I love the Sperry shoe sole because it is the only one I have found that does not slip on my deck. However, I wear a 9 WWW regular shoe and have a very diffiicult time finding that in a boat shoe. Years ago I bought a pair of Sperry shoes and they fit at the time. I took a chance on this one and it is to narrow, I should have gone to a store and tried it on, my mistake. Any suggestions on where to get very wide boat shoes will be appreciated.

I have been wearing Top-Siders for years. I have worn them on the sea and they truly preformed well on the decks. This shoe is indeed the basic Preppy shoe, a must have. Wonderful shoes, a staple for the Preppy man.

I have a pair of 9.5W in Sahara, and they fit great, so I wanted to order the same size in Navy/White, but they didn't come in 9.5W. I had to up the size to a 10, just to accomodate my foot, because I knew a regular 9.5 would be too narrow. I don't feel like I'm walking around in clown shoes, but having the right fight would be nice too. Please make a 9.5W!

These were the shoes I wore through many of my teenage years in the '80s. Stopped wearing them in my 20's and finally decided to buy another pair. Well, I have a very wide foot. When I was young I sometimes wore shoes that were too narrow if I liked them and couldn't get them wide enough. Still, I thought I remembered these fitting well (I wonder if it was the Docksides that fit, but they only come in Wide, not XW). These were painfully narrow and I don't do that anymore (feet issues due to doing it in the past). I'm almost afraid to try the next size up since they still will "only" be XW. Returns were handled very well.

Purchased to replace 7 year old pair of canoe construction shoes, still serviceable but not looking so great anymore. Would have preferred another pair of canoes but strongly dislike the prominent contrasting Sperry patches that have been added to the current model. These shoes are pretty comfortable (for brand new) with one exception. There's a pressure point on the outside of the left shoe near where the lace comes up into the tongue. Loosening laces helps some but I still can only wear them for an hour or so before pain sets in. I don't recall needing a break-in period with the previous pair, but these sure need one. I might have to get them stretched. Even so, I'm pretty confident that they WILL be ok in time, and am not considering returning them as yet.

I purchased the black/white Men's Authentic Original Boat Shoe to wear to my country club. I'm normally a size 8, but I had to purchase a size 7 due to how big they run. They're comfortable, stylish, and durable. The only con about the boat shoe is that the laces are very rough and are hard to tie; softer laces would complete the shoe. All in all, it was a great buy!

I take a 9 EE in most other sizes and these aren't even close to a wide shoe go for the EEE.

I'm a longtime Topsider fan with lousy feet (wide, bunions on top of big toes, etc.). I bought these expecting the shoe last from all Topsiders is the same. Apparently not (the sole is 1/4 inch narrower than on my old pair, even though they are the same size). The shoe rubs the top of my big toes. I've had to soak the shoes in salt water and wear them wet to stretch them, which has helped somewhat. Use Zappos' returns or try a pair on in a shoe store before you throw away the box. The shoes, BTW, are handsome and well-made.

I bought these for my husband after he saw them online and he really likes them. They are a little lighter blue than pictured but still go fine with jeans, shorts, etc. The soles are smooth rubber which means they won't mark up the deck of a boat but he does trip over the toes occasionally on carpeting. They also have a hard time staying tied. He will try getting them wet, tie and then let dry. He says they are very comfy and provide good support to his feet. He started wearing them out of the box without socks and had no problems.

I love how these shoes look and I like how the left one feels but right shoe has a problem that I cannot get around. The leather insole of the started to peel back and roll on itself. As a result, the she is uncomfortable to wear for too long. This would not be as much of a problem if these shoes were old but I have only had them for a month....

My husband has very wide feet. He loves the shoes but feels the width is not a true 3EEE.

I bought these shoes for my son. He wears them all spring and summer long. They go with just about everything he wears. At first they feel a little tight but after a couple of times wearing them they fit great.

I absolutely love my A/O and have owned my current pair for nearly 5 years. I wear them everywhere day in and day out. Their classic style can be worn for all sorts of occasions. Nothing compares to a well broken in pair of topsiders that have conformed to your feet! I wish I didn't have to replace the pair I own but the stitching that connects the upper to the sole has finally given out. If only you could send them in to have them resoled or at the very least be able to purchase new heel insoles, (my heel insoles could have been replaced after the first 2 years). The only major negative aspect I have noticed, and this may just be only me, but every once and a while the eyelets on the side of the shoe closest to the other foot will snag on the eyelets of the other shoe bending it out or spinning it causing it to become a very sharp edge that will scrape and cut my opposite ankle or shoe. Typically I just fix it buy bending it back in place until it happens again. Overall I wouldn't recommend any other pair of boat shoes. P.S. Is there a chance an A/O Gold Cup style be made rather than the current ASV 2-Eye Boat Shoe style? I love the flexibility and simplicity of the A/O but would also love to see them made with the plush genuine deerskin lining.

your selction in widths needs to be expanded. My foot is not that slim but your medium width is far to wide . Great shoe and just need better size slection.

I have owned at least 10 pairs of the authentic originals alone. The Sperry Top-sider A/O is the only shoe that I will never retire. Absolutely perfect for khakis, jeans and chino shorts. The only problem I have ever had with these is that they just fit so narrow. I don't know why but they always just looked stretched out on my foot. My foot isn't very wide either. I love these shoes to death but they have never truly fit the way I wanted them too. Other than that, they are a great pair of stylish shoes.

Shoe looked and felt great. Color came off and ruined light colored socks. Don't know how long that will happen. Have not ever had that happen before, but the color was amaretto so maybe there is something peculiar to that dye.

Sperry seems to sell the idea that these are boat shoes... but really they're a lot more like dock shoes, I love these shoes to death, I'm the preppy high school student that wears khaki's and a fishing shirt to school with my Sperry's, but when i wear them fishing, the salt and everything destroys them. so note to anyone that buys these shoes to actually wear in a marine environment... prepare to buy another pair! not to say that I still dont love them, they're definitely my favorite pair of shoes I own.

I love Sperry top-sider shoes they're extremely comfortable and require no breaking in. They're stylish and they can be worn as dress shoes or casual shoes. I bought this pair for my boyfriend for Christmas. The only complaint that I have about the pair I bought is that when I ordered them online and had them shipped to my house they arrived with scratches in the leather. Fortunately, he did not mind, but I was a little bit upset about it. If you want to make sure that your shoes come in perfect condition without scratches, I recommend buying them in person.

I have always been a Sperry fan over the last 35 years, since the 70s; even before they were cast to immortality when they came out in the Preppy Handbook of the 80s. Simply put, Top-Siders are the only shoes i know of, which look equally classy worn with pants or shorts. Living in a tropical country but frequently traveling abroad, they have been a constant, versatile companion and have never let me down. My personal choice are two-tone Tops with brass eyelets. Class to the max! Next would be the deep blues with the white eyelets. Then the classic greens. Further, for me, anything without Sperry squeegee soles are not boat shoes. That totally seamless pattern that only starts to open up and look/perform better with use, over time. In fact, everything about Sperry looks better and more personal over time. The core of Sperry lies in its adherence to quality; something not commonly found especially in this day and age and something that should make Sperry even shine brighter than ever. Sperry forever... hopefully.

Great looking boat shoes - only problem is that they ripped after 2 or 3 wears. Product design flaw. I called Zappos and they sent me a brand new pair, no questions asked. Highly recommended, great customer service! I wear these shoes out on my boat.
