Comfy and attention-getting with the lace up! These are better than I expected-- Plenty roomy and great looks, too! Perfect for tucking jeans into. The only minor problem is that the edges of the vertical slit that is in the top of the shaft (for expansion) will tend to curl in after some wearing but no biggie...Great traction on snowy days can't wait to try them on vacation. These seem to be made to last! Here's a hint: twist and pull to get them off... :0

Easy shopping - I lovvvvve the boots. I really gave some thought to this whole process after getting drenched in the fall. This shoe company makes great shoes and boots. A bit pricier than some others, but worth the price.

Perfect rain boot. I had been eyeing these boots for months online and in various catalogues. After a really rainy September, I broke down and ordered the boots. Of course there has been a dry spell but I have worn the boots anyway. I get a lot of compliments! They fit well, the tread is great. They are a little on the heavy side which means I probably won't wear them in the summer months. They are true to size.

Love The Gullwing Ballena by Tretorn - I love the boot and so do all my friends. I'm from NYC and think they are very cool. I was planning on ordering the green but chose the brown on a whim and couldn't be happier with the color. They do fit a bit roomy but I haven't worn them with heavy socks yet. The boots are comfortable and stylish...what more can I say. One more thing, this was the first time I ordered anything on line and couldn't be more impressed with Zappos courtesy, professionalism and timeliness.

Most Stylish yet Functional Rubber boot - Bought these boots in the (green/brown/teal) three weeks ago--they are wonderful, the color is glorious and can go with anything. They're perfect with skirts or tucked into trousers. Now all I need is some rain and snow but the weather's been so damn beautiful in Brooklyn My husband said "yea they look great but I bet they're going to leak right through the laces" . . . but he's wrong 'cause the design is smart-the boot is solid behind the lace (kinda of like a blind pouch) so no chance of rain pouring in About fit, they are a tad big not in length but the distance from the top of your foot to where it meets the top of the shoe I believe this is called the instep, but nothing a nice thick sock won't take care of. They're also a bit heavy but again you get used to that rather quickly. Now just please let it rain let rain let it rain I hope to have these boots for years to come

Cute, functional - Haven't really tried these out in a down-pour yet (the rain stopped as soon as the boots appeared) but so far, comfortable and cute. I was looking for a non-rainbow striped/dotted/flowered rain boot for walking the dog that had a slimmer leg profile than most of the boots I've seen in the stores. This boot slips on easily but still looks nice and trim. I am only 5'-0" so sometimes have problems with boots being too tall for me (rub against the back of my knee), but these work. As usual, quick service from Zappos.

Stylish and comfy! I love these! Great fit for my wide feet. Unlike most boots I try on, these don't make me look like a midget. The boot keeps its shape on the leg and doesn't sag near the ankles and makes my legs seem longer. All of the other rubber boots I have tried do not have the arch support these have. I feel like I can wear them for hours. I agree with the other reviews that they are hard to take off. Thank you Zappos for the quick delivery and the excellent price!

Gullwing Ballena: I got this is the green color because it reminded me of Wellingtons and they will go with almost everything casual on a rainy, muddy day. The lace up feature makes it easier to slip on, and tuck your jeans into. Plus, water can't drip in through the top opening, like regular pull on styles. I usually wear a 9 1/2-10 medium boot, and I got these in size 10. They're a little roomy, however with a thick sock they should be fine. And, FYI, these are heavy boots, and would best be suited for cold weather. As always, Zappos service was reliably fast!

Great rain boots! I just got these in brown (choosing the color was the hardest part)! I wear an 8.5-9 size shoe and have wide feet; I ordered the 39 and it seems to fit well, it is actually on the big side, but I don't mind because I want to be able to wear it with thick socks. Haven't tested them in bad weather yet, but I really like the look of them, and they seem like they will keep my feet dry and warm. Nice because I think they can be all weather rain boots, I'd wear them in a summer or winter storm.

I love these! They are extremely comfortable, very durable and stylish as well. I got the brown and am very pleased not to mention Zappos price, I was in Boston last weekend and saw these same boots in a window for $140. I felt they fit true to size- are easy to slip on & off with socks, keep your feet really dry, all around a great boot. One tip, however, don't put them on with bare feet, it took me like 20 minutes to get it off!

