They do run a half size big and I did not like the way the boots fit around the ankle.

Loved them online. The chunky heel and classic simplicity sold me. I know they're supposed to be weathered, but a little too much for my liking. Looks like someone took a key and scratched up both toes so every time you look down, that's what you see. So many scratches!! They went a little overboard in their attempt to weather them. And, I originally ordered 8 1/2 in black, really loose, everywhere. Had to return. So I reordered an 8 in the whiskey, and while the foot was sized appropriately. The calf circumference was so tight I couldn't get a pair of jeans tucked in! I had to return. I was very disappointed all around with my experience. I really wanted these boots!!! If you order, they run big in the foot, and inconsistent in the calf. Maybe I just got a irregular 8? Shouldn't be a huge difference in calf circumference between an 8 and 8 1/2. Good luck!

What am I missing here?! I take these out of the box and they're as stiff as plywood. Maybe I got a defective pair that's been dried up? For the price, I'm expecting to be able to wear them out of the box. After reading the reviews, some said to go a half size down, the other half say to order your true size. I decided to order my true size, which is a 7. I don't think I have really wide feet, but typically the less narrow the better. These boots are Wide. I could imagine them being comfortable if they were soft leather, but slipping my foot into it, felt like I was wearing a piece of wood. Back to Zappos they go! Tear.

Not what I expected - I own a few pairs of Frye boots, so when I bought these, I had high expectations. I loved the Dorado short and the Tall Paige riding boots. These, on the other hand, were awful. They were not comfortable whatsoever. The shoe's frame is awkward.

Poor Quality - I bought these boots last winter and loved them! In March the sole of the right boot began to separate from the rest of the boot. I called Frye and they said they would exchange within a year, with a receipt. I didn't have my receipt anymore, so they won't take them back. Now the sole has come off completely. Frye boots are not made like they used to be! Be warned!

Calf was too big and made the boots look clunky

I expected something slick that didn't fall off my calf and look clucky and droopy. Really disappointed, given all the positive reviews.

Ordered these a couple years ago, am not one who spends this much money on shoes. But loved the look and know they're great quality. Sadly after returning 3 times, I gave up. Zappos was awesome about returns, but these boots are sized very weirdly. Normally wear an 8 1/2, returned these 3 times, was down to a size 6 or maybe 6 1/2, still huge! Oh well,unless you know your size in Frye, I'd suggest trying on in store first. To bad, awesome shoes.

Defective pair! The inner leather lining of the right boot was oversized and bunched up around the ankle and heel. Totally unwearable. Otherwise the boot seemed fine...a little tight on my calf, but would have been wearable if not defective.

These look cute on the website, but once on make my leg look like an elephant's leg. These kind of pucker and are a heavy boot. Maybe that is because these are pull on boots. I have a different pair of boots that are zip ups and those are a lot better fit. Sending these Campus 14L back.

I'm sending these back, unfortunately, but was disappointed in the style and fit. I wear a regular width, but I've tried a few pairs of Fryes, shoes and boots, and they're consistently way more narrow than marked. The calf width was fine, however. I ordered the black, and it may be that in this color, the style looks unappealing -- would possibly look better in another color. I didn't think it was particularly flattering around the ankle area either -- straight with no shape whatsoever. The leather is good quality, but very stiff. I just knew my feet would be killing me if I tried to wear these even for an hour. It looks like a cool, funky boot in the photos, but I didn't think so in person. Boo! Still searching.

These boots were not comfortable when new, and by the time they finally broke in, the sole started coming apart. I will never by Frye boots again after this -- such a waste of money.
