Comfortable at first, but not at all durable. In less than 6 months, the sole had changed in shape and the leather became weirdly lopsided and started to pinch my foot to the point walking became painful. Would not buy again. I recommend Timberland's boat shoes, with their comfort soles. Same style, similar price, better comfort and durability.
Wore without socks, so I bought a half size smaller than usual.

Purchased as a replacement for identical shoes purchased over 2 years ago. Ordered same size & model number # as old pair but new shoes are actually smaller (shorter & narrower) than old ones. Old ones made in China, new pair made in Indonesia. Seems like Sperry cut the gauge on materials.

It looks great and feels really comfortable.
I would have given it a 5-star rating if not for the annoying air/squeaking sound it makes every time you land on your heel. The sound is very loud; even other people can hear it. It's the air being pushed from in between the shoe and the insole. I'm not sure how to remedy this. Maybe glue the insole to the shoe so there wouldn't be any space for the air to pass through?
That's my only gripe about this pair. Too bad it's so annoying.

I've heard great things about this brand so bought my pair. Big disappointment. In less than 4 months (of very minimal use) the insoles have come apart. Criminal waste of money for a brand which is supposed to be high quality.

The label inside being held down by glue and stitching peeled of after two hours of use. Or it may haven been there already and I didn't notice. Since I don't wear socks with loafers, I felt the leather stitching under my feet peeling off. Not one but both shoes. It's really annoying. I want to peel them off but afraid it may be worse. I would return them if I could. Don't buy these shoes. Zappos shouldn't eve sell them.

Like walking barefoot on tile flooring, no arch support or sole insert. Hove soaked shoe in water twice and worn until dry to try and get a better fit. Quality looks okay. Shoe tried in store felt better.

I've ordered Sperry Top-Siders twice in the past 2 years and have had to send them back twice each time until I got the right size. I love these shoes, but the sizing is reliably inconsistent.

I have been buying this shoe forever, at least 20years,but this time the shoe seems to be made cheaper than before. Leather is much thinner, almost feels like a bedroom slipper rather than the shoe I new and loved. I am very disappointed this time with the quality, not like before. I buy the same shoe every year maybe two times a year, but I don't know about anymore. I hope this was just a bad pair.

I had had a pair of topsiders that I wore for years, and when they finally wore out, I stupidly decided to throw them out, rather than get them resoled. What a mistake. The new topsiders are of markedly lower quality. The soles are not glued on smoothly: there is some lumpiness in the glue application that you can really feel. The tongue, small as it is, is still weirdly loose and often gets turned under when you slip the shoe on. The leather quality is lower, the laces will not stay tied, and because of the leather they are made of, cannot really be tied: I had to get out the hot glue gun to fix the knot.

The insoles in these shoes started to detach within an hour of wearing them.

Was a Christmas gift for my son. After wearing them they started to squeak like a dog toy from the heel. Returned them for a second pair and a puffing sound was coming form heel again. Returned that pair for another and the same puffing sound is coming from this 3rd pair. Will give one last try because my son likes this style and color. Is the A/O Sahara.

Not happy with these shoes. When trying to slip them on, my foot stops when my socks make contact with the insole in front of the support. Needs to be untied, spread open before it will allow my foot to go all the way in. After that, they are comfortable. I think they need a smooth leather insole to allow the socks to slide in easily.

The leather is not firm so the shoe is very floppy and cheap looking and feeling. I wore these shoes for 3 months almost everyday and the leather got completely worn out. I even used the sperry waterproofing spray. It just isn't a good quality shoe. I would recommend looking at the similarly priced Sperry Men's Mako 2-Eye Canoe Moc Boat Shoe. It is made of a higher quality leather and is a lot more sturdier. I have had them for about 5 months and they are in near mint condition despite my abuseful habits to the shoe. Definitely a much better buy, so i would recommend the Men's Mako 2-Eye Canoe Moc Boat Shoe over the classic boat show anyday. I love sperrys and the Classic boat shoe is the first and hopefully last pair of sperrys that I am not 100% satisfied with.

