I have had my Purcells for about 8 months and they have held up very well. Even though it hasn’t been a lengthy amount of time, here is my review of the shoes. Durability Like I said in the beginning, I have had my Purcells for about 8 months and have real no damage to them (yet). All the stitching, sole, and even the laces are holding up very well even though they have been through some harsh weather. I do have a shoe rotation therefore I do not wear them everyday which does help their longevity. I believe you would find them to last even if they are your main shoes. Sizing It terms of size, you would find them to be true to size. They fit and feel great however, they are a narrow shoe, therefore, if you have really wide feet, I would advise you to try them on first to see how they feel. Style The greatest part of the Purcells is indeed their look. I never had the old style, so, I cannot say how they compare but you would find them be very stylish. They go great with shorts, jeans, chinos, and even corduroy. You would find them to be your go to sneaker. Comfort The Purcells have a brutal break in time. Your heels and toes will have no mercy when breaking them in because of their quality build and narrow structure. However, after the break in time, they feel awesome even if you wear them without socks.

The shoes are adorable and perfect for casual wear but they do feel a little big. I ordered a 6 which is my typical size but had to wear two pairs of socks because they are a little big. Not the most comfortable shoes in the world, especially having to stand for long periods of time, but not a lot of shoes are comfortable these days.

Higher quality than Chuck Taylors, and, a bit more stylish, goes with almost any outfit. Got turned on to them by GQ.

I love these shoes! They are a great casual shoe that looks much sharper than athletic shoes. Planning to get a white pair in the spring.

These are my first pair of Jack Purcells, I usually wear All-Stars but I thought I would punch it up a bit. I bought the black and I really like them! They seem to be a little more grown-up and also have more arch support. They are a little long, I bought a woman's 8 and I probably could have gone down to a 7.5 but they're fine and I don't have to worry about my toes hitting the end if I walk a lot. Overall, cute and comfortable.

I'm very pleased with these. My only complaint is that they get a little narrow in the toe. It's not a style issue, but makes them slightly less comfortable than they could be.

I love these shoes. Most converse don't fit my feet well but these are very comfortable. I would definitely recommend these based on the fit and style.

The original! I love these Jack Purcells! Since the quality of tretorns has gone down since the 80's, I decided to resurrect another "tennie". These are substantial canvas shoe. Perhaps a big fashion don't, but I wear them with shorts, casual skirts and jeans (especially cute with boyfriend jeans) I would recommend ordering a half size smaller. I have a normal woman's foot and the Jacks are just a bit wide. I think that is due to men's sizing.

Love these shoes. I've always purchased Chuck Taylors in the past and I won't be going back. These are way more comfortable and stylish. Basically no break in period.

Just like "regular" converse (chuck taylors) but with a much more comfortable sole. I found that a 1/2 size larger than my chuck taylors are the perfect fit.

I bought these shoes for the style, and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they are! I've walked extensively in these shoes without problems. Great summer shoe!

Definitely not the "classic" Purcells, as others have stated, missing logos & iconic metal tips on laces. That should really be noted in the product description. So that costed the star. Other than that, they still have a classic look & are comfortable. For some, that may be a deal breaker.

Great shoe! I walked all over London, Madrid and Barcelona in these and they were so comfortable. Excellent purchase.

This is the second pair my boyfriend buys of this shoe. The first pair lasted through 3 years of day-to-day wear walking through the streets of Miami and even Belgium (whose streets are mostly cobblestones!). The shoe is sturdy and the rubber siding helps keep it from getting easily damaged. Highly recommend this shoe!

Shoes are better than pic's but, I have a small/wide foot so the rub my "pinky" toe(s) a little. I tried 1/2 size bigger hoping this would help; it didn't. Note: Zappos was more than helpful with my experiment! Not the shoe's fault!

Super fly shoes. Much more comfortable than Converse All-Stars. The only questionable aspect of these shoes is that the new version has the side eyelets/air vents located below the insoles, such that they are merely cosmetic and don't actually function as vents. Still nice shoes anyways.

I needed a new pair of white Jack Purcells, but was hesitant to buy after reading other reviewer's criticism of the recent changes. While I would have preferred that the navy insoles be maintained, they are still great. I actually think the rubber is better attached to the canvas than in previous years. They still look and feel great. I am not disappointed at all!

Really like these shoes. I've never had a pair of Jack Purcell's before, so I am not experiencing any difference between these shoes and other Purcells. I wear size 8.5 women's and the Men's 7/Women's 8.5 fits great. On which socks to get for these shoes, I recommend Vans Girly Ped. Pricey but much better than any other tiny socks I've tried.

I love these shoes, but they have recently gone through a design update. The toe cap now no longer goes in a straight line over the toes, it has a curve now. I contacted Zappos about it and they investigated and told me that there was a recent design update and that the website has not replaced the images. The shoes are still more comfortable than Chucks. I love Converse. I love Jack Purcells. And I love Zappos.com!

LOVE this shoe! I know there are lots of comments about sizing on this, but I wear a 7.5 Women's and the correlating size is perfect.

Have never owned these but was concerned when other reviews said this new version was not as good. Well, glad I don't know the previous version - these are great. Very comfortable. I had to go down 1/2 size from what was recommended. I wear a woman's 6.5 but needed the men's 4.5 in these.

I have been wearing Converse All Stars all of my life. I love the style and the classic look. That goes for these "Jack Purcell CP Oxfords as well. I ordered these because I was sick of All Stars and wanted something with a little different styling. Like All Stars definitely order a 1/2 size smaller that you normally wear. These are also slightly wider but for me that works. I was very happy to find that there is slight molded foam footbed and a bit of an arch as opposed to super flat All Stars. As my Chucks wear out in all their various colors, I'll be replacing them with Purcells.

Love these shoes! Fit great, look great. Zappos has supreme quality, extraordinary customer service and amazing speed in delivery. I love this company!
