Great classic sneaker - Shoe feels a little bigger than the same size in Chucks. More comfortable than Chucks. These look great.

Good shoe - I got the shoe the next day, and I really wanted the green, but they discontinued it! Anyway, the shoe looks great, but the back digs slightly into the back of my heel, but that's probably because I haven't broken them in yet. Overall, a cool shoe.

Love the look... This is my 4th pair of Purcell’s ~ my first non-white... The important thing to remember is that this shoe is not made for comfort. The 3rd pair I had to give away because I bought them in my regular size and my feet were thoroughly abused; lots of rubbing and blisters ~ not worth the pain. I went a half size up with this pair and so far, it's much better. I wear them purely for the look...

Great classic sneaker - I wore Jack Purcells back in 1968 in Jr. High School. Even though the look has changed slightly, they are basically the same Jack Purcells from yesteryears.

Great old classic - I wore these shoes when I was a kid, they still fit great. I have a wide foot and for a regular tennis shoe they fit great.

Great shoe - Definitely a great shoe. My only complaint is that I felt like the shoe was pretty narrow, so my toes felt a bit cramped (and my feet are really narrow!). Also, not sure I'd want to walk around in these all day... The most impressive thing to me, though, is Zappos! I ordered these shoes at around 9pm on a Thursday and received them Friday by mid afternoon with the standard shipping option!

Converse Jack Purcell. Stellar looking shoes. A little bit flat on the bottom, but I threw some insoles in these babies and it is like walking on clouds. Also, I look like a god.

Good ol' favorite - Classic Con. A bit snug for those of us with wider feet - it’s built for slim teenage feet - but a slim sock helps. Improved cushion keeps them a bit more wearable than in years past for us 46 year olds. Check out the one with wider ties and larger eyelets! Cute.

Not so comfy - I purchased these for a plane trip to Seattle and lots of walking. After a couple of days, I had blisters and raw places on my toes and upper foot. The tongue of the shoe has some bumps with sewing that rub against the foot. They also didn't provide much arch support and my back was killing me. The look is great but the comfort is not. I will try them for short periods from now on.

Get 1/2 to full size up - I've worn Chucks for decades and decided to try the JPs for a change. I wear an 8.5 in Chucks but the same size in the JPs is too tight and narrow. My little toe feels pinched in them. Otherwise they seem better-made than Chucks and there's more padding in the soles. I might try em again in a larger size.

Much improved! All I wear are converse tennis shoes, but had never tried the Jack Purcell's. What a great shoe! Much better arch support and comfort than the standard converse.

Great looking sneaker, is what it is - Got a pair of Jacks in the same size that I normally get my all-stars. These sneakers run at least a half size smaller than all-stars and are more narrow, so you'll have to compensate the size when you order. Great looking. Nice laces too.

Jack Purcell Converse low-quarter classics - It's too early for me to determine at this time [received item as Christmas gift] if the off-shoring of this product takes it completely into the tank or if product improvement activities have done some quality adjustments. My sincere wish is that the quality improved over my last pair of Purcell's. The Jack Purcell signature label at the back of this show came off [half way of course, not completely] after about two months of wear. Very shoddy workmanship throughout on this shoe. However, with this newly received pair it's so far so good. The overall quality feel and look seems much improved. The familiar lived in feel is back. I have enjoyed Converse products for many many years [I'm 75 years old] and hated to see such a fine product off-shored -- but that is the way of the world today and I do love the Converse quality. I might just add that the Zappos website is a joy to surf and to use. Keep up the good work already on your website! Thanks for the opportunity to comment.

It's just a casual low-quarter sneaker -- no fashion statement here.

Cute but uncomfortable - Very cute retro stylish shoe. Zero arch support and the back of the shoe bites into my heel. I hope that they break in and become more comfortable.

Old-school sneaks - These are not the shoes I would choose to wear for a long walk, but they are comfortable enough and the style is worth it.

Great every day tennie - I'm usually an 8 or 8 1/2 but these shoes I had to go down to a 7 which has never happened before (on other brands). It took 3 orders but finally got it right with the women's size 7. A good sturdy everyday shoe. Highly recommended but with a warning about the size.

Cool shoe to wear, but not comfortable - I ordered based on my size shoe and they run a little small. I had to send back the first time, but the second time they felt okay until I came home w/blisters. I wore band aids for a day or so and they have stretched out and my L shoe fits fine, but my right one does not. I would definitely order from Zappos again. They took the shoes back and paid for shipping and I had the other shoes the next day! Just be sure to know your shoe size. I will definitely shop here again.

You can't beat the look! I've been a fan of Chuck Taylor All Stars over the years as they have gone in and out of popularity. However, I am new to this particular shoe, so I cannot help but compare the two. These seem to run a full half size large. I returned mine for the smaller size and they were quite ample. They are also a more comfortable shoe. Also, they seem to be on the narrow side which works for me. I like them!

Great shoe, but not for all day walking - Great looking simple alternative to Chuck T's. Like all canvas shoes of this style: no arch support, and may rub and cause blisters if worn without socks. These shoes give me a blister ONLY on the little toe of my right foot! The heel may rub a little, but if worn with socks no problems, still I wear them all the time in the summer without socks, just not on the days when I'll be walking a lot.

Careful! These shoes turned the first half dozen pair of socks I wore with them blue! The inside of the shoe is blue, and somehow it bleeds into your socks.

Great look; okay comfort - You can't do any better than the style of this for a casual tennie, and it's obviously more comfortable than sandals or whatever, but don't expect it to feel like you're wearing air-soled running shoes or anything. It's pretty flat, the inside of the tongue is kind of rough, and the interior seams rub a little. They look best with those low-cut socks that you can't see above the shoe line, but I found them to be too uncomfortable with those socks -- the canvas slides around a little (the shoes aren't too big -- just a little stiff) and with no lining, it's uncomfortable rubbing against my foot.

Classic Jacks - I sided with the people who suggested ordering a half size smaller than you normally would. I would ordinarily wear 8 1/2- I got the 8 and was glad I did. I have a narrow foot, and though these feel narrow in the toes, overall they fit well and don't slip in the heel. Even the narrowness in the toe area I would describe more as "secure" than "uncomfortable". The laces are a great touch. Not just an afterthought lace, these laces harken back to the days of quality shoe making. I ordered the white ones, and they are just as sharp and beautiful as Brangelina's teeth. The sneaks work well with casual skirts, capris, and jeans... I find they fit better than the Chuck Taylor's, which I had been tempted to buy in a shoe store. If you, reader, are also tempted to buy Chuck Taylor's because they are easier to find- DON'T!! The Jack's are a better fitting sneaker, and probably more what you are looking for.
