This is a beautiful quality boot. I ordered my usual size 9.5 and it fit true to size. The leather is gorgeous and I so badly wanted to keep this boot but had to return because of bunion. These boots are also quite heavy which may be a consideration for some people. Zappos' customer service is the absolute best and unbeatable!

I have had these same boots for the last 35 years and am still wearing them! My boots are a chestnut brown with gold stitching on the shaft. I remember purchasing them in my sophomore year in high school, 1976 and I am still wearing them! Beautiful, timeless, classics!

I wanted these to work so very badly, but they are not for a slim narrow foot. I ordered a half size down as recommended, so the length was, ok but they were huge everywhere else. Frye quality is fantastic as usual. Frye shoes work great for me, just not their boots. Thanks Zappos for free shipping and returns!

I have really pronated (flat) feet and they have become wider after years of wearing Danskos and Earth shoes. I am a true 8 wide, but usually wear 8.5 (38 or 39 in Danskos). I bought these boots in 8.5 and they are perfect. I could fit an 8 barefoot or with tights, but I wanted to be able to wear them with wool socks for winter. The 8.5 is perfect and has a nice foot bed. The heel is nice and it didn't tip me forward like the Carmen side zip did. If they loosen over time, I will add an orthotic, but right now they fit great and feel great. I have about plenty of toe space and the instep is snug enough to keep my foot from slipping forward. These boots feel so nice! They are heavy, but slim. I have smallish calves and have no problem wearing these with skinny jeans, but you can comfortably wear boot cut over the top, which is really nice.

I bought a pair of these in 2007, when I started teaching. After wearing them nearly all the time fall through spring, they're still going. They're good for walking and being on your feet all day, they go with pants or skirts. Mine have been resoled and reheeled, but they still look great. They're spendy, but will last you forever.

Sizing: 1/2 too big. Craftsmanship: Made in the U.S.A.! Great quality footwear, but (unfortunately) not refined enough for my taste, I'll return.

I bought these 8 years ago on sale not yet realizing the kind of amazing investment Frye's boots are. 8 years later, I have had them resoled once and one interior boot strap has come off, but other than that they have held up beautifully. I imagine these will last me another 8 years at least, and likely would live a lifetime if I had properly cared from them from the beginning. I over mink oiled them not knowing the damage it was doing the first 6 years so they slouch now at the ankle, but it does't seem to matter. I still get compliments on them daily. I will says, I remember it taking a significant amount of time to break them in. I have bunions and the narrow square shape of the front of the boot is very stiff which caused some painful rubbig the first year, but they now fit perfectly and I can wear them all day.

I am so happy with these boots. The leather is so smooth and rich. I normally wear a 9 but bought the 8.5 because of reviews saying they run large. I have C width feet and the 8.5 feels too narrow on me but the length is good. I think I will keep them and see if I can have a boot fitter make them just a tad wider. I read a review that said these boots made her legs bloody. I noticed that there was some sharp nylon stitching that was knotted at the end inside the top of the boot and it scraped my legs too. I just got some sharp scissors and snipped the sharp little ends of the stitching off and problem solved. I got the Banana and they are a little more light yellow than the photo online. My calves are 14.5 and the boots still have plenty of room at the top. I also have very high arches which can be a problem getting boots on and off but I had no issues with these boots. Bottom line, I love these boots and I will be happy to keep them for years to come. I just also purchased the Frye Jenna and they are very classy, look great with skirts.

I regrettably gave my 1st pair of Frye boot to my 1st child; same color and style, but larger size. People chuckled when I mentioned Frye boots. Difficult to find, etc. I happily found them on the Internet chit-chatted with one very friendly Zappos employee who answered all of my questions; I ordered a pair and had them the next day. They didn't fit, so after calling and getting approval to return them, I received a larger size in the same color and style in 2 days only because of time I called. They are great - I'm from the '60s.

I love these boots and they fit my criteria perfectly. I carry a toddler on the NY subway every day and wanted a pair of boots that I could wear with a skirt but were still very stable. As I buy my shoes to last I was looking for something classic and stylish but not in one day out the next fashionable and these are it. Besides, those sort of boots don't seem to come in a low heel anyway. My feet are also of varying sizes: the smaller one is wider and the larger one is normal width and these boots adjusted well with just a few wears. My only issues with wearing them is that a heel is still a heel and my feet aren't used to even a small heel - but that's not the boot's fault.

Best. Boots. Ever. Bought them in the Saddle, and the marbling effect is much more subtle than appears in the photo. Incredibly well made boots (made in USA). The ball of the foot runs a bit more narrow than, say, the Engineer boot, but I bought my usual Frye boot size of 9 and the fit is perfect--just enough room to slip in an insert for more arch support. I have a moderately high arch, narrow heel, and wider forefoot (i.e., bordering on duck feet), and these boots slip on and off with ease. The shaft is perfect, as well. My calves measure 14", so I have an inch to spare if I want to wear these with skinny jeans tucked in; with jeans out, boot line doesn't show under straight-leg or boot-cut jeans. Seriously love these boots.