I loved the shoe but unfortunately it was shipped wrong. I ordered a 10.5 W and that's what the box said. However, the shoes inside the box were a 10.5 N. The shoe was way to narrow. I was disappointed to say the least. The shoes have been returned and I hope the correct size is being shipped to me.

I ordered a 13 Wide. When the shoe arrived, it was so narrow that I could not get my foot into the shoe. It has been returned. I have worn Sperry 13 Wide in the past and they have been very comfortable. I suspect that you have changed your "last" and it is now too small for me. I did not see where you have an Extra Wide therefore by necessity you have lost a customer.

It gets dirty entirely too easy and the leather wrinkles and looks old after a week.

I've owned multiple pairs of A/Os, and decided to purchase a pair in Red, White and Blue. While they were great at first, they quickly fell apart. I've never had a problem with my pairs in the past, so maybe it was a lower-quality material that was used in this specific shoe color.
First, the insole (made of a canvas instead of leather) fell out. Then, the midsole leather that wraps around from the vamp to on-top of the sole quickly grew holes. These holes grew larger, and eventually hit the welt, causing the upper to separate from the sole. (See Pictures)
While I still love the Sperry's that I bought years ago and am still wearing, I'm concerned that the quality of craftsmanship has gone down based upon my recent purchase. I don't expect a shoe to last forever, but to only last for a summer of casual use is disappointing.
I am hoping mine were just an anomaly, but will think twice before deciding if I will ever buy another pair. I recommend to not buy a pair that has a canvas insole, and instead stick to the leather insoles.

Very disappointed in quality of shoe. Leather is flimsy. I should have purchased the more expensive model - I think. Unfortunately, I wore them for a couple of days so cannot return. Sperry quality just not there.

I liked the look of these shoes, and they are quite comfortable, but within 3 days of my purchase the insole had torn. (inside the shoe, the part against the bottom of your foot) This makes the shoe much less comfortable, it's like having a wrinkle in your sock all the time.
I won't buy this pair again.

Fit is fine . . . but although these are listed as "Authentic," the bright brass grommets without the Sperry logo certainly make them appear to be imitations. I have seen them in other retail outlets this season (for less) with nice bronze finish hardware emblazoned with "Sperry." Disappointed.

Very poor quality insert. The thin piece of leather glued to the foot bed started peeling up immediately making the shoes uncomfortable to wear. I've started searching for replacement inserts that are all leather. But for the price, they should be included, instead of this cheaply made insert they come with. The rest of the shoe does not seem to be so poorly made and they look good. But can't recommend based on my experience.

My husband has been wearing Top-Siders over 20 years and usually loves them. This particular shoe was way too narrow and had to be returned. I would recommend ordering a wider size when getting this style.

The style of the shoe looks great, its comfortable, and the leather is high quality. However, the "new" sock liner is of such poor quality, that I cannot recommend buying this shoe. Within a day, the sock liner started peeling back (unglued) and became irritating. While I wish this were just a defective pair, unfortunately it was not. After three pairs, each with the same problem, I have decided to change brands until the manufacturing process improves.

Ordered a pair for my son, who has worn these for a few years. The pair we received seemed to be damaged, the insole was not glued. We are ordering another pair which will hopefully be ok. Thank goodness for Zappos free returns.

So disappointed in these shoes. I have owned multiple pairs of Sperry top siders over the years, but the last ones I bought from Zappos had the dreaded "hard slippery sole" problem. I can barely wear them because it is dangerous. I slip and slide on all surfaces due to the hard cracked soles. I have another pair of Sperrys that are 3 times older than these ones and the soles have the same texture as they did the day I bought them. Maybe Sperry has grown too much in the last few years and let the quality control slip, but needless to say I'll not be buying another pair of these. They are comfortable and stylish, but not at all durable. I just ordered a pair of Sebago boat shoes instead. Also, order a size smaller than you normally would. These run big.