Really comfortable fit - This is an excellent wet weather boot. It has enough room that you can wear heavier socks and unlike other boots with a more narrow entry, I am able to fit my foot into the boot without a struggle. Goes great over jeans, slim cut pants or a little longer skirt. If one is looking for a serious rain boot that still looks stylish this is the proper boot.

I love these boots!!! They are super comfortable and look awesome - I have them in green. Now I can't wait for the weather to get cold so I can wear them outside of the house. I usually wear a size 9 shoe but had to go with a 10 (40) in this one.

Top-looks and five-star comfort - I have used my old cheap NoName boots for many years now, I bought 3 pairs when they were around, but since the last pair now is almost worn out I decided to buy the Tretorns. They are quite expensive but worth every cent - not only are they extremely comfy, but (like the NoName boots) they are chic enough to be worn with jeans or a long skirt around town. As observed by another customer, they do attract quite a few admiring glances from the opposite sex, I guess, but surely that is only an added bonus! ;-) On more than one occasion I have worn them from morning to late evening without trouble; my only complaint is that it is a shame they don't come in red...

Excellent quality and look without the Fru-Fru - I have these boots for work. They are very comfortable and offer a great deal of support. My husband wishes these were available in a men's size. I also have the Kaelins in a pink/fuschia. This way I can be elegant or rugged! I have worn these out to go shopping and have received many compliments. (A few strange looks, too!) The rubber smell is strong, but dissapates within a week. I kind of like the smell now that it has toned down a bit.

Fashion's Answer to Ugly Galoshes! These are the prettiest rain boots ever. I love them. They are so incredibly functional, and just so darn pretty! The only thing is, I have thin legs, and since the opening is made to fit a variety of sizes, it scratches the front of my calf just under the knee. This is easily solved with knee high socks worn underneath, however. Also, at first they feel funny to walk in because they are so big and rubbery and I'm used to light footwear, but I got used to them so fast and now they're really comfortable, easy to walk in, and damned if I'll EVER slip in them! They are SO waterproof and slip-proof! I swear, if I stepped on ice, the poor ice would slip! LOVE THESE BOOTS!

Elegant. I belive Tretorn has made a classic design in the same tradition as the older Sarek model. A big plus is the laze witch make the boot fit any calf at the market. I would like mensizes to be made as well. If possible make them in tha colors of the rainbow.

singin' in the rain - These are solidly made, with great traction and even have a padded insole. I normally wear a 9, so I ordered a 39 and even my wide feet have enough room for thick socks. Nothing beats these for stomping through Chicago slush! The ONLY catch is they can be tricky to take off, but a couple good tugs does the trick.

These are the best - Get these. They're better than the slip on rubber boots because you can wear them all day and they look so cool. Look great with skirts and rolled up jeans. We just got a huge snowstorm and I"ve worn then every day this week.

I feel like a true ballerina - I bought these boot to wear while collecting moths in Costa Rica because they lace up and will not easily pull of my foot when I step into mud. Boy am I happy I have them! I think the reason they run large is so that you can wear with them a heavy expedition style sock and a liner, or at least that is what I am going to do. Ladies -if you need a good cloud forest (or snow) shoe, this is it.

Function and STyle!!! I've been looking for a rainboot for some time now. Most stores in NYC seem to only carry the fashionable type of rainboot with various trendy prints. Tretorn's Ballena offers rugged functionality without sacrificing good looks. This boot is great because it isn't flat and floppy like a lot of the ones I've tried on. It's really easy to walk in this boot; it doesn't feel heavy at all. The coloring on the rim is really cute. I wear a size 8 which is a size 38. It fits just right. Give this boot a try...it's GREAT!!!

I loved these boots the minute I discovered them on Zappos.com! I needed something functional but funky for a photo shoot I was going to be in. (Look for them in Country Living Magazine next november!) The stylist and photographer loved them as well. After wearing them all day my shins were a little sore just above my ankle (I think I wore them laced too tight). They would also be really cute worn with ribbon laced in them. I highly recommend them and I look forward too rain now!