We bought these boots for our daughter-in-law for Christmas because they were on her list. I could not find them in the stores and was so thrilled that Zappos had them. Personally, I think $300 for a pair of boots is outlandish but she loves them. She put them on immediately after opening them and they fit perfectly and were very comfortable. She also loves the color that she picked.

Yes, they are expensive. Get them anyway. I promise it will be an investment, bring you lots of pleasure and loads of compliments. Order your size, wear them with anything and everything, and prepare to feel chic, sassy, and a bit edgy. Oh, and be ready to answer with "they're Frye Campus boots - you can find them on Zappos." Now go order some tights, some cool boot socks, and prepare to be cool-funky.

After reading some of the reviews I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable these boots are to walk in. I do a lot of walking and one thing I have noticed is that it's definitely more comfortable to wear thicker socks. I was worried about the calf circumference as I have very narrow calves but it actually doesn't look bad at all. I think these boots have a timeless style and overall I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I am new to the Frye boots. At least over the last 6 months, in which time I have bought 4 pair! I am addicted. The campus 14L seems to fit just a tad bit tighter than the harness, but I did just fine with the same size as my harness boots. My right foot is slightly bigger than my left and the right boot was just a little tight on the top of my foot (I have a high arch), but after wearing them for 3 hours they stretched out and fit great now. I would say I have average size calves and the Campus fits them well. The only negative thing I would have to say is that they are a little loose in the ankle area, I notice it when I look down at them but looking in the mirror it isn't as noticeable. And I think they are looser through that area so they can be slipped on. I don't think if they were any tighter in the ankle area I could get them over my feet. I am thinking about trying the Sabrina next!

This is my second pair of Campus 14L boots. This time I got the Fawn color which is a beautiful tan/light brown. Very neutral and awesome. Great fit and style, especially if you like a little chunkiness. Love them.

This is my third pair of Fryes. I've been wanting a basic, classic boot for a long time. These are beautiful! I love Fryes so much. I'm a size 8 and I ordered an 8- they fit perfectly. But I also like to wear thick smartwool socks with my boots and I prefer them on the looser side. Plenty of room in the toe. Wore them right out of the box.

Best boots ever! I have the Frye engineer which I also love, but the campus are my favorite. They look great with everything. I got the blazer brown which is a dark rich looking color. For me I found them true to size, I'm a solid 7. I tried a 6 1/2 but so snug to the point of uncomfortable. I like wearing thicker socks anyway so the 7 is perfect. These boots are worth every penny, I know I'll be wearing them for years!

Best boots ever! Love these boots, wear them everywhere. So comfortable. I live in snow country so I new I would be wearing wool socks for fall/winter & I ordered the 7's because my other Frye boots run about 1/2 size bigger & they are perfect.

I am picky about shoes, always searching for something perfectly classic, yet somewhat trendy and always comfortable. Frye makes the most amazing boots that stand up to the test and are made in the USA to top it off (at least, I know my 3 different pairs are)! Can it get any better? These boots are so sharp, I'd prefer to never take them off! I know Frye runs on the pricey side for those of us who are working-class folks, but as long as you take good care of them and know of a good shoe repair shop for re-soling, etc. after long-term wear, you will have these boots for a lifetime. Worth every penny!

I LOVE these! For the past three years I have tried them on but would talk myself out of buying them due to the price. This year I broke down and purchased these boots. I have never been more satisfied with a pair of boots. They are the most comfortable boots ever! I'm already looking for my next pair of Frye boots to stalk!

These boots are simply gorgeous. I went back and forth between these and the 14G with the lug sole, and I ended up ordering both to compare. I think the 14L is a much nicer boot, and I like the smooth leather better--my husband said, "It looks like a $300 boot." I was concerned about the sizing, so I ordered an 8.5 and a 9, but the 9 is what fit me (and what I've been wearing in Danskos, a 40). So, for me, the sizing is true to the number. They look gorgeous and pretty with skirts, and my jeans tuck fine into them (I measured my calves at 14 3/4). So excited! And, almost best of all, they smell heavenly--like a saddle, in a good way.

I got my boots in the mail today and I love them! These are my first Frye boots. I read several reviews and decided to go down 1/2 size and they fit perfect! My advice is GET THEM! You will love them!

These boots are my new best friend. They look great with everything! The saddle color is warm and rich. I was concerned that they would be stiff and difficult to break in, but after only two or three wearings, they were super comfortable. I wanted these boots in the 70's, but couldn't afford them. I am so glad that I bit the bullet and bought them now. They will no doubt serve me for decades! One thing to keep in mind: they run big! I am usually a 8.5 or 9. So I ordered 8.5. They were definitely too big. I exchanged them for a 8, which is perfect. I probably could have even gone down to a 7.5, but I live in a cold climate and want room for thick socks.
