I have very mixed feelings about this shoe. I purchased it with out realizing how stiff and inflexible it was and how little cushioning it had. This is definitely a motion control shoe designed for a someone who is an excessive pronator. I am a supinator; I didn't think in a walking shoe it would matter all that much because walking motion is different from running. However after just a few weeks and 35 miles my feet, ankles, lower legs and (to a lesser extent) my knees are killing me. I changed back to my ancient Rockports and the problems have already started to ease a bit. Must be the shoes; it’s the only thing that I have changed. The shoe is well constructed and looks okay but it isn't for me, that’s for sure! It also tends to run a little narrow; I am a 9E and I bought the 9EE, it fits snug.

Finally, enough room for the toes - Sneaky: can wear them to the office without running afoul of the no-athletic-shoe-rule due to conservative appearance. Overall comfortable. Toe box width roomy, height excellent (room to wiggle.) Heel notch a bit high--presses on Achilles tendon, but is tolerable. This is a common problem with my feet, not the fault of the shoe. Two minor complaints: sole catches and keeps 1/16th inch sand to scratch up the kitchen tile and tend to get a bit hot with extended wear. Will definitely buy this type again.

Great shoes for people who walk a lot! These shoes are a significant upgrade over the New Balance 810. I have 2 pairs of the 810 and they are fine for casual walking, but they can't compare to the MW 925. With the MW 925 you get a more rugged shoe that provides greater support and more control over how they fit. I am very pleased with my purchase and Zappos was great to deal with.

A good walking shoe - This shoe is very comfortable. The internal padding feels good and makes for a good fit. I have a narrow foot with a high arch. The width is good but as usual I had to customize for the arch. The toe area is roomy, maybe a bit boxy looking, but this makes the shoe that much more comfortable for walking. I wish they made a narrow in brown.

I've worn the shoes for two days and they seem comfortable enough. I purchased 4E width but they seem just a bit narrow. I think the SL-2 last helps make up the difference. They have just the right amount of room for the toes but I would have liked a bit more room for my high arch. I had previously bought the Brooks Addiction Walker and returned them because of poor fit, but so far I am happy with the New Balance.

disappointed - These sized out larger than the same size pair I bought in Feb 2006 and not as supportive, uncomfortable and painful at times

New Balance's MW925 (Leather) Built to last, especially good for heavy flat footers. However, the insoles are awful. Their claim of "maximum cushioning" is weak. This can be remedied with new quality insoles that (better trying on new insoles in a store though). Someone else here accurately suggested that. Zappos is great. They do all it takes to keep you satisfied. Smooth transaction.

New Balance MW925 (Leather) These shoes are stiff, heavy and uncomfortable for any significant walk. I got them 3 weeks ago because I was recovering from Plantar Fasciitis which they may have helped a bit, but they cause a new pain in the ball of foot bilaterally after a 30-60 minute walk. Latter lasts only a few hours. I would advise PF sufferers to research further, especially getting insights from specialized foot pain websites/forums, if they do not have access to a Quality podiatrist. Shop around and try shoes out before committing. Zappos' prices and service are outstanding, hard to beat.

New Balance MW925 - Very pleased with these shoes! Great comfort! I added my own arch supports which are Dr. prescribed.

Why I miss MW 842s - In nearly 18 months of serious walking, I have yet to find a shoe as comfortable and long-lasting as the NB MW842. Sadly this has been discontinued. I have since tried the MW925 and found it quite serviceable, though not so softly supportive and enjoyable as the aforementioned 842. May I add that the new MW843 is to me a complete disappointment! After just 3 sessioins of walking in the 843, my feet felt as though I was walking in shoes which were 2 to 3 months old and well-used! I'll buy no more 843s! For the present, I intend to carry on with the 925s.

Not as happy as I should be - The shoe still hurt my bunions!!! I thought a size 12 1/2 would help but it didn't.

Not as impressed as I thought I would be - I bought this shoe because of the great reviews people gave it. I have plantar fasciitis and hope this would be very helpful. Unfortunately, I don't find it that comfortable.

Not as comfortable as I'd hoped - I had high hopes for these shoes, but they've taken longer to break in than I've been accustomed. They feel narrower than marked and I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to use them as I had planned: as my excercise walker at lunch time. I usually walk 2.5 miles per day. These shoes, so far, have made the walk a chore. The past day or say they seem to be stretching out a bit, but I'd prefer a little less break in time.

I missed my chance to replace the Brooks Revo - The MW925 is the closest I could find to the Brooks Revo, now cancelled, which also offered great support, great comfort and a model in brown (as well as the usual black and white). Like the Revo, the MW925 is well-made and controls pronation effectively. But the Revo looks (looked) much better, and Brooks should bring it back post haste. (No, I don't work for Brooks, nor have I ever met anyone in the company.)

Relatively comfortable, but somewhat crudely finished and clumsy in shape and style. As another reviewer put it, "Frankensteinish" would be a charitable description. These shoes also desperately need a rear pull-tab to assist in pulling them on...It's amazing that New Balance failed to include this basic feature on a relatively expensive product.

Good, But Could Be Better - I have worn several different versions of New Balance over the past 10 years or so; some better than others but generally a pretty good shoe. I have to admit that the 925 will serve its purpose as a walking shoe for me, but I will probably go back to a Rockport next time. The padding on the bottom of the shoe impressed me a first, but the more I wore them I began to notice how unforgiving the shoe is. The padding and/or sole seems to be extremely hard, providing no bounce in your step at all, sort of like walking in a combat boot.

This shoe is moderately comfortable, although excesssively loose in heel and lacing is difficult at best. But given that other manufacturers only build wide shoes, it's the only game in town.

MW925 - The shoe isn't comfortable, trying it on the carpet didn't give me the full feeling. Once I wore it outside I realized it wasn't very comfortable.

Size issue. Oddly sized, too wide in the heel, too narrow at the ball of the foot. Looks OK though.

New Balance 925's - I am a big fan of New Balance shoes, however the 925's have been disappointing. Right out of the box, they were very comfortable, but I noticed that there was very little support of any kind. In addition, the soles feel like those on sneakers (IIRC from my childhood!). If I step on a piece of gravel in a parking lot for example, I can feel the stone pressing into the sole of my foot, much more than say New Balance's MW 976 for example. It would not be hard to bruise the ball of your foot while wearing these shoes. For this amount of money one can find much better shoes (like the 976). The reason I originally purchased these was that I wanted a black walking shoe in size 13 EEEE. From my past experience with New Balance shoes, I believed the 925's would be a good choice. WRONG! I am here at Zappos looking for a replacement for the 925's because the left shoe actually split where the leather meets the rubber sole. I will continue to buy New Balance shoes, but I will be a little more weary from now on.

Half a pair is not very good. These shoes were very roomy in the 6E model, except accross the bridge of the foot. The NB guide says thes have a high last, but they didn't fit my right foot. The left foot was OK.

925 Review - I wanted the 841 in black and New Balance suggested the 925. It doesn't come close to the 841 for comfort or support. Sorry...

Nothing like I'd expect from New Balance - As one who wears almost exclusively NB Products; I was highly disappointed with this one. I was looking for comfortable shoes for the little walking I can do around my living area [mainly use a wheelchair]. Comfort is a premium for me & these did not cut it for me--suffering from neuropathy.
