Beautiful color (saddle) but the shaft height hit me at the widest part of my calf and looked very unflattering. I never knew I had big calves - still not sure that I do - but where these hit on my legs just looked terrible -- which is sad because I want these boots! The look classic and expensive. However, I'm going to have to find a different style of Frye with a taller shaft.

Difficult to break in. What was I thinking? While this was the boot of my long ago youth, recapturing that youth has been far too difficult in breaking these Fryes in. I have a high instep, so the width across the ball of my feet has been challenging here.

Gorgeous boots but sadly they'll be going back. I have never had an issue with boots being too tight on my calves, but I could hardly get these on bare legs and would never have been able to fit them over tights or skinnies. True to size everywhere else but very narrow around the calf area. Love my other Frye boots but have to part with these.

I really wanted to love these boots, but couldn't. The heel and color and toe were great, but the shaft was super baggy around the ankle. They ended up looking awful.

I have been scoping out these boots for years. I finally decided this is the year that I buy my first pair of Frye boots! So I purchased the Frye Campus 14L in Blazer Brown Leather. I received my boots and was really impressed with the quality of the leather and construction of the boots. I put the boots on; while they were a bit tight in the calf area, the boots fit well. They were very comfortable...until I starting walking in them. I barely went from my door to the car and noticed the side seem in the boot rubbed my ankle. I thought that I would just break them in, but by the time I had made it to my office a giant blister had formed on my ankle where the seem was rubbing. I'm so disappointed, but I had to return my boots. I will definitely be buying another pair of Frye boots from Zappos, just a different style.

These were not what I expected. The foot part runs small and the shaft of the boot is wider than I hoped. I really want something more snug to the leg. I ordered the Banana Leather and they are definitely very yellow! I guess I just need to keep looking for a pair of boots I'll like!

Beautiful boots, but I should have listened to the other reviewers who noted that the sizing runs big. I am usually a 9 1/2 so that's what I ordered, but I definitely need the 9. Will be returning these for either a smaller size or different style.

I read the reviews and ordered a 7 1\/2, as I usually wear either a 7 1\/2 or 8. I managed to get the boots on exactly once. After that, I could put the left one on but couldn\'t again figure out how to jam my foot into the right one. It\'s not that the boots are too small, because once they were on, they fit great. I guess my arches are high? Anyway, I was really looking forward to these boots and I\'m sad that I have to return them.

I ordered these boots two times. I returned my first pair because they were a whole size too big (I ordered a half size smaller in the first place because of other reviews, but they were still too sloppy on my feet). I also returned my first pair because the leather color was completely different on the two boots (dark brown on one and yellowish on the other). I mentioned this when I returned them. The second pair I received fit perfectly; however, the coloring was significantly off again. I\'m returning them as well and I\'m going to get my boots from somewhere else. Zappos had great customer service and I think they would be great to order from for tennis shoes or shoes that aren\\\'t made of leather. Quality for these shoes appeared below par, unfortunately.

Boots - I received my boots, I normally wear an 8, I ordered a 7 and a half, a bit tight in the toe... Loose in the heel like I have read. Tight in the calf, and I am a little person. I am not waiting to break anything in for months or years for what I paid for these. Sorry. I ordered the saddle, and the color is very nice though. I do have to say that much. No boot is worth that much pain. So, I fill find something else that will fit me better, and look better on me for three hundred bucks, that are just as good quality I am sure. Thank you~

These boots were not made for walking... I love the look of these boots, but they are less than comfortable. The heel is loose/slips and the toe box is just tight enough to drive me nuts (to be fair, I have a slightly wide foot but I ordered true to size when the general consensus seems to be going down a 1/2 size). My hope is that they will continue to break in over time, but after a few weeks' wear I'm still subjecting my feet to pain for the sake of fashion.

Long break-in period - I'm finding that these shoes need a significant amount of break-in. The first time I wore them I got a huge blister on the back of my ankle. I was looking for a sturdy boot to get me through winter, and as a result the leather is stiffer than I'm used to. I am confident that once broken in they will be great...

Boots - I thought they would be a bit more comfortable being an expensive and well known brand. Maybe I just need to break them in or get a leather softener.

No support - I just wore mine for the twelfth time after purchasing them a year ago exactly. I got them in lavender so they look really nice with my spring skirts... however, they are really not comfortable. They pinch me right at my little toe nail and if I had known this pinch would not work it's way out after a few wearings, I would have returned them. I find them uncomfortable overall.

The boot fit well but the leather appeared to be painted and had flaked off near the front toe. I was very disappointed given how expensive these boots are.

I was dissapointed with these. I have the button riding boot and they are a little too small, but very well padded. These are pretty hard on the bottom and the toe is very boxy, similar to a construction boot. Didn't look good on my size 11 feet unfortunately.

I wanted to love these boots. They are so cute, but they are way too narrow in the toe box area and too big in the heel area. My foot slips out every time I walk. The toes have no room to move so I must sent them back... I have 2 pairs of short Frye's and love them so I am so disappointed I have to return them.

They do run a half size big and I did not like the way the boots fit around the ankle.

Loved them online. The chunky heel and classic simplicity sold me. I know they're supposed to be weathered, but a little too much for my liking. Looks like someone took a key and scratched up both toes so every time you look down, that's what you see. So many scratches!! They went a little overboard in their attempt to weather them. And, I originally ordered 8 1/2 in black, really loose, everywhere. Had to return. So I reordered an 8 in the whiskey, and while the foot was sized appropriately. The calf circumference was so tight I couldn't get a pair of jeans tucked in! I had to return. I was very disappointed all around with my experience. I really wanted these boots!!! If you order, they run big in the foot, and inconsistent in the calf. Maybe I just got a irregular 8? Shouldn't be a huge difference in calf circumference between an 8 and 8 1/2. Good luck!

What am I missing here?! I take these out of the box and they're as stiff as plywood. Maybe I got a defective pair that's been dried up? For the price, I'm expecting to be able to wear them out of the box. After reading the reviews, some said to go a half size down, the other half say to order your true size. I decided to order my true size, which is a 7. I don't think I have really wide feet, but typically the less narrow the better. These boots are Wide. I could imagine them being comfortable if they were soft leather, but slipping my foot into it, felt like I was wearing a piece of wood. Back to Zappos they go! Tear.

Not what I expected - I own a few pairs of Frye boots, so when I bought these, I had high expectations. I loved the Dorado short and the Tall Paige riding boots. These, on the other hand, were awful. They were not comfortable whatsoever. The shoe's frame is awkward.

Poor Quality - I bought these boots last winter and loved them! In March the sole of the right boot began to separate from the rest of the boot. I called Frye and they said they would exchange within a year, with a receipt. I didn't have my receipt anymore, so they won't take them back. Now the sole has come off completely. Frye boots are not made like they used to be! Be warned!
