This is my second pair of Sperry Topsiders recently where the front edge of the sole has separated just beyond the threads. It seems to not take much effort to cause the sole to break apart. I love the shoes, but am very annoyed that the soles are falling apart on brand new shoes. I live in these shoes, so it would be nice if they did not fall apart after only a few weeks of wear.

I had a pair of Sperry topsiders that I purchased four or five years ago and I was expecting similar quality but these are lighter and the sole is a bit thin and not the same as my older pair. Sorry but but these are just not what I expected.

There is less room in the laces to toe part of the shoe. A tighter toe compartment. Still wearable but not what it should be

Sadly, I have to say they are the most uncomfortable topsider I've ever worn. Just don't understand why? Quality seems there, styling, etc., Just incredibly hard to wear. They also seem more narrow than most shoes. I've never needed a "wide" shoe prior. Already tried the water submersion stretching experiment, To no avail. Maybe I'll give it another go.

This is the second pair to have a defect. This time when I went to tighten the laces the lace broke. Any chance for you to send me a pair of laces ??

Definitely felt tight and too small. My husband has always worn a size 13 S but these did not fit correctly. Guess we'll try a size 14.

Shoes are attractive... but seem to fall apart before they wear out.
Not made is USA... Get with it !
Add to that they are basically always out of stock in my size 10.5 W
and you get 2 stars... If they didn't look good it would be 0 Stars

The shoes have no lateral strength. I feel as if my foot is going to turn over. The construction is more suited for a house slipper.

the shoes have been pretty good but within the first month of use the in-soles have come loose in the shoes. bit of a pain.

The insoles came out after a couple weeks. Sperry sent me new ones and the same thing happened on the replacements almost immediately.

I love the shoe's but the stitching on the toe came out. They did give me a refund.

After about 4 months the lip of the sole on one of the shoes is coming apart and the seam on the top of the other shoe is splitting. These do not seem to be very good quality, at least based off of the one pair I have experienced.

Shoes looks good on the outside but the sole has some air in there, it makes this disturbing noise every step, I am not using the shoes anymore after one month of purchase. Very disappointed of the brand.

Ordered an XW. The Sperry's were literally 1-1/2" narrower than my Rockports. Definitely not an XW. Sent them back and went for the less expensive Rockports.

These are comfortable enough. I purchased them just over a year ago, and with very light use they already have a hole in the bottom. I rarely write reviews, but I expect Sperry to be of better quality than these are.

I am a fan of all Sperry products; I like their casual approach to formal wear. This shoe in particular I did not like because I accidently licked the wrong color. The customer service has been very helpful and I am exchanging them for a different color which I am sure I will be satisfied with.

Like the shoes: great styling, great comfort. HOWEVER, in less than 3 months of semi-regular wear (approx. 3 times per week), the sole has separated from the upper. The stitching did not come undone; rather, it pulled completely through the rubber of the sole so that it cannot be re-stitched. They have been maintained well--I keep them polished, keep a shoe tree in them, and do not abuse them. Was expecting them to last around three years, not three months.

Well this is my first experience ever with Sperry's, or boat shoes in general. Honestly I am really rather disappointed with the shoe's design and overall feel as well.
First off, the tongue, and top of the shoe itself, does not reach to the ankle like I thought it would. You know, like a normal tennis shoe would? So when worn with socks, the top of my foot, from the mid-foot to ankle was exposed and looks rather stupid if I am to be quite honest. On another note, I bought an 8 wide, and it fits rather narrow as well, although I think this is only an issue because the tongue stops mid-foot(the widest part of your foot) and ties there, rather than where most shoe tie at, being the end of the foot.
So just some warnings to others that may be interested in this kind of shoe, but also unaware of the rather bizarre designs of this boat shoe. Going to have to re-sell these, just to recuperate some of the money I wasted on this.

Ordered 13 extra wide and recieved a shoe that's about 30% shorter in length than any of my other shoes!!! No joke it's like a 10 I can't even get it halfway into my foot.
It's labeled as a men's 13 XW.... I don't get it.

I've been buying the same Sperry shoe for decades. This shoe is crap. The leather is very thin, the support is like a piece of floor mat. I hope the short term increase in profit margins for putting out such a cheap product is worth the long term loss in customer base.

I recently purchased a pair of original Sperry boat shoes in extra wide ... at least I thought I did. I've worn Sperry shoes for years and their extra-wide was very comfortable for those of us with extra wide width feet.
Well ... the moment I put these shoes on my feet began to ache, clearly the company has changed the dimensions on their shoes, because there is NOTHING extra wide about their current sizing. Sorry, but that's the truth.

This is very stylish. But I feel uncomfortable. Because the outer sole is easily bendable and flexible. It is difficult to balance my weight.

These shoes are nowhere near the quality of my old ones I still use.
Stitching coming undone, sole is coming unglued, sock staining when new and the sole is cracking. My old pair and I mean old (maybe 15 years) have just worn through the sole but no other problems at all.
The quality of Sperry has gone the path of many manufacturers, cheapen up so they are replaced more offen.
Sorry Sperry I will be looking into other manufacturers.

This order reminded me as to why I have never owned a pair of Sperry shoes. Reviews indicated that these were true to size and width. Ordered the same size I have worn in every other brand of shoes for years. These were terribly undersized, even though they were marked correctly. Will be returning. Can't rate for comfort or quality as I haven't been able to experience them.
