most comfortable shoes I've ever owned, second only to the pre-2003 docs. Don't bother buying the DM inner sole, pay the same amount and get a gel insole of some kind. The DM inner soles sold on Zappos are just hardened plastic. But buy the shoes, they will break in, maybe quicker than they should. Get some inserts and buy the wonder balm. Take care of the shoes and they shouldn't disappoint. If they do, I'm sure Zappos will take them back.

There aren't a lot of reviews from female wearers of this shoe and that's why I'm writing. I work in a furniture/home decorating store and needed a versatile shoe that would be comfortable all day, make me feel secure climbing up and down tall ladders, loading/unloading, packing/unpacking heavy items and look stylish as well. These do the trick. These are men's shoes and so run in men's sizes. In American sizes, I usually wear a 6 1/2-7. I don't have wide feet, but do wear thick socks for extra cushion at work, I ordered a size 4 and they fit perfectly. I havent had any problems with the padding and there was no breaking in period. They don't feel or look boyish and I even wear them outside work with skirts or shorts. I highly recommend them.

I was looking for a new pair of shoes to replace my 12-year-old Docs (which were in pretty sad shape but still comfortable!). These fit the bill. They're still a bit stiff but only rubbed at my ankles for the first couple of days, and are otherwise very comfortable. They look pretty snazzy, too.

I bought these for my husband, because he really hates to replace his shoes, and Dr. Martens typically last approximately forever. He has a screw in his ankle (from repairing a break) so it i s important that shoes not rub on that area, and these do not. He is also a scientist, and these are great for the lab because of the non-skid sole and general sturdiness. He did not report any comfort problems, not even right at first.

I love these shoes! Comfortable right out of the box and durable. My previous pair lasted 6+ years of several times a week wear. I highly recommend these!

EXCELLENT Shoes. Just replaced my last pair which I had worn for many YEARS and had been through thick and thin with me. I had pretty much worn the soles smooth and I just retired them after at LEAST 6 years if not longer, I can't remember. These shoes are so comfortable, my old pair had so many memories. I wore these shoes to work every day, I wore them to bars, concerts, court, weddings, funerals, you name it. Nothing compares to the durability and versatility you get with a DM oxford. I just love the 8053 model - the padded collar and styling of the shoe really does it for me.

Exactly what you'd expect from Dr. Martens: quality craftsmanship, true to size and comfortable. Love everything about them, especially the butero leather being easier to polish than the suede versions I own.

My go to shoe. I wear these all the freaking time! I wear them to work a lot if I'm not in my Danskos, and I wear them with jeans all the time too. I have a brown pair and a black pair - I couldn't think of a shoe in my closet that gets more use than the 8053 from Dr. Martens. They go with anything - throw them on with jeans and a T-Shirt, throw them on with dress pants and a polo, throw them on with a suit and tie. They're up for the challenge too, I have had one pair of them for over 5 years, and I just bought a new pair for work. So yeah, these will always be a staple in my closet. So comfy too. I've worn them all over the world, Chicago, Denver, San Francisco. Also they are accepted in pretty much every social group too.

These shoes had been wanted for some time, I purchased them as a gift and did no disappoint. He typically wears a 9 US size and I got the 9 UK size regardless of the recommendation to go a sizer lower. They were perfect.

My son loved these! Fit and comfort are great and they are true to size. These shoes last and look great for a long time.

The shoes are great for my grandson who has a size 17 foot. Never can find any thing in his size. Uses the shoes for work and he says they are perfect. Comfort all the way around. Loved the very fast service. Ordered them on Sunday and were here on Tuesday. Free shipping and they came that fast. The shoe is holding up nicely. Very pleased and bought him boots. He loves them also and came just as fast. Very pleased with Zappos.

As with all Dr. Martens, these are great quality shoes that will last forever. I have Dr. Martens that I've owned for more than 10 years and they still look great. Dr. Martens are always roomy shoe so they are very comfortable and don't squish your feet.

Dr. Martens are always comfortable right out of the box. I wear these constantly and they stay comfortable and I also feel sure-footed while walking around in my very rainy climate.

What's better than a pair of Docs? OK, so maybe a few things. But these certainly rank up there. I've been wearing Docs for years and needed a new pair for work. I almost went with the true traditional style but saw these Nappa, I just had to get them. No breaking in period needed and the padded ankle helped with this. Good sturdy shoe, proven manufacturer and they work for, well, work but also great with jeans and t-shirt when going casual.

I love the shoes, very nice just what you would expect from Docs. However the shoes were nothing compared to the service I received Zappos is a leader in great customer service! I was truly amazed, they take care of their customers!

This is a great shoe. Takes a couple weeks to break in but then is very comfortable. Best of all is available in size 6. I wear it every day to work.
