They're clean and simple - I like these shoes for how clean and simple they are - not the most comfortable or stylish of course, but they go cleanly and work well.

Super cute - not a ton of arch support and they run a little narrow in the toe area but I get tons of compliments!

Gift for my son - My son loved his Jack Purcell's. They are just what a hip college student wanted. I was glad for the free return option. The sneakers ended up fitting perfectly, but it was reassuring to know we could have sent them back for free if need be.

Good Looking Shoe - Good looking shoe. I rally like it. It runs about .5-1.0 size larger than nice. Get a half size smaller than normal. As for comfort, it’s a shoe that has been around for 30+ years (how comfortable could it be). I bought it for looks. It's not uncomfortable but I wouldn't go play a game of basketball in them. Hope this helps.

Great shoe, wish it had more arch support though - Very good-looking and inexpensive shoe, much cleaner-looking than the Chucks. I wish it had more support thought b/c it can hurt if you're on your feet a lot.

Purcell's--Cute and Comfortable - Exactly what I expected. Slightly more supportive and comfortable than regular Converse :)

Comfy but narrow - They feel just like they did in the 60s.

Old standard - This shoe is not the shoe I remember wearing 15-20 years ago, but it is nicely updated with small touches that make it more comfortable.

Timeless classic - Iconic, simple styling. When clean could be worn with a suit. Hard to think of where I wouldn't wear these. Draw lots of comments. Retro-chic? Kitch-cool? Timeless classic.

Classic style - These were the shoes my dad wore and he had a great casual style. The shoe goes with everything.

Great shoe! The extra padding on the sides and the tongue make it a lot more comfortable than the old version of Jack Purcell. I just didn't like how the fit of this shoe is a half size bigger than marked. It makes my foot look really long. But overall, I love this shoe because it's so classic and goes with everything and anything!

35 years of Jacks - The shoe is comfortable though seems to be a bit narrower then the traditional Jacks I've been wearing for 35 years.

Great all around shoe - I love these....where I'm from no one has them so they look original. They are very comfortable and great to wear all day with no problems. My only complaints are: 1.) Being white they get dirty easy. 2) I got my correct size at first, but they were TWO sizes too big on me so I had to go down 2 sizes.

Great Classic - Great classic style. Like an upgraded Chuck Taylor shoe. A bit more comfortable and cushioned.

I've been buying and wearing Jack Pucells for decades, since I was a teenager in the '70s. I'm sad to say that these new ones are a watered-down version of the originals. They rubber bumper on front has become flimsy and dainty, as are the soles. Still nice sneakers, but not the sturdy, tom-boy sneakers I used to know and love. The fit and size (size 8) were fine.

I have always loved these shoes. They last forever for me. Just bought another pair to find that they are no longer made in the USA. The style is mostly the same but the rubber sole is a bit thinner and the canvas upper is about half as thick as they used to be. Time will tell if Converse has gone the way of Bass and Dr. Martens.

This is my third pair of Jack Purcells. Compared to the previous two they have removed many of my favorite details! Gone is the spongey insole and the contrast stitching. The "smile" doesn't quite look right either. I hope Converse will fix this in subsequent model years...the old ones were way better!

I normally wear a women's size 11, which NORMALLY translates to an EU size 41, maybe 42. I couldn't believe how large these size 11s were, and then I noticed the EU size is 43. Being a men's size to begin with, I expected them to run wide, and they do, but even with my slender foot, not too wide.

I love how Jack Purcells looks, but the toe is too narrow for me. I've had a couple of pairs, but can't wear them for long periods of time since my toes are getting totally squished. Sticking with Chuck Taylors.

I am keeping these even though they are a cheaper, less comfortable version of the original pre-Converse Jack Purcells. I had to add an insole, since there's no arch support, and even then I felt a disturbing tug of plantar fascitis after walking in them for a bit. But now that I've worn them, I guess I'll just use them as a basic spring/summer shoe though I don't think I'll be able to walk long distances in them, as I could with the original Jack Purcells. I wish Converse hadn't cheapened this shoe.

Definitely not the same as the original I’ve worn for over 15 years. All the other reviews were right about the quality going down. I changed out the shoelaces which were ridiculously long. I was also disappointed that the insoles are no longer removable. I still decided to purchase these and keep them because I never liked the all star version which I feel are too pointy.

I'm sorry to have to join the masses saying this shoe's quality has seriously declined. Background: I've been wearing Purcells for decades. And yes, I did notice the slow decline in quality over the last few years. But this latest pair (5/18) is of demonstrably lower quality than ever before. They are noticably less cushy underfoot. Noticably thinner sole. Noticably cheaper in the finish, in the way edges are glued down, in the shape of the "smile" and the toe box in general. It's a real bummer, because like so many other buyers, I considered this a go-to shoe that worked in so many outfits. It's now...just another sneaker. The end of an era, I guess. Also, I think their sizing has changed, because after so many decades, I'm now wearing a 1/2 size smaller.

Bought this with the 70s Ox and decided to return these. The shoe itself is really stunning and very attractive on the feet, but there was zero arch support and the foot bed flexed quite a bit and you can see where it would break after a few wears. Too bad, it is a really attractive shoe.
