I am 5'1" and always have a hard time finding boots that will fit. These boots hit at the right spot! Usually boots make me look even shorter but these boots have the right shaft size for petite woman. I would definitely recommend these boots for women on the smaller side. The quality of the boot is outstanding. They are a little tight around my calf. However, I am able to wear my skinny jeans with them and I think they will also loosen up a bit. The dark brown color is beautiful.

I bought these boots in Saddle and instantly fell in love with them the moment I opened the box. The color looks even better in person, they are incredibly well-made and very comfortable in the foot bed. My problem with them is the boot shaft. I am not a large person, but I could barely manage to shove my calves in them! I called the Frye company to ask if this could have been just a fluke or if it's just the style of this particular boot. They suggested I have them stretched out a bit by a cobbler, so that's what I'm going to do. They're just too beautiful to send back!

I ordered these because the reviews said the calves were narrow, and I have skinny legs. The reviews were spot-on, these do not flare or gape at the top at all, but there is still room for jeans. I did not keep them because there is a lot of bunching at the ankle. They fit a bit like rain boots, with no real shape to them. I think I need boots with zippers.

This is my 6th pair of Frye boots; unfortunately, the least comfortable. They are very stiff (granted, they need breaking in) and run narrow for me. Also, the grain is different for each boot so one looks a bit darker. Still, I love this boot! My calves are not big and this boot fits them perfectly. I will be wearing these with dresses and jeans, tucked in or out.

I measure between a size 6 and a size 6.5. After two pregnancies, my foot has spread a bit, and now I more often wear a 6.5 or even a 7 sometimes. I tried these shoes in a size 7 first. They swamped me. So I then went for the six. I thought they would be OK because leather stretches, but they are tight in the toe-box for me. The leather is very thick and hard. Breaking these in will take a while. I may take them to a cobbler to stretch them for me. These are very beautiful boots. The craftsmanship is perfect. I continue to wear them at least 3 times a week despite the pinching because they are so gorgeous. Also, I have plantar fascitis (fallen arches) and these shoes hold my feet together and despite a sore little toe, the bottoms of my feet feel very good at the end of the day and the next morning, unlike the days when I wear "comfortable" shoes, like tennis shoes or fitflops. I think the arch support is excellent even without an insert.

I ordered the Banana leather, and they are really beautiful. They run large - I ordered a half size smaller than I usually wear. No arch support means they are uncomfortable to wear when you’re on your feet all day, but I think an insole would help. The leather is stiff and so I think they will take awhile to break in, but I love them anyway.

Love my boots! They are comfy and go with everything. The only thing I suggest is if you have a high instep or a wider foot go up half a size, the boot runs small.

I didn’t trust the reviewers who said order a size down - and I should have! I always wear an 8-8.5 and on my second order finally ended up in a 7.5 in these boots. The fit initially was odd - very loose in the heel area and super tight in the toes. Thick socks, thin socks, tights, I tried it all to make these babies work and still ended up having to take them to the boot man to have the toe area stretched (cost $8). Again I always run true to size and if anything, ends up going UP in size, but with these boots I went DOWN. I have a narrow foot and have never encountered shoes that are too small in the toe area. Still breaking them in with duct tape on the heels on days I know I’ll be walking a lot, but my goodness do they look nice! I don’t usually suffer for fashion, but I know once these beauties are broken in I’ll have them forever! Love Zappos for their wonderful customer service!

First, I must say that Zappos was extremely fast in shipping these boots as I received them in 2 days. As for the boots, I don't agree that they run a 1/2 size large. I usually wear a size 8 for a shoe that I do not wear socks with (sandals, heels) and a size 8 1/2 for shoes that require socks (tennis shoes, boots). I first tried a size 8 because of the previous reviews and they were so tight on my toes that I had to return them for a size 8 1/2 which fit perfectly on my foot. The problem was the ankle of the boot rubbed when I walked and made my ankle sore even when I was wearing socks. I could not justify spending this much on a pair of boots that might not break in and stop rubbing my ankle. So although these are really cute casual boots, I will be returning them.

I've wanted a pair of these for 10 years. I finally splurged and bought them. I am a size 7 and got a 7. The 6 1/2 I couldn't even slip my heel into. So despite the reviews saying they run large, I found that they are true to a perfect size 7. My main complaint is the calf width. I am a 5'4" skinny woman with what I thought was slim calves. Much to my horror (did I suddenly get fat calves?) and surprise the calves are very tight. I will only be able to wear thin socks or tights with these. Anything else will not fit. I will keep them because I love the look. I just hope that they will stretch a bit. The leather is very, very stiff so they will need a lot of breaking in. Here's hoping they will last a lifetime and break in beautifully! Plus, they are made in the USA! I will always support products made in USA!

Cool, classic boots - OK, I love these boots. I would have given 5 stars across the board, but the calf is a bit snug and I'd like them to be about an inch taller. These were comfortable from the first wear for me. I have an average width foot. I've worn them almost daily for two weeks now, and I only noticed yesterday a little pinching in the right small toe, but today, no problem. I think it has to do with the sock I wore. I am sort of short (5'3 3/4") and a runner, so my calves just fit in the 15" calf area. Actually really perfect on the left leg, but a bit snug on my right. This part of the boot cannot be stretched by the little old Italian shoe-repair-guy (so he said.) He also said that it will give a little with wear, but not a lot because it is leather with leather lining (double layer). None-the-less, I wear them. I love them. Mostly with skirts/tights and jeans. They are classic and appear to be super durable. Oh, yeh, I ordered a 6.5 and that is perfect. I usually wear a 7, like in the Frye Harness boots which I also love.

