Exactly What I Wanted! I took the Mephisto's advice and ordered a size bigger - the shoes fit perfectly - they fit like a glove and like shoes I'd had forever. I walked five miles the first day I put them on and my feet, legs and back felt wonderful. They are stylish and comfortable - simply wonderful! Thanks Mephisto - as usual!

Comfortable - These shoes were suggested to me by a co-worker. I have plantar fasciitis, and these are one of the few sandals I can wear for long periods. Great service from Zappos.

Comfortable. A co-worker told me about Mephisto's. I have plantar fasciitis, and these are one of the few sandals I can wear for long periods. No "breaking in" necessary. Comfortable right out of the box. I followed advice and bought a size larger, and they fit perfectly. Zappos service rocks!

Ahhhhhh! Comfort. Quality. Arch support!!! I love them. I have PF and TTS in both feet and ankles. I can walk forever in them and have NO pain. Worth every $$$$. I no longer have to wear my prescribed orthotics. They have really helped me. Order 1 size up.

Great shoe - Very comfortable and stylish. So much cuter than Birkenstocks which I have had in the past. Love the black patent. These are a great shoe for looks and comfort. May run a bit small.

Problem feet - I have difficult feet to fit in shoes. 10 1/2 and very narrow with an arch that has fallen. I need some shoes that look half way dressy and this shoe fit the bill. I usually take a 41 but in this shoe I needed a 42.

Repeat purchase of sandals - September 9, 2008 A month ago I purchased my fourth pair of Mephisto Hannel sandals. I purchased my first pair three years ago at a local shoe store and have since ordered a yearly pair from Zappos in different colors. This is a very comfortable sandal for my high instep. I have worn Hannels on my yearly trips to Europe for the past four years and am planning another trip to Paris this coming October. I walk my legs off on each trip and I have not experienced any tiredness nor foot problems. The sandals also do not show any significant sign of wear. They are pricier than most, but worth every cent. Additionally, Zappos service is top-notch.

Surprisingly wide - This shoe was very wide. Helen was perfect, so I tried this style which disappointed me. I have the ankle strap tightened, but the toe strap is too hard. Consequently my foot feels like it is sliding.

Great Mephisto Sandal - Great arch support, very comfortable. Wish it were more attractive but for a cork bed sandal, not bad looking. Perfect for anyone with a fallen arch!

Mephistos are great - If you have any kind of foot problem or discomfort, Mephistos are the way to go! When I first started wearing them, styles were limited in my area....but now with Zappos, I can have a variety. I have foot problems and these are HEAVEN in a shoebox!!

Another 5 stars - As always, Zappos came through again with amazing delivery and a product that was exactly as advertised. Don't know how I lived without you.

Excellent shoe - I have trouble with most shoes due to no support. This shoe is very comfortable and has a good arch support which is mainly my problem in finding comfortable sandals. Zappos service is absolutely incredible. They came overnight! Thanks Zappos!!!

Very high arches - Really nice looking shoes. I ordered the red patent and when I received them I was in love with the look. When I tried them on and walked for 2 minutes in the house, I knew that I couldn't keep them. The arches are way too high for my flat feet and they were too painful to wear. I don't think it will get better, so had to returned them. I can see them working beautifully for someone with high arches. I normally wear 39 in Mephisto but these were perfect in size 38.

Great shoe! I already have 2 pairs of this shoe, so I knew I would be happy with the pair I ordered. I was disappointed in the color. I ordered white waxy, and the shoe that arrived was an off white, beige shoe. I was hoping for a true white, but perhaps this is Mephisto's version of white. It certainly is not white. Nonetheless, it is very comfortable. It does stretch out, and additional holes on the strap would be beneficial, especially for narrow feet. For those with wide, flat feet, this sandal is perfect.

Fabulous - This shoe meets Mephisto’s standard of excellence in every way. I wear it all day and everywhere because of the comfort and support it provides. The style is simplicity itself and goes anywhere, including weddings. I own four pair of Mephisto’s and love them. Zappos service was outstanding. Shoes arrived in 2 days.

Sandal of the Year Award! This is a great sandal! I have several orthopedic problems and this is the first sandal that I can wear and walk in all day and not have pain in my legs and feet at night. It is an attractive casual sandal that I have worn to work, out to dinner, and shopping. I ordered it in my usual size and one size up (as was recommended) and found that my usual size fit just fine. I love this shoe and have finally found a sandal that I can live in all day!

Love this sandal! These are great sandals. They are extremely comfortable and I love the excellent arch support. I got it in the black patent which is a little dressier/sexier. My shoe size is an 8.5 to 9 and I ordered the 39 which fits perfect. If you wear a 39 in Birkenstocks, you should order a 39 in Mephisto’s. After getting these, I don't think I'll every buy another pair of Birkenstocks. These are 10 times more comfortable!

I love these sandals! I have a terrible time finding shoes/sandals--I wear a triple or quadruple A, use orthotics, and am about to have knee replacement surgery! I have pretty much given up wearing backless shoes of any kind and am only comfortable in certain Wolky or Mephisto sandals. I love slip-on sandals in the summer, though, and decided to give these a try. Much to my surprise, they're great. My foot stays in them and I can adjust the straps as much as I want and cut off the ends. I'm not sure I would do a lot of walking in them but I can comfortably wear them day after day at work. And I love the patent leather which makes them spiffier.

Not Quite Wide Enough - I took a chance after reading the reviews, thinking the Mephisto Hannel might be wide enough for my foot. Unfortunately, even though the support was great and the sole was very comfortable, the sole was not wide enough at the ball of my foot. I have had surgery, and a shoe must fit properly and not push my toes together. Otherwise I experience pain and burning. I was crushed, because this sandal is very comfortable (more so than Birkenstocks, even the soft ones) and more attractive on my foot than Birkenstock. However, I've decided to go with Birkenstock Orlando because they fit my foot better. Unfortunately Zappos doesn't have it in black so I've got to go elsewhere. This is the perfect shoe for someone who needs exceptional support and has a perfect B width foot or narrower. I wish Mephisto would realize we are not all made with a perfect B width foot!

Cute, but... This is a cute sandal, good with jeans or skirts. It has a very high arch, higher than I'm used to with Finn Comforts, so it's not comfortable for me to wear all day without some foot pain. But they look good and are comfortable to wear in shorter spurts. Wish Finn would come up with cuter sandals, but till then I have to compromise comfort for looks.

Great experience - This past month has been my first experience working with Zappos and I could not be more satisfied. From surprising next day deliveries at no charge to exchanges I needed to make for size, to great product - perfect experience. I had a hiccup initially trying to get the right size but thanks to Zappos it was painless! Thank you for amazing service and a great experience, I will be visiting this site often!

Cute and comfortable, what more can you ask? My husband loves Mephisto sandals, but I always thought they're ugly and for old people. I started seeing them for women in different styles and colors and had to try them. I have bunions and these are awesome. And, they look great dressed up or down. Birkenstocks tried to make cute shoes for women way back and these are far superior. They are pricey, but worth every penny since I live in them.

This is one of the most comfortable sandals I have ever worn! I own several Mephisto sandals (and love them all) but this one ranks as a favorite. Excellent arch support, comfortable foot bed and cute (I have the leopard print). I would highly recommend this sandal.

Ultimate comfort - I have a narrow foot and the style of this shoe with adjustable straps fits perfectly. I liked all the color choices. A great comfortable every day shoe.

Heaven - These shoes are the most comfortable shoes I've ever purchased. I encounter nerve damage in my feet and these shoes are wonderful to walk in. Of course, I purchased two other pairs!
