I tried my regular size in these, but they were too tight and narrow. Then I tried a half size larger, and they were too wide and long. So I basically am giving up on Converse. None of their shoes fit me anymore.

I usually wear a 6.5 and these were about 2 sizes tooo big. The quality of the cut on the shoe doesn't look too wonderful either. It's sad to know that the quality has gone down. I will have to look elsewhere to replace the current pair that I have. :(

These shoes are not as good as they used to be. I've been buying Jack Purcell sneakers once a year or so for quite some time, replacing the old pair when they gave out. This latest pair is CHEAP. They squeak when I walk, and Converse has removed some of the trademark JP features, such as the steel-tipped laces and embroidered logo on the tongue. If Converse thinks they can pass this off to their regular customers, they are deluding themselves.

Disappointed. The right shoe was slightly more narrow than the left, and the color of the toe shell is off white, which totally clashes with the bright white of the canvas on the rest of the shoe. I should have ordered another pair of Rod Lavers instead.
I'd also recommend:

These shoes are very shoddily made. The "banners" on the heels peel off at the corners very quickly, the laces are insanely long, and the "side walls" detached from the canvas after only one evening of wearing them. I honestly thought that I had received counterfeit shoes until I decided to actually read the reviews. If you want similar quality shoes, save yourself the money and buy a pair of AND1s or Air Walks.

This classic has been totally botched up in its new incarnation. Read other reviews on how everything from the canvas, padding, embroidered tongue and smile have changed, for the worse. Such a classic piece of Americana, ruined.

I have no idea how everyone says these are comfortable. These might be the least comfortable shoes of my life. No exaggeration. They are about a half size too small and too narrow. Thirty minutes of walking and I almost had blisters on my heel and pinky toe from rubbing against the fabric. If you're driving some place and only standing, it won't be so bad. If you're walking more than 15 minutes, it will be hell. They look fantastic though. I would return these if not for Zappos stringent return policy.

Quite possibly the most uncomfortable tennis shoe I've ever worn because they are very, very narrow, and I have a narrow foot. I sent them back.

The quality of these shoes mirrors that of the lower priced All Stas. The only difference is the footbed and the slightly different look. \r\nThe quality of the shoes is lacking, in my opinion, for a $55 shoe. The Jack Purcell logo on the back fell off within a month or so, just like the All Star logo falls off from the cheaper shoe. The sole detaches from the rubber part that is on the bottom-sides of the shoe. I\'ve had to glue them back into place. \r\nThey\'re not very good quality and I won\'t buy them again.

The service from Zappos was great. My first order and they did everything they said they would do. The Converse Jack Purcell CP was not as good as I hoped. The quality of the material they are made of is not very good. The arch support is almost non-existent and they are too low to really grip the foot. I am going to keep them because I like their style. I played tennis in the original Jack Purcells - I guess I was spoiled by the original product.

I followed your advice to go a half size bigger and the shoe turned out to be too big. The problem is I didn't realize they were too big until I broke them in. I'm a 9.5 and ordered a 10. THIS WAS A MISTAKE and I should have stuck with a 9.5. The customer service was top notch, but the size suggestion was bad advice for me.

Love my shoes -
I was extremely happy w/ my order. I placed the order on July 4th and they came around 4 days later. Will definitely order from you again.

Good looking comfortable Shoe but poor build quality -
The shoes look good and are very comfortable but I've had mine for less than two months and the heel lining is mostly torn/rubbed away and now the rubber is side is separating away from the canvas upper where the shoe bends when I walk.

Be Prepared!
These shoes are loose, heavy, and after a minute or more they start to pinch my toes and plus it has almost no grip. Also when running the heels on my feet start to feel dangerously loose. People, if looking for a good all around shoe, go with a leather or mesh running shoe. When purchasing this shoes don’t be surprised it isn’t all what people say it to be.
I'd also recommend:
Buy running shoes instead

Not a true size, blisters, no arch support -
Not pleased with these. I'm a perfect 7 1/2 mens, and these are not. Not enough arch support, and heel curves in at the top toward ankle, which is causing blisters.

Super disappointed. What I received was not “classic” Jack Purcell’s. I have purchased a pair every year for over 10 years. These were not them!! Different material that wasn’t even white! So disappointed!!

It's a mystery as to why these Converse Jack Purcells didn't fit me this time. I'm female, generally a size 6.5, but in the past have always needed a 5.5 in a sneaker. (Don't ask!)
Over the years I've bought several of this model without a hitch (even on first wear with no breaking in period) and other Jake Purcell models - all to my great delight. I've worn them and worn them and worn them...for years, until I finally had to admit they were totally worn and I needed to buy a new pair (s).
But this time, though I was advised again to buy a 5.5, I was also told that this shoe in my size was the same as the size 4 for men. What? I had always thought that the design of women's sneakers was somehow different from that of the men's. But apparently not. I wore them just one time - to mow the lawn - and by the time I was done - in about 1.5 hours of walking back and forth, both feet had blisters on the tops of my toes and sides of my baby toes. There was DEFinitely something OFF about this model this time! The whole time the top of the shoe felt too "loose" and so it was rubbing on the top of my foot with every step.Very disappointed.

These are not the same Jack Purcell's that I had previously. Nike took over and ruined them - these are cheap and I could feel where I'd be getting blisters just standing in them. So sad - they are so cute. Zaps - please carry the low profile pair they make for women. TY!

I can't believe that Nike found a way to make these shoes worse. It was bad enough when they cheapened everything about the original Jack Purcells. These are absolutely the crapiest shoes I own. I still have a few pairs of original Jack Ps and these are nothing like them. They are worth about $10, not the absurd price being charged. Never buying my favorite shoe again.

I love the look of these shoes, I've worn this style for a long time BUT this last pair literally fell apart after 7 months of wearing them about 1x a week.
It seems the quality of Converse shoes has tanked (the last two pairs have fallen apart in record time) and I'm super disappointed. I will not be buying another pair of these again which is a bummer because I love them.

A painfully cheap imitation of the original. Painted on 'smile' and so many other shortcuts. Went to the Converse website and got a much better quality version for $95.

Poor quality. One of the metal eyelets apart after wearing them 3 or 4 times.

Converse, what have you done?! These shoes are crap. You have done a disservice to your loyal customers. Hopefully you hear this and fix the quality issues! Zappos, thank you for making the return easy.
