This Mephisto shoe is a good shoe for short to moderate walking distances, and it provides average support for my feet. It is a fun-style shoe and great to wear around the house and out to the stores. I feel that I got my money's worth with this shoe. Thanks to Zappos, the world's fastest shipper, and thanks to the best shoe store in the world too...Zappos.

A cool shoe (for your mother)- I have to admit I have a slightly narrower foot than 'Medium' width, and that is my main problem with these shoes; while my feet are 8.5/9.0, the ankle strap does not allow me to adjust tightly enough to secure around my narrow ankle size. As far as flexibility, I would have to disagree with those who say it is not flexible enough. I found the front half of the shoe to be quite flexible for walking (not at all stiff).

Almost perfect - These shoes were recommended to me as something that would accommodate my normal-width forefoot, super narrow heels, and orthotics. They work great for me; my only complaint is that I wish they had a bit more depth in the toes to accommodate my mild hammertoes. I can only wear these with my custom orthotics which stop just before the toes, giving me more room in the toes. These shoes are too tight in the toes if I wear them with the included insoles or a full-length orthotic. However, the next 1/2 size larger is too big everywhere else! Otherwise these shoes seem to run true to size for me. They are also fairly flexible -- I can't walk in really stiff shoes! I cannot comment on the arch support since most shoes don't have enough support to even touch my super-high arches!

Love it - wish 1 thing - I love the looks and comfort of this shoe - but wish the soles were a bit more spongy. I am taking on my first trip with me so hope they are not too hard for long walks.

Disappointed in the Niro - This is my 4th pair of Niros. I believe there has been a decline in quality of some of the materials used. I have always worn them barefoot in the warm months and never had a problem. Now I am experiencing chafing under the tongue (don't know if this is the right term) and the outer ankle area. In checking my old pairs, I think the material used to stitch the suede outer cover with the inner material is at fault. It is much stiffer and scratchy. I find that the Mephisto walking shoe, "Lanny" is much much better (also much more costly), although it is slightly heavier.

Love the look - but not a fit for narrow heels - I read the other reviews before I ordered these shoes. Several comments were made about the cut of the heel being wide - I should have respected those, but I love the look of this shoe! Plus, I have several pair of Mephisto sandals and have been so happy with them. So, I ordered, but I had to return. It's true, the heel is a bit wide. There is a velcro adjustment at the heel, but it wasn't enough for me. So sad am I - they are beautiful shoes and no doubt wear very well provided they fit you right. Thank goodness for Zappos free shipping and return policy. This experience won't stop me from ordering again and again.

I was really hoping to keep this shoe because I was looking for a supportive shoe that didn't look like a tennis shoe for a walking trip through Europe. The look of the Allrounder was great but I just couldn't get a comfortable fit. I tried 3 different sizes. The heel seemed to be especially difficult. No matter how much I tightened it, my heel kept rubbing or slipping out. I did like the arch support and the Allrounder's light weight. As always, Zappos was great handling the return.

The shoes are actually quite pretty. Arch support was needed as it did not provide enough. The shoes also ran a bit bigger than my regular size 8. The orthotics I inserted made them fit perfectly.

Sporty Style + Amazing Comfort = happy feet - I adore my pair - especially after spending 10 days in them at Orlando, FL theme parks. I bought these because I wanted a fun style with good support and the Allrounder delivers on both counts. The arch support and cushioning comfort are fabulous: I was on my feet 10+ hours a day, in awful heat & humidity, and my feet never ached. Note: slightly wide fit for those with narrow feet, especially in the toe area. STILL A GREAT LOOKING SHOE, WITH FABULOUS COMFORT & SUPPORT.

Close, but couldn't keep it. Really wish I could have made this shoe work. Very cute and fun styling. Extremely comfortable and love the adjustment straps--can make the shoes work to fit my feet no matter what time of day or what kind of beating they've already taken. However, on these wide, flat feet, I couldn't get past the tight feeling across the toe of the shoe. Diabetes rules and, therefore, these shoes can't be in my repertoire. Sorry to have to send them back--wish they came in wide width.

Great for traveling! I purchased this shoe to take to Italy. I logged many miles on foot and the Niro did not disappoint! My only concern is that the suede strap on top did stretch out some from having to adjust the fit from time to time.

Cute comfortable trainer. I love this shoe and have two pairs. It even accommodates my rather aggressive orthotic. It's comfortable from the day it arrives and I love the color choices, some for spring and some for winter.

Love the shoe but... I don't know about the antimicrobial statement because they caused really bad foot odor for me. I don't have that problem with other shoes I wear sockless. I love the shoe but for the money, I don't wear them as I should because the odor is horrible.