Great quality but not for me - I got a Sunrise color, which out of the box looks very orange, like cheese puffs. Maybe banana would have been better. Very well-constructed, all-leather sole and all, so I can see it lasting forever. But I have a slightly wide foot and the toe box pinches my small toe. I think it'll be too painful to break this in. It wasn't love at 1st sight, so I don't want to deal with any pain. I am petite, size 5.5, and this seemed to be a bit much, with the orange color & thick clunky style. Wouldn't recommend for wide feet. If you are petite, maybe the other colors would be better.

Fit across toe area is tight/careful choosing colors - I got the Frye Campus 14L boots about 2 mos. ago. I ordered the saddle color. I did not like the color as it was too orange for my taste. It is hard to judge the colors on the website. But since Zappos has THE best return policy- it's not a big deal. I sent it back (for free!) & reordered the same boots in dark brown. I received them the next day & I really like this color better. It is much more versatile. I think they are great, classic, casual boots that I will keep for years. Love the look. They do not have great arch support and are very narrow across the toe area. Hopefully they will stretch. I have a narrow small foot (size 6 to 6.5) and they are very tight in the width. I ordered a 6 and the length is fine. If you have a wide foot- I would not suggest this boot for you. Zappos is the best online company. Great service- fast & free- no hassles. Can you ask for more than that?

Great Boots - I just received my Frye Campus 14L boots. They are really comfortable little disappointed about the color. I ordered them in Saddle and expected them to be a little darker then they were. I ordered them in an 8.5 and I'm usually a 9 and they fit well. A little big in the heel part but overall, they fit great.

Not for me - The boot was made well, but was too chunky for me. It felt clunky and heavy. I have the harness 14l and love it, but this is not feminine on my big feet and thick calves.

Almost perfect... These are beautiful boots that I have coveted for at least two years... they are taking a while to break in, however. The advice to buy a half-size down was good, but the toe box is fairly narrow. My foot is already a bit narrow and I'm still getting a bit squeezed in the right foot. I think it will loosen up, as the left foot feels perfect as is. The boots are fantastic looking - gorgeous leather - and the stacked heel is a sight to behold. I know these boots will be my faves for many years to come!

I love these boots, they are just so stylish and go with everything. They are pretty comfortable but it took 3 attempts to find a pair that matched in both size and colouring, maybe because they are handmade. Only complaints are one of them seems to let water in and the demin from jeans seems to wear off on them, making them a bit grubby. I intend to buy another pair for sure. Finally I must comment on Zappos Customer service - it's by far the best I have experienced, the Americans could really teach us Brits a few things !!!

So frustrating! First pair ordered for my daughter in regular size 8 - too tight, and no pull loops stitched on inside. Paid the return shipping and just received replacement size 8. 5. These DO have pull loops, but my feet are absolutely swimming in them. (She and I wear the same size. ) Am I going to be out another $20 in return shipping just to take my chances with a third pair??

I have noticed there is a lot of inconsistency in quality and sizing. I find the made in USA to be slightly better quality and stitching compared to the made in Mexico. /i bought a two pairs of campus boot both in size 11 while pregnant after pregnancy i noticed they were slightly big. So one day happened to be in Nordstrom and saw them and decided to try on a 10 the 10 fit perfectly, the next day i wanted to purchase the 10 and my foot could not go down in the boot i told the guy this is impossible i tried the 10 yesterday and it fit perfectly he went back grabbed another 10 which was the one i had tried on previously and it fit perfectly. Ive compared the two i now have and the look slightly different. Frye we can tell when corners are being cut stick to what we know you for quality and craftsmanship

Please get rid of the silver, no one likes a trendy color at this price point ( just being real). Ppl want a classic color for a classic style boot at this price. Try olive green, deep blue, even a light gray would be nice.

Ok so first order I got, they came in, fit just right, so I wore them out for the day. By the next morning- I went to put them on the sole was splitting. So I returned for the same pair in hopes theyd be fine. Well, I get the seven pair and I cant even get them on, the arch or heel seam was way too tight and WAY different than the other pair. Also, to note- the first pair didnt have the inner pull tabs and the second pair did. For $450+ youd think these would be inspected better. Frye!!! Make them like yall did in the 1970s !!!

These have been on my most wanted list for years & finally took the plunge. Initially ordered my usual 7. 5 size but they were fairly loose. True leather boots will stretch & they would have been too sloppy when walking. I do have a wide foot, sweet bunion on one, and they were loose. reordered the 7 and they are a smidge tight but know they will stretch. I have average to bigger ish muscular calves, any bigger and the boot would be tight & may not work with skinny jeans. Quality is good to great. . . not quite as good as the older version a friend of mine has but a well-made boot. Super thrilled I have them & definitely recommend

Received my first pair of Frye boots for my 50th Birthday and ready to rock these for 50 more years However, the left boot at the top stitching has almost a plastic substance in the stitching sticking out on the top inner boot that was so uncomfortable and made a scratch mark on my leg. I have tried to call Frye Customer Service for a few days and can not get through, also sent 2 emails. For this high cost investment, I expect this stitching to not hurt. I dont want to have to wear knee high socks every time. Hoping this can be fixed! I have my eyes on the Harness 12 for Mothers Day as I am hoping to be obsessed with Frye! Please help as I dont want to doctor up these $$$ boots on my own.
