Pros: 1. These boots last a very long time. The first set I had was 7 years old. That's being used for work all the time. The only thing I've had to replace during the seven years is the sole insert. 2. Rubber sole that's resistant to de-icing fluid. Non-slip too. 3. Airport friendly boots with the composite shanks. Cons: 1. Boots are about one inch shorter than the originals. That's probably how they kept the price the same. The only issue is pants get caught in the top of the boots after standing up (minor inconvenience). 2. Made in China. Another nice set of boots by Ariat.

Love these boots. I saw other reviews complaining about size but I'm thinking people don't really know their true shoe size, or are used to another brand that is a little off. I wear size 10 or occasionally 10 1/2 sometimes in tennis shoes or shoes with a lot of padding but with boots I usually know to size down to 9 1/2 which I did for these and the fit is perfect. Also I did not find that these run narrow as other people have said. If you have a normal width foot like I do, D will be perfect. If you have a wider foot, get a wider size but don't assume D will be too narrow. Some of the reviews on here are making sizing way too complicated and confusing. Haven't had a pair of cowboy boots in quite awhile, I feel like I was as a kid wanting to wear them everywhere so I won't have to tie my shoes. The padding and softness of the leather really make this a joy to wear. They clean up easily too. Highly recommended.

Boots fit great right out of the box. Quick and easy break in period. Airport security friendly (no metal in the soles).

Best boots for those with narrow heels & shallow instep. I tried on four different brands of "Roper Boots" and the only brand that fit my feet were the Ariats...they are apparently made on true combination lasts (even though the others say that they are)-- combination last means having a wider forefoot than the heel. Also the instep is shallower so that my slim foot is held down to the insole much better and my heel does not come up hardly at all when I walk. I love them!!

These had a little break in period, as expected. Now, they're super comfortable. I can wear them for casual-nice or somewhat dressy.

These boots are great. I had been considering the Justins because I have an older pair. I thought I'd try these because of the great rubber sole and the added cushioning of the insole. I was not disappointed. I could wear these all day right out of the box.

Like another person that has reviewed this boot, I am also a professional aviator. No issues going through security. Very comfortable boot after a moderate three day break-in. They're sharp enough for a night on the town, but I can also throw on some old Levi's and go very casual. Very happy with these Ariats!

I have worn these boots to work for over 3 years and am now replacing them in kind. They are comfortable in a pair of jeans among friends. They look good while wearing business casual slacks. I have even interviewed for a job in a suit while wearing them. I do agree with some of the other reviews that they are sized a little small. I wear about 1/2 size larger in these boots than my normal shoe size.

Pilot Work Boot - This is an airport friendly (no detector alarm) boot with an "all day" feel great performance. Although the sole is impervious to Skydrol, the heels wear fairly rapidly for pronator's like me. Wore Bates Uniform Wellington for 20 years, previously, and am now glad they quit making them.

Comfortable boots. At first they were a bit stiff, but after a week or so they soften nicely. The composite shank makes for a nice "no-beep" at airport metal detectors, so if you work at an airport this can be helpful. As a normal passenger you'll still have to remove your footwear though. All in all they are pretty good boots.

These boots are comfortable, supportive, tough and also look good. Definitely 5 stars!

So I ordered a pair of boots via the Net at Zappos. The got her on time, fit like a glove which is pretty good when you consider that they are boots. Are very comfortable and will be enjoyed for a long time to come. Thanks for making my on-line shopping a pleasure Zappos!

I ordered this boot a half size larger than my normal size, and it was too big. The correct size fit tight at first, the way a boot is supposed to. Now, after 2 weeks at work, they slide on without difficulty, and squeeze my feet less. After a few more weeks of breaking them in, they will be perfect! Great boots, I wear them with a suit.

Ariat's are the best boots. That's all my husband, son and brother will wear. The soles do not wear out and they are the most comfortable boots on the market.

Zappos had the best price on this pair of boots, plus free shipping and easy return if needed. I ordered online and within 3 days had the product. I would definitely shop at Zappos again. These were a Christmas gift for my son; he put them on right away and absolutely loves them.

Very comfortable. I can and have spent all day in them with no discomfort. The sole has a great grip. In general, they are fairly flexible with good arch support. I normally wear a size 11, but the 10 1/2 fits me perfectly.

Have 2 pairs, one is 12 years old (& look like it). Needed black for spiffy casual work use when MC riding. Great Motorcycle Boots, very comfy & solid. Agree a little narrower, but fit me great. Have been in drowning rains a couple times, dried them out & look great. Most comfortable boots ever for me.

I LOVE these boots! I own several pairs of Ariats, and I have to say-as a gal, these ran REALLY narrow in women’s sizes. I wanted them soooooooo badly-I decided to try men’s (a little extra width), and size up 1/2 size (from a women’s 9, to a men’s 9 1/2). BINGO!!! Easier to pull on, a little loose in the heel (barely), and SUPER comfy! I never tried this style before-have Fatbabys, Probabys, and a pair of regular boots, and these are right up there with the best of ‘em! And the customer reps at Zappos were the absolute BEST at helping me figure out the sizing dilemma! Thanx sooooooo much! Once again (as ALWAYS!!!) - Zappos RULES!

These boots are really comfortable right out of the box. The size is pretty accurate. Maybe a little snug, but leather will stretch and conform to your feet. I am very pleased. Also the Zappos shipping is the best I've ever seen. Thanks.

Casual boot - A very nice pair of boots. They fit tighter than I expected so order larger/wider as necessary. They didn't widen out easily. Great looking boots.
