Ordered the Sperry T/S Auth Original, and the Sebago Grinder. They are similar in style, the Sebago's in my opinion are true to width (wide) the Sperry's are somewhat too narrow.

I like the way the shoes look and feel. They are comfortable. I have planter fatuitous and I normally need more support and cushion than these shoes offer. I can wear them for supper or casual get togetherings, but can not wear them if I am planning on a evening that will require a lot of walking.

Terrible construction quality. Seams are missing glue and it appears that the left shoe was not sewn correctly. I'll be sending these back - and unfortunately, not buying another pair. For this price, I'd assume a little better attention to detail.

Overall quality was great. It was exactly what I wanted. That said, most of the reviews I read said these run large. I didn't find that to be the case. Although the box was marked wide "W" the actual shoes inside were narrow. Couldn't get my feet in them. They also seemed 1/2 size shorter than marked as well. Perhaps bad QA in the manufacturer boxing department. We'll see how the exchange goes.

I have been buying Sperry boat shoes for many years (20+). They had always had amazing durability and comfort. The last two pairs I purchased showed a marked drop in build quality. The rivets popped out from sides on both pairs and the soles separated from the shoes on both pairs in under a year. These just aren't products I can recommend anymore.

I bought a pair of these Sperry Topsiders in 11EEEE (my usual size). The leather and workmanship were excellent. However, they were too narrow for my feet. They were uncomfortable. Perhaps they would break in over time? But I regret that I will have to return them, since there are no wider sizes.

Soft, smooth and comfortable. Tradeoff is support. More like a slipper than a show you want to walk a mile in. I got them for the house tile floors so they'll do. The oldies were firmer leather with better footpads and more lateral support. The leather on these is vinyl-like and thinner and can squeak. I guess you have to spend twice as much (175) for Sperry Golds to really get an "original" "authentic" Topsider anymore.

The Upper leather material is too soft that it gets out of shape when you walk. The construction is good, it's the getting out of shape that I am not happy about.

Surprisingly uncomfortable. The shoes don't breath and the top has a tendency of uncomfortably rubbing the top of your foot. They look nice but given the price tag and the discomfort I'd pass on these.

These shoes are supplied to Zappos by Sperry and are made in China and Dominican Republic. The ones from China were made better. The fit was better and more uniform for length and width and the length of the tongue covered more of the laces and gave a better feeling where the laces cross the instep. The DR left show felt a bit narrow; the right shoe fit OK. The tongue was short on both shoes and barely covered the laces area. The China shoes I bought from Zappos a couple of year ago fit well in all respects. I note that Zappos does not make the shoes; they are from Sperry, so the root cause is supplier quality control. I tried to exchange the first delivery of DR shoes for China shoes, but Zappos sent me another pair of not so good DR shoes (the ones I described above). The customer rep said their warehouse is automated and that they could not pick a specific pair of shoes from China. Kinda lame answer, Zappos. Get a human in the ware house to go get the shoes that a customer requests when they tell you its important to them! A brick and mortar shoe store could do that and so should you. Otherwise, I like Zappos. Their customer service reps were polite and tried to fix the order to get China made shoes, but was unable to get the warehouse to fulfill the order as requested.

Shoe is at LEAST one size smaller than listed. In comparison to an old pair, they look like they are miss marked. Careful when ordering...

For the first 5 months these were my go to pair of shoes. Comfortable and stylish, they were my favorite shoes. Then one fateful dewy morning, which continued into a dewy afternoon on the tailgate field, they were ruined; I'm honestly still confused how such a hot and sunny day didn't dry up the grass, but oh well. Since they got wet they have not only developed an odor (heads-up: the scent will attach itself to your feet), but also the leather insoles have taken on a dark color (from the odor causing bacteria) and begun to peel by the balls of of my feet. I've never had any issues with smelly feet, but if I wear these, even if only for a moment, my feet are in dire need of a scrubbing. Moral of the story: if you intend on using them for casual wear (as opposed to using them on an actual boat), treat them with care. If they get wet, take the necessary precautions and put newspaper inside to absorb some excess moisture. It will save your shoes, and feet, from taking on a god awful smell.

Two things that caused me to rate this a 3 and not higher: (a) thought that the shoe should have more support built into the shoe than it does: (b) wore the shoe with a pair of socks when I first received the shoes and they were completely stained with the amaretto color - nice color by the way - when I took them off that evening; wouldn't have thought this would happen, haven't worn them again with socks, and not sure how to treat the shoes now to stop the problem.

The black Sperry Top-sider Original left many things to be desired. They weren't easy to slip on, very sticky, like trying to push into a rubber sock. Also, my foot was rolling on to the blades of my foot. Not the fit I was hoping for.

This shoe is alright but I wouldn't recommend for daily wear. Poor support and flimsy sole. Hot spots from heel rub. Runs narrow and small. The style is okay but looks like something your dorky cousin would've worn at his fringe office job.

These are about the only shoes my son will wear! It is frustrating how the sizes vary in each style. Thankfully Zappos will get the appropriate size to him within a couple of days!

Everything was great about the shoe, except the white sole, which was a disaster. Within a few months it started cracking and crumbling into pieces. It was really quite remarkable how quickly the sole lost all moisture and became what would be best described as petrified. The rest of the shoe is fine and I wear them at home, occasionally scattering bits of shoe sole around the house.

I have been a long time lover of Sperry's however I bought a pair a few months ago and after only a month or two of normal wear the leather inside the shoes ripped open at the heel. The leather has been increasingly been getting ripped open and increasingly uncomfortable until I no longer could wear the shoes anymore. They did look good and I liked the style but the quality was not what I expect from Sperry

These shoes have absolutely no padding in them. They get very uncomfortable after a little bit of walking or standing. Probably the worst pair of shoes I've had in terms of comfortability even though Sperrys are generally good with comfort. Other than that they're great.

All in all, the shoe arrives looking and feeling as expected from the description. However, the inside is a bit rough, and there appears to be either small bits of shoe materials (or dirt from outside) that can appear near the toe. Having worn these without socks, I had quite the irritated blister after walking 8 blocks of my city. However, with socks, these were perfectly comfortable and fit snugly.

I ordered these boat shoes for my husband, who loves them. It's been over 100 degrees this summer, but he still prefers them to flip flops (a huge coup for me!). He's had some trouble with the inserts bunching up, so I think we'll be looking for perhaps a more expensive boat shoe next time.

Somewhere along the way y'all forgot that these shoes are not worn with socks. Hence you have used a last that is sock oriented in what you call Medium width. It fit really slopily. I own two other pairs which don't have this problem. I am really disappointed that someone has changed the last for Medium. I have been a topsider customer for near about 40 years and this is the second time that the shoe did not meet my size criteria. I hope you can tighten up the Medium last in the future.

Ordered a couple of sizes in the wide width and both were still too narrow by the toes. Had to return both pairs.