This is a great-looking shoe! Excellent for all-around wear and traveling, comfortable and easily removed when you get to security screening. Two complaints: first, the shoe seems to run about a half-size too big. Second, the velcro strap around the back rubs my anklebone so I have to wear them with socks. Maybe that is related to the fact they're a little too big.

My first pair of Mephistos. I have been loving the look of these shoes since they came out - a friend of mine in law school has a pair. Being a student, they were a bit pricey for my budget, but I read all the reviews and decided this would be my first pair of Mephistos. I normally wear a 10 or 10.5, so I ordered an 11 (as suggested by so many Mephisto reviewers). I think I could've easily gotten by with a 10 in these - they do run wide. However, these shoes are very adjustable and I pulled in the heel a bit and am very happy with them. The one thing I am disappointed about is that they have very little arch support. Maybe that's why they are wide - so they can accommodate orthotics. I'm sure I will need arch supports in these shoes. I was expecting a little more cushion and support, but I love the flexibility and width. I'll be buying more Mephistos as my budget allows.

This shoe felt really comfortable at first, but it is a little wide and has very little hindfoot support. I would not recommend this style if you have any pronation problems since it offers no stability in this regard.

A good shoe for my bad feet - I have problems with my feet, and this is one shoe that I'm able to wear. It accommodates my orthotics, is cute, and is the most comfortable that I've found. This is the fourth color that I've bought. Style-wise, it gets lots of compliments. It's a cute alternative to a regular sneaker.

Allrounder Niro by Mephisto -- a good bet - This shoe is a little pricey for what is basically an attractive sneaker but it is constructed very well. It is quite roomy and comfortable but because it is somewhat large on me, my foot slides forward and my big toe hits the front of the shoe when I walk quickly. I bought this shoe knowing it would be a little large based on other consumer reviews but I did so because I use orthotics. My friend who recommended these shoes wears them with orthotics. Unfortunately, although the shoe did accommodate my orthotics, the toe box was a little too tight with my orthotics in place, so I was forced to forego the orthotics. The result is that the shoe is too big. I resolved this by wearing thick socks. As long as the socks are thick enough, the shoe is quite comfortable. Otherwise, my foot slides around too much. Generally, because I have a bunion, I have a difficult time wearing shoes that do not have a very wide toe box, which are usually very unfashionable. The Niros, which have a decent but still fairly narrow toe box, are better looking and much less confining than lace up sneakers or oxfords, such as Drew shoes, while offering good support. The Velcro closing is also nice. But if you need a wide toe box and are primarily interested in support and use an orthotic, there is nothing like the Drew "Fitter." It's ugly but it does the trick when sneakers are inappropriate. I am in heaven when I wear New Balance 587s and I can walk for miles without pain. But white sneakers are too informal for my profession. I was hoping that the Niros might solve the problem but I can't wear them with nylon stockings or thinner slack socks. For who are not burdened with these issues, I think the Allrounder Niro is quite a good find.

At least a 1/2 size too big - This shoe is incredibly comfortable & stylish - I have received many compliments and it is the perfect "Mom" shoe for the park, etc... It definitely runs large - at least a 1/2 size or more and is wide. I had to put a full pad in each as I bought the smallest size available, 5 1/2, and Mephisto apparently does not make a 5. I am usually a 5 1/2 or even a 6.

Kind of goofy looking but serves purpose - I bought these shoes specifically for traveling to the Midwest as I had to fly and take trains, attend a football game and run around. They are stiff out of the box, but comfortable and light. No arch support but good traction and adjustable on the top and at the heel with velcro straps. Can be worn with or without socks. I'm not sold on the Mary Jane sneaker look, but they were perfect for traveling, especially at airports where shoes must be removed. Also easy to pack as they are light and have not clunky. Comfortable all day, although without socks, they don't breathe too well and get a little sweaty.

Niro - If the shoe fits, I wear it. This shoe supports my flat feet: I am not walking on my ankles. I do have to wear "thickish" socks to fill out the shoe. I wish it had more padding for the ball of my foot. For the cost of these, one would think it would be like walking on air, but it isn't. I have the navy, it looks great with jeans. I wear an 8, it is a generous 8 for me.

Yea, Mephisto - I bought this shoe in chartreuse green and white and it is cute and comfortable, I think. I'm 70 and my husband, daughter & grandson think it's a ridiculous shoe but my lady friends love it. I have a wide foot and Mephisto shoes work well for me even though hey are pricy. I have two pair of Mephisto dress shoes that I have worn everywhere for three years and they look nearly new.

A very cute shoe. Like the way it looks and fits. It is lightweight, flexible and is comfortable. However, they look like they'd be more cushy than they really are. No arch support and very little cushioning. Cute none the less. The olive/tan combo is really good looking.
