I am wearing a pair of these shoes that I've worn for 13 years. I've worn holes through the soles but the stitching is all intact. I've never had a more durable pair of deck shoes. My only regret is that they are currently only offered in one color, Raisin.

Puppy Mishap!
I was visiting friends in Orlando right before Christmas and my little dog, Mistletoe, pooed in my friend's favorite shoes!! They did not have them on the Dockers website, nor anywhere else I looked, until a friend at work told me about Zappos! Not only did they have the Dockers I needed, the price was amazing! I was able to include a gift card from Mistletoe to her "Uncle Dave" apologizing and replacing the shoes! And they arrived in just a couple days! He was thrilled to get the new pair and says they are just as comfortable as the old ones and that Mistletoe is welcome back at his home anytime! Thanks, Zappos!

I love these shoes, but I was disappointed in the fact that after just a month of very occasional use, it developed a small hole in its sole. Now every time I take a step, I hear the sound of air go in and out of the sole. Other than than, they are great shoes.

So far these shoes are the squeakiest pair I've ever owned. I expect that will diminish in time. Also, these are listed under the loafer section, but there are ties on them, so they really aren't loafers. Aside from a bit of a stiffness around the top edge, these are a snappy looking pair of shoes.

Would help not to have a broken BIG TOE, while breaking it in -
They are breaking in OK, some discomfort in upper heel area on right side shoe, but that may have a bearing from a BIG broken toe on the right foot! So far, the Chinese made shoes, seem to be as good as the old American made ones? No complaints, except didn't have a wider size to order...
I'd also recommend:
Any decent leather MOC/boat shoe, lace up or loafer, with/without tassels.

A long break in...
I bought these to be my sockless shoes. Turns out they're pretty stiff and the sides are a bit high. I ended up with red welts under my ankle bones. Not being a quitter, I persevered and broke them in a few hours at a time. They are now comfortable sockless shoes, except the insole feels a little grubby.

The Castaways are "OK"...Craftsmanship seems to be above average. Look is good except not true to color shown or advertised. Raisin looks more like an odd lighter brown...Shoes are not true to fit...feel a full size larger...shoe back rubs on Achilles tendons...maybe needs to be broken in. Overall a three out of five.

I like everything about these boat moccasin style shoes, except they squeak loudly, when walking! I had to return the first pair. The second pair I received also squeaks but not as loudly. I am hoping that the squeaking will lessen with wear, but this seems doubtful. As usual, Zappos delivery and return service was superb! This is why I rated these shoes two stars instead of one.

These were the first pair of boat shoes I've ever bought, and I was not that impressed. The price was reasonable, but at first wearing them was impossible because it hurt the back of my ankles so much. I had them stretched at a shoe repair shop for about $8, and after that was very content with them. However, after about 4-5 months of everyday use, these shoes were about destroyed. The bottom of the soles had already started to peel off, and the inside lining of them had since been worn away and although it wasn't exactly uncomfortable, it was quite a bother. I will probably attempt to buy another brand for my next boat shoes and hope they last longer than the 4-5 months these did.
