Comfortable sandals - I bought these sandals in the beige color and they are extremely comfortable. They needed no breaking-in period, as I was able to walk in them for hours upon receiving them, with no discomfort at all (no blisters either). I also like the way they look--they seem more flattering than Birkenstocks. I wear a 7 or 7 1/2 and ordered a 38, which are just about right (they are ever so slightly too long).

Mephisto Hannel - This is the first pair of Mephisto’s I've owned and they are wonderful! I've stopped wearing all my other sandals and am saving to buy another pair. I hesitated to buy them at first because I have a narrow foot and haven't been comfortable wearing 'Birkenstock type' shoes. But Hannel's two adjustable straps make these wearable for my narrow foot and the excellent arch support helps keep my foot in place. As recommended by Mephisto I ordered up one size (39) but they were huge so I had to send them back and order my usual size (38). Luckily this is no problem at all with Zappos. Their service is first rate and faster than any other on-line retailer I've bought from. Some people who've bought this shoe have recommended it as a walking shoe. I'm able to walk well enough in it for the usual walking I do throughout the day. But I find a walk of any distance is difficult because of the lack of ankle strap. The tradeoff for me is my feet and ankles don't swell in the summer heat wearing Hannel. This is a superb sandal. My only complaint is that I wish Mephisto made the foot bed a little narrower.

Very comfortable! These shoes offer great comfort without looking clunky. They are extremely comfortable. Definitely order a size up. I normally wear a 7 or 38 but ordered an 8 or 39, which fits me perfectly.

No foot pain. These sandals are very comfortable. I can walk very little when barefooted, but have no problem in these. I usually wear size 8 or 8 1/2, but the size 9's are just right. The straps felt stiff the first day, but were fine afterwards--no digging or cuts. They had a funny smell from the beginning, but since my feet don't hurt in them, I can live with it. The orange ones are cute.

Hurray for Hannel - Loved them the minute I put them on my feet! The fit was perfect. It is true you do need to order one size larger than you would usually wear.

The Best - These are great looking sandals -- I've gotten compliments on them every time I wear them! -- And SO comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and am on my feet much of the day & have had no pain at the end of the day which is amazing! I just ordered two more pairs in other colors! About the sizing -- I usually wear a 9, so ordered the 10 as recommended, but they were too long so had to exchange them for the 9 (however with the Mephisto Helen's, I DID need the 10!).

Love 'em - These shoes are incredibly comfortable and better looking on than you would think. Don’t be fooled, they are cute when you are wearing them! Order one size up than your usual...I am a firm 9 in every shoe, but I needed to re-order these in the 10. Same for my Mom and her pair.

I suffered from Plantar Fasciitis (sometimes referred to as Heel spur) for over a year, and was able to wear anything but athletic shoes with orthotics. I purchased a pair of Hannel while on vacation and unable to walk another step because of the sandals I tried to wear. The Hannels are so comfortable and provide such good arch control, that I have since purchased 4 more pair from Zappos. No more foot pain and I am able to wear attractive shoes!

Wonderful footwear! I bought these Mephisto's for my Mother on Mother's Day. (I own several pair) She absolutely loved the shoes. She feels that the sandals are very comfortable and solid. They are light though very supportive. These are my Mother's first pair of Mephisto's and she absolutely loves them. Thank you, Zappos.com!

Fab! I have this sandal in black and beige, and could not resist this lovely tangerine color. To my taste, it is the most comfortable of all the Mephisto sandals. It has the full cork sole, and just a bit of a raised heel. In the past, I have had several bouts of Plantar Fasciitis, and so I am really careful about finding shoes with good support and cushioning. These really baby my feet. Mephisto Hannel rocks!

Worth The Money - I have extremely high arches and plantar fasciitis. I'm thrilled to find Mephisto sandals because I can finally wear sandals without orthotics for several hours with no pain. These don't provide quite the arch support that the Mephisto Helen sandal does, but they are close (and they are much more fashionable). I'm normally cheap, but these are worth every penny.

Mephisto Hannel - Once again Zappos had the shoes to my house within two days of placing the order. These shoes are total comfort. I have bad bunions and these shoes not only hide some of the bunion, but are total comfort immediately. I will be ordering them in other colors.

These are my favorite Mephisto’s now - This is my 8th pair of Mephisto sandals in various styles and this is my favorite, by far! The fit was perfect for my arch and instantly comfortable--no breaking in needed. That has been the case with all my Mephisto’s actually. I love the look of this one, actually makes my size 9 feet look smaller, which is an added bonus. I liked these so well I ordered a tan pair the day after I received the black ones.

Mephisto Hannel Scores with Me- I'm a fan of Mephisto shoes. Mostly I like the Elka and Helen, but when I saw a Hannel on sale, I tried it. I wore it all day and loved it so much I bought three more colors at regular price. This shoe is dressier than some others of this brand and very comfortable.

Mephisto Hannel - Exceptional comfort and great looks all in one sandal. I have a few pairs of Mephistos in other styles and the Hannel lives up to Mephisto comfort. There's no break-in period and the shoe provides excellent support and prevents fatigue when standing and walking for long periods of time. I love the shade of blue and the price is cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. I love the quick deliver time - thanks Zappos.

Very pleased - Very comfortable to wear all day long. Not too heavy, but with good support. Required no break in time.

I love the style of these Mephisto. I had a different pair in the past that I loved and wore out. Not sure with mature feet that the cupped foot bed will work. I wish they were a little roomier.

I'm usually a 10 ,but these must run smaller ? I thought in Euro sizes I usually was a 41, but these were a 40. they felt good other than the size was too small/short. The color looked bland and the style wasn't quite what I had hoped for either

This shoe fits me perfectly—now. I had to have the straps narrowed down at a shoe repair store because they were too wide to fit the buckle so that the last, smallest holes could be used. I don’t know why a manufacturer would create a size adjustment that is unavailable to the user, unless it looks better. Anyway, this was an additional cost and inconvenience to the shoes, which, in fact, I like very much. I’d buy another pair in a different color, but I don’t want to go through this again. If your feet are on the narrow side of medium, this shoe may not fit.

I love the style and the color is exactly as shown in picture. Very soft comfortable leather straps and sole. As I wear them more the leather is stretching and I might have to punch more holes on the leather straps. After walking for awhile my feet do start to hurt. The leather is rubbing near my little toes but no where else. They tend to slip off easily so adding an ankle strap would be nice!

Length seemed good but a bit wide, I put the straps on last hole and I know they will stretch some and then will be slipping and sliding of my feet. Did order size up as instructed.

Mephisto Hannel has been my go-to sandal for all-year-round wear. They are extremely comfortable and have great arch support. They are wide, however, but my shoe repair guy glues a piece of suede to the inner sole, which adds just enough thickness to make them fit perfectly. I wear them indoors all winter, with socks. Much more comfortable than slippers because I need the support.

Well first of all the fit is a little odd. The material a little ruff so I haven’t worn except to try on . They look comfortable but may have to wear in

First time trying Mephisto. My feet are regular width but on the narrow side. In my early 30s and as I get older, importance of support is increasing or my feet ache by end of day. Loved the footbed on these, very comfortable. Didn't love the style, mainly the shape of the buckles. Seemed better suited for someone older.
