Great-looking boat shoe with a smart combo of navy and tan--but I had to return because it is too wide. I need a narrow but apparently Sperry does not make one available in this shoe. Not much arch support but that is typical of boat shoes in general.

These shoes are good, but the shoes I received are lighter in color than the ones pictured above. I think the lighting on these shoe photos is off because mine did not appear to be this dark (which is what I wanted). The photos should be re-shot or they should include another color because like I said mine are lighter than these pictured (the ones I ordered) and I have seen these darker models in a store prior to ordering with Zappos. However, I didn't feel like dealing with the return so I just kept them. Other than that they are just "good". These shoes have given me plenty of blisters worn without socks, this is the one thing I do not like. But the soles are good.

Shoes seem fine. I'm just disappointed that they are manufactured in China! I would have tried to find comparable shoes made in this country at a higher price, of course, as I want to support our economic recovery.

Like the nubuck appearance and deck shoe style very much. These shoes are not as comfortable as I would like. I have size 13 feet with a high instep. I had to return them and get a wider shoe (from M to W).

These shoes look great with shorts or jeans and are very comfortable. HOWEVER, be aware that if you wear these on a hardwood floor, or inside some malls, there is a SQUEAKING NOISE that can be heard with every step. This is similar to the soles that are in Dr. Martens and Nike Shox. So if you don’t mind the squeaking, I would recommend these shoes.

I ordered these shoes because my old Sperry Top-Siders were all but worn out. They were the most comfortable shoes I ever owned. The new shoes are comfortable enough, but there is a design change that I find very annoying. Sperry has shortened the shoe tongue slightly, so that it doesn\'t protrude out the top of the shoe as much as before. This creates a problem where the tongue slides down as my foot enters the shoe, and doubles over inside the shoe. I have to remove the shoe and pull the tongue out to fix this. It\'s a small change (and I don\'t know why they made it), but it affects the comfort and ease of use.

I've worn Top Sider Originals for years. I'm now 69 years old and I do need additional orthotic support; and I would suggest that anyone wearing these shoes use additional support as there is very little in this type of shoe. But I love them!

What's that smell?
I really liked the light tan color I got. They were pretty comfortable, although I felt like wearing a low sock would be even better. The bad thing was they were so smelly. I know new leather shoes can smell like leather, but my husband was saying he thought a mouse maybe died in my closet, and we determined it was these shoes he was smelling. I put them outside for several days, through sun and rain (boat shoes, right?) and that seems to have helped.

Disappointed -
I have worn this model (0195115) TopSider for decades, and generally buy two or three pair at a time. This pair has two faults: (a) the serrated sole is poorly manufactured. The serrations are uneven, in some areas just an impression with no cut into the sole at all, hence its ability to grip a wet surface with confidence is far less, and (b) the leather seems a different and lower quality and perhaps a less durable shoe.

Not very authentic -
These Sperry Authentic Top-Sider Originals are knock-offs of what I remember the Original to be. The stitching is crude, the inside unfinished and unlined. They more resemble a cheap moccasin than an authentic boat shoe. However, they are fairly comfortable and fit my narrow foot well. The Zappos service was excellent, as usual.

Summer Comfort -
I had a pair of Top-Sider's since I was a kid and that's been a few years. Slip them on, enjoy the comfort and go. You don't even have to wear socks. They are great around water or the beach. Was nice being able to buy the original from you and not go to the mall. Loved the fast and actuate service and you even upgraded the shipping method at no cost to me. I will be buying another new pair soon (diff. color). Thanks for making life easy! Dennis

Not that great -
These are rather ill fitting shoes. I have a narrow foot, and although the size is correct (11.5 B), they are tight and hard to get my foot into. They are unlined (I wish I would have paid attention to a previous review that said that). I may buy another pair someday, but wider.

Only option -
The shoe has all the ingredients for casual summer wear. But the color is dark; and the leather is stiff; and the fit is mediocre. I buy a lot of casual Sperry stuff, but this shoe does not match the rest.

Great looking shoe, but it comes at a price.
Before I start typing my review on these shoes, let me just say that my feet aren't like a normal persons in that my right foot sits differently than my left due to a difference in bone structure (it isn't painful, so I haven't gotten corrective surgery). Anyway, this shoe looks great, but if your feet are the least bit flat or overly arched, then you will definitely need to buy insoles for these shoes. There isn't much arch support, though your heel will be safe and secure for the most part. These shoes are quite comfortable compared to your generic sandals. Of course, nobody wearing boat shoes with socks and therefore these topsiders make a great alternative to the regular sandal, which is usually pretty brutal on your feet. Overall, the shoe has a great look that I absolutely love, but if you're looking for comfort and ability, this isn't necessarily it.

I have had Sperry Topsiders in the past. These shoes do not feel as comfortable. I think it may be my age, requiring more cushion now.

These are basically slip ons which is great but you have to get a smaller size so they stay on. My experience is that beyond looking good, the feel and support are not very good. These shoes were not made for walking in them any distance. There is little cushion and nearly no support in them.

Not the same as the Original Original my husband has been wearing these for over 30 years, this pair is much narrower, to the point of causing a blister on the side of his foot below the small toe while just wearing around the house. He has never has to " break in" a pair of these before. Something with the way this is stitched has changed, they went back, we will need to find an alternative.

I would give the shoes zero stars if I could. My son has a dress code at school and wore them 4 tines inside the building. Part of one shoe undersole broke off on the fourth use. The shoes were purchased a month ago. I hope the company can resolve this issue to our satisfaction.

Your "extra-wide" sizes appear to be only D width. They are very narrow. I have been wearing your "Original" boat shoes and I am now 77 yrs old and I will not buy your shoes again. Quit shrinking them!

A bit of a low rating mainly due to the comparison between the previous Topsiders I had with these new ones. The old ones were nice and heavy using thick leather and lasted for a long time, close to 10 years. These feel more like moccasins. Very light and thin.

I really like the shoe but the sole on the right toe keeps coming apart. I assume it has something to do with my stride, but I cant imagine this hasn't happened to many others. 3 pairs in 2 months. I just kept believing it was a flaw in one pair.

Hopefully they last longer than the past four pair I have bought. I usually buy a pair a year and not always by choice. Life span of Sperry boat shoes is a year if you are lucky!!!!!! The past four pair I have bought the soles come off or get loose as they are glued instead of stiched and mine don't even get that wet. Isn't that suppose to be a feature of "BOAT SHOES"??? I have bought Sperry boat shoes for years and the quality has gone down hill while the price continues to go up, Recommend buying some Gorilla glue when you buy these. You will probably need it.!!!!!
