Zappos.com is amazingly fast and efficient. I strongly recommend the website for online purchasing. The Sperry Top-Siders I ordered were unfortunately a disappointment. The quality of these shoes is usable and I intend to wear them, but the quality of these shoes compared with the last pair I owned has slipped. One shoe is noticeably taller on one side than the other causing the shoe to roll over a bit. Perhaps the manufacturing source in China needs to be reconsidered. Still, like I said, I will wear them, but I am disappointed in Sperry for their quality control.

Light and comfortable. Soles are thinner than I remember but still a nice shoe overall.

Can't beat the style of these classic shoes - you can beat them up and they last. This is my second pair; however, the build quality has suffered a bit - the insole has already separated a good amount from the bottom of the shoe. It is now glued down rather than sewn in. Isn't enough of a bother to return, but it's too bad.

Comfortable shoe. Has an insole this time around compared to the old traditional top-sider. The denim material feels wonderful, like wearing socks around. Looks great as well. I highly recomend this shoe if you liked the traditional leather styles.

Overall this is an excellent shoe and I wear them a lot and I get many compliments on them. There is some exposed rubber inside that, when worn without socks, rubs a blister on the side of my little toe but foot powder stops that from happening. Also the heel feels a little thin. My other Sperrys have a thicker heel making them a bit more comfortable. Otherwise I would have rated these at five stars. Zappos.com is an excellent place to buy shoes. They provide quick service and they make it easy to return anything that doesn't feel just right. That makes for worry-free shopping.

Shoes arrived just as expected and I love them. They are casual, but also moonlight as my shoes when I need to wear black!

Firstly, I want to say that these are very comfortable. I wear these on the weekends, and recently, I went on a trip to D.C., and wore them 5 days straight, walking about 2-3 miles a day. They held up fine, and were very comfortable. These shoes have a very classic look, and I find myself wearing them everywhere I go. The only complaint I do have is that the leather scratches if you are harsh on it, but mine have held up great. (The ones on display were scratched up, and the leather seemed soft, but mine haven't scratched much at all.) Overall, I recommend these shoes to anyone, they are fantastic.

While all shoes and clothes these days are grossly over-priced the Sperry Top-Siders are at least reasonable. They fit well. I normally take an 8½M - 9M US in size. With this shoe I required a wide as they are cut too narrow. (I am not sure that it is a Sperry thing or not.) I also needed the larger of the two size ranges I fall under. They break in quickly and will stretch a bit to be more comfortable. I plan to wear them mostly without socks and with shorts as a summer shoe. Hope this helps.

Great pair of shoes for many occasions. I live in the wet northwest and these shoes have handled the rain pretty well so far. At first my socks soaked up some dye from the leather but after the first day no problems whats so ever. So comfortable that sometimes I forget I'm even wearing shoes.

Excellent construction. Not as comfortable as many reviews mention. The threads on the foot bed inside the shoe aren't covered, they can be felt on your feet. Runs about 1/2 size too large in the medium width. The one major problem I noticed was the bottom non-marking sole. One shoe had a nice sticky rubber feel to it and the other shoe slid around like it had a cheap, hard plastic bottom. It was like each was made out of different rubber. Come on Sperry, you've been in the game for how long? And you can't get the soles right? I'm exchanging to see if there was some design problem. Will buy again though.

The fit is excellent, and the style goes with pretty much anything - casual or even for around the office. I personally should have chosen extra wide, and this is the only shoe that carries that option; however, it still fits nicely, and they break in easily. Quality is top notch as well, and the sole seems to work incredibly well on slippery surfaces. My only fear is that because there are no tread, the sole will wear quickly.

Customers might find it helpful if you sent a guide on how to keep the laces tied in some way. The laces you had on the Jeffrey's edition should be a option all shoes. The laces constantly coming undone becomes irritating.

I was very excited to receive my original boat shoes in blue. They fit true to size, although they were a bit wide for my fairly narrow feet, but the laces that rap around make it possible for me to tighten the fit. They are a great style, that fits my preppy New England personality. I love the color I chose and couldn't be happier with the style. I question the manufacturing. I was hoping that buying a quintessentially New England product that the product would be also manufactured in New England like many other brands. Instead this product in manufactured in China. I believe that had the shoes been made in the United States the quality of the leather would have been better and less plastic-like.

