Great for Instructors - I'm a Yoga & Pilates instructor and I find these shoes invaluable. The Velcro lets you kick them off very easily when you need to and then easily put them back on (like in the Pilates studio). They're also pretty cute and you could wear them alone in the summer or with matching socks they just look like part of the shoe (I have the black ones). Very convenient and comfortable. Built like a sneaker but looks like a tough Mary Jane. A must for any instructor or busy person!

If I could they'd be my only!!!! I have a small bunion and orthotics; these shoes are awesome for me. They are beyond comfortable and I can wear them all day. They are great for travel, easily slip off and on, and walk, stand, hike, go anywhere!!

Great Shoes! I have gotten so many compliments on these shoes. They are so comfortable. I wear them all the time. Everyone seems to want a pair! Great for aerobics and just for walking around town.

An attractive and comfortable shoe - I find this shoe to be very comfortable and I’ve received several compliments on how attractive they are. These shoes are perfect if you wear orthotics because they have a removable inserts.

Great shoe BUT - I love this shoe, but the Velcro fastener does not hold up. I bought mine last summer (06) and now have to replace them (March, 07). Ryka needs to improve the velcro or people will not be willing to put up with it, despite the fact that otherwise it's a really good shoe.

Great for working out - I take aerobics classes about 5 times a week and these shoes have been great. There is plenty of cushioning and I have never had a problem with the Velcro slipping or failing after time, although friends of mine who have the same shoe have complained about this. I have had the shoes for about 3 or 4 months and I think they're very cute and so comfortable. I would not run in them, however, because the support/cushioning is not the same as a running shoe would offer. This is definitely an indoor workout shoe.

Great Sneaker Alternative - Had knee surgery and could wear nothing but sneakers for several months. Bought this shoe in black and in blue. Very comfortable, nice arch support. Roomy through the toes and nice, snug fit at the heels. Adjustable strap closure great for different thickness of socks. Nice to have a sneaker that doesn't lace up...even wore them with a skirt (not the best look but better than tennies).

Velcro fastener - The velcro closing does not hold up well for more than a few months. I love these shoes!!!, but the velcro is a problem. These are the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned, and am currently trying to locate a shoe repairman to replace the velcro. I can even wear these shoes without my orthotics!

Almost Perfect - I liked this shoe so much that I almost kept it - the styling is so great. I needed a gym shoe, so ordered this and a New Balance. The New Balance won out because it's more stable feeling. Because this Maryjane only has the one strap, your foot moves around a little and I thought that was a bad idea for working out. The arch support is not quite as good as the sneaker. There was a space between the shoe and the top of my foot that I could get rid of if I really cranked down the velcro, but then the strap hurt. Nice for wearing around town, but not my choice for a workout.

These are light weight, true to size, cradle the feet well and are very comfortable. I could walk for miles upon miles in them and feel nothing in my ankles. That's when you know you got the right shoes for walking. Buy one size up.

These are easy on and feel great - I wanted a supportive shoe that was easy to get on but still provided support for long walks. This is a perfect solution. I have a high arch so replaced the footbed as I do with all my walking shoes.

Versatile sneaker! I have a pair of these and I bought a pair for my mother-in-law. I am a fitness instructor. I have both taught and exercised in these shoes. They are great for work outs as well as running around town. My mother-in-law finds these shoes easy to get in and out of as well as being casual and feminine.

Ryka Versa Mary Jane - I use these shoes for working out and I love them. Good support and very easy to quickly slip on and off. The fit runs large, but I like that as I can wear thick socks.

One of my aerobics instructors has this shoe. I travel a great deal and wearing a normal athletic shoes looks kind of "klunky" so I asked her what brand of shoe they were. I was delighted to find them at Zappos. The shoe is very light weight and was comfortable from the first wearing. I think that I will love having them for long days of walking overseas. I have a tailor's bunion which they have not aggravated yet!

Fantastic Shoes - These shoes are awesome!! I have them in both colors. I work on my feet all day and they make that possible because they have such great supports. I cannot say enough about these shoes!!

A Walking Shoe for the Over 60 - I saw a review of this shoe in the NYTimes and decided to order a pair. I have had trouble finding a shoe that is comfortable, light weight and sturdy enough for my average 3-5 mile walk. Either they are too tight for my arch or they slipped in the heel. Also, a lace-up sneaker was a nuisance getting on and off. The velcro strap is great! Easy to get on and off and yet provide good fit. An added bonus is that they are better looking than the normal bulky athletic shoe. I have gotten lots of compliments on the look, including from my son and my husband. And I liked them so much that I purchased a second pair so I now have them in black and silver.

Ryka Maryjanes - Great shoe. Just what I wanted. I could not find them in the store. They are very light weight and comfortable. I wear them for weight classes and I am a PE teacher so they are great for the gym! Good fit and great service.

Jazzercise shoe! Shoe is great for Jazzercise class. Light weight and good support. I do have to adjust the top strap during class for comfort but still feels great. Now that they are in white I may get some for work.

A great athletic AND wear-around shoe! The Maryjane styling makes this athletic shoe look very non-'sneaker', although it functions perfectly at the gym. I give it only 3 stars for comfort because the strap digs into the front of my ankle, but I think that's a function of my leg, not the shoe. It IS true that the hook and loop on the strap seems weak -- I hope the Ryka folks do something about this in future versions.

Great Little Shoe - Very comfortable for exercising; quick to put on and take off. Fits my narrow heel well.

Great and fun shoe! I'm loving this shoe! It's wider at the ball of the foot, and thin in the heel. I wear them to the gym - they are easy to slip on but stay secure during my workout.

Better than a slip-on for the airport - I have a small (5.5) bony foot and spend most of my shoe-time in well-supporting clodhopper tie-ons. This doesn't work well in airports, going through security, but clogs don't work well on my foot. I bought these prior to a plane trip. Haven't yet done major walking in them, but they are comfortable and look pretty good on my teeny foot. (The rest of me isn't super-teeny so I need good support.) In fact, if anyone can suggest a supportive good looking shoe, please let me know. I'm 70, and trying not to look dowdy.

Just as advertised - Excellent shoe for its purpose--comfortable, adjustable strap; could use a bit more arch support, but otherwise, excellent cushioning. Comfortable with or without socks.

Ryka Versa Mary Jane - After reading an article in the NY Times about this shoe. I purchased a pair for my wife as a change-off from her aerobic shoes. She seems very pleased with the fit, stability and comfort this simple shoe offers.

Loved them - I love my mary jane's! They were shipped fast and are very comfortable!
