Used to be great, quality has gone way downhill. I have now had 3+ replacements on my authentic originals within the 8 months. I've been wearing the exact shoes for 20 years and usually replace them once every 3 years as I typically wear these shoes everyday. In the past, really the only reason I replaced them was due to them looking dirty and worn, not that they were falling apart. I still have a few pairs from well over 5 years ago that are perfectly functional but look very seasoned. I've never seen it where the stitching is so bad that every pair is falling apart after light wear. Specifically, the front of the sole is coming apart from the stitching and causing the front to flop. Ever since about a year ago, every pair of authentic originals that I have been shipped have been defective. Unfortunately, I have read many other reviews from Sperry and I hope they are reading these and correcting the issue. I really hope that Sperry gets this figured out. I love the shoes and style but the craftsmanship needs to seriously be improved.

These Sperrys are too narrow and the insole is weird. I won't be buying them again.

A nice shoe but breaking it in has been, and is still is painful, I got a blister from a stitch on one shoe.not sure if I'll exchange or return it.

These shoes are simply not comfortable, nothing like the Sperry Gold shoes I used to purchase.

Received my boat shoes, but the sole promptly split

I am having the same issue with my Sperry Topsider-amareto. The sole at the toe stitching is coming undone causing the sole to flap and hit the ground when I walk. This is the second pair I have had this problem with this past month. Sperry replaced the first pair because of this problem but the replacement pair has the same problem after wearing the shoe just three times.

The front of the shoe broke after a few hours of wearing them. I awaiting a refund.

I've very disappointed in these shoes. The front of the sole already ripped after wearing once. The quality of these shoes is garbage.

Sole breaks easily. I bought two pairs and each had the front part of the sole (which sticks out a bit) rip/break off from regular walking. It seems very fragile and broken off almost like someone had taken a bite out of it. I gave up and will not buy Sperrys again.

Bought these Sperry's in July. Didn't wear them until my vacation last week as I wanted a nice boat shoe for our cruise trip. Within the second day of wearing them, the soles ripped from the stitching from both shoes. It's definitely disappointing to see the quality of these shoes going down. I have another pair purchased 4 years ago that are still in great shape, but the new pair I ordered lacks the same quality & ripped within a day of use.

My high school freshman has been wearing these to school for less than a month and the front right sole has detached from the shoe and ripped significantly. This never happened with previous boat shoes.

The sole fell off within 2 weeks of purchase. Normal wear.

I bought these shoes for my son, a senior in high school, to wear to school with his uniform. I give these details to emphasize that he is not a 10 year old running around at recess pitting stress on these shoes. That said, the sole of the shoe fell apart in 2 less than weeks of school. I'm absolutely disgusted with these shoes, which were expensive and used to have a quality reputation.

I purchased these for my son to wear to school. He's been wearing them for 4 weeks and the soles are already ripping away from the shoe in the front. So disappointing given the cost of them.

Unfortunately we did not have a great experience with this shoe! Second day of wear, the front part of the sole caught on a step and the entire front half of the sole ripped / broke off. My son had to wear the shoes to school with only half of the sole on! Disappointed in the quality here. I've been wearing shoes for a long time, and I've never had them "break" on the second day of wear.

I bought these 3 months ago and the front of has already come apart from the upper. They used to last forever, now 3 months. Garbage !

Picture is misleading! It makes you think it has cross lacing but it doesn't!

Had a dream pair worn every warm day for years. Unbelievable quality and craftsmanship. I wore the new pair less than 2 dozen times and they fall apart. Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

Horrible Quality - Soles split along seam at toe while stitching remains intact. Sadly, the quality of these shoes has dropped to rock bottom. My wife bought me a pair for Christmas. In the spring, I wore them out to one evening of dancing. The tip of the sole at the toe split an inch or more on each side, along the stitching. The stitches remained intact. A month ago, my wife replaced them with the same model. One 2-mile walk along Mission Boulevard in Pacific Beach - the same thing. I've had Sperry's for years without a problem, each pair lasting 5 - 7 years. Looks like the quality of the sole material has been drastically downgraded to save money. Bad move folks - you lost a customer.

The sole is already separated from the shoe at the toe area on one shoe. Have had the shoes for about two week.