The classic American boat shoe unfortunately ain't all it's cracked up to be. I love boat shoes but this is more like a slipper or moccasin than a shoe to wear outside. After a short time the sole wears out leaving the shoe with zero arch support and gives me terrible back pains. I also had the exact same problem as another reviewer that the left sole of my "oatmeal" colored Sperrys cracked and I had to slip a quarter under the insole to make them the same height. Could be coincidence, I don't know, but either way Sperry uses some very cheap materials. If you want a boat shoe you can walk around all day in with comfort without the back pain of Sperrys, look at Sebagos. They take a crazy long time to break in but they last 10 times longer than Sperrys and stay looking great. If you're looking for a stylish house slipper that will mold to the exact shape of your foot then Sperrys might be for you.

These are super nice boat shoes. Great quality and feel, the only thing is that there is no support on your feet so you feel everything you walk over, but besides that small detail it's great!

You cannot go wrong with these shoes between the months of May and September. Classic preppie look can be pulled off with jeans, chinos, shorts, or even a wet bathing suit. No socks? No problem, homie. Skip 'em with the top siders. They break in to be the among the most comfortable shoes I own - the leather so very supple and soft. One problem is that they will probably end up smelling funky, especially with my sweaty feet. I will probably get a new pair once summer rolls around - maybe even two (one for keeping nice for dates with my lady, and another for drinking beer on the porch). Felt a bit roomy at true to size, but didn't really matter much.

Nice shoes. Can be a bit stiff but they may just take a bit longer to break in. Not great with traction or wet days. But overall very durable and good looking.

The shoe is a mainstay of mine when on a boat and I now use this pair for USCG-AUX boat patrols. Meets all of my requirements, but could be a little better in the arch department.

I'm happy with the shoe. We get a lot of snow and ice where I live, and this shoe isn't great on either. The snow (and salt) has stained the shoe. I highly recommend treating it before wearing. And the soles are extremely slippery on slick/icy sidewalks. All-in-all though, I like the Sperrys. It's definitely more of a stylish shoe than a utility shoe.

The size seems to be about half a size smaller than the manufacturer claims. I wear a size 12 in every other shoe so I ordered a 12 and it was too small, but the size 13 is too big. Wish they made half sizes after size 12. The service from Zappos was great! I have ordered from them before and will continue to do so. It is so mucH easier than going to the mall.

These shoes are great. I bought them 2 weeks ago, and I'm still breaking them in - but they are comfortable and the color is great. The lighter leather weathers well, and I like the darker sole (rather than the traditional white sole for a boat shoe). If you are looking for a fashionable, casual, comfortable shoe, this is it.

These shoes aren't very comfortable at first while the leather is still new, but once you break them in they mold onto your foot. I do think they are a bit overpriced but nevertheless a decent shoe. I found these to be true to size in length; however, in width your mileage can vary. I found them to be on the narrow side albeit I did purchase the small width, mostly due to my heel being very narrow. I wanted to avoid that wretched heel slip at all costs. Overall a decent shoe that matches with almost anything. Jeans, chinos, shorts, shirts etc. You can use these for almost any occasion. With that said, I have a few tips for you if you are going to buy a pair. 1: If you have a narrow heel, try going for a smaller width to avoid heel slipping. Heel slipping can cause some very awful blisters on the back of your foot (If Worn Without Socks). These shoes stretch like you wouldn't believe and breaking them in requires very little wear. 2: These run true to size. I am a 9 1/2 and that's the exact number I got, and it fit perfectly (sockless). You may want to consider how you're going to wear them, sockless or with socks. If the latter, perhaps buy a half size bigger. Depending on the thickness of the socks of course. 3: If you have a wide foot, I'd suggest you buy the widest size possible as these tend to run on the narrow side.

I ordered this Sperry Top-Sider in size 10.5 width 3E. Sperry marks them as XW (Extra Wide). I don't think that equates to a true 3E. They were too narrow, so I had to return them. They didn't offer anything wider.

I find the shoe most comfortable by adding a Dr. Scholl’s insert to give a bit more heel support. Other than that it's what one expects from Top-Siders.
