The boots looked and felt awesome in the store. They seemed to fit a little snug, and purchasing 1/2 size larger than I usually wear gave me the fit I needed. That's where my satisfaction began to decline. Got most of the season out of them, then the basically fell apart. The top part of the boot detached at the seam from the bottom. I figured it was just me, but when I was talking about it to a friend, his wife laughed at me and said... Oh, like this? And pulled out his boots that did the exact same thing. Now I read the feedback.... I would have expected it from generics, but from a company like sorel!? The name is now something for me to avoid.

Went to wear my Sorels to the snow today, to my dismay after wearing them for about 15 minutes they felt loose when I looked at them the rubber began separating at the sew seam away from the rubber material and cracking, I have only worn these a few times as I do not get to the snow that often, I am truly bummed as I loved these boots and they still look in great shape, not sure if they can be repaired, but I am totally bummed.

Bought a pair and after one time in the snow the left toe box area developed a leak. Returned pair one. Exchanged them for pair number two. After one day in those both boots were damp in the toe box area. Big bummer as they were a warm and comfy boot. On to the Caribou boot.

The boot is GREAT unless you plan on using them more then a few times. The rubber falls apart. It cracks like it is some vintage 60 year old piece of rubber. how does quality like this make it to market. Do not buy these boots!! Read the pile of reviews and look at the photos people have posted. They are junk. And it is totally shocking that they still sell this product!! Please stop buying it!!! Sorel, put together enough moral fiber and do the right thing. Either make a product that last more then a few seasons or stop selling boots.

I bought these in February 2014 to have a pair of boots on hand for cold and snow. Took them out of the box this winter and on the second wear the upper separated from the sole on one of them from the instep all the way around the heel to the other instep. No warranty, so these boots have proved worthless.

First let me say that I absolutely LOVE Sorels! I just have an issue with one of my fave pairs, in the Conquest series. While traversing through NYC a typical commute, running up and down stairs, from platform to platform, I notice my boots were beginning to fall apart in the heel area near the molding and upper leather seams. I didn't think I was going to make it home without the sole completely tearing apart from the rest of the boot. I was mortified as I sat on the train trying to conceal my predicament and how I would tie bags around my boots should they completely come apart! Anyway, it seems as though the rubber degraded in such a way that that tore apart from the upper seam. The rest of the boot, as you can see from the photos - soles, leather and fabric upper, and gaiters are in otherwise great condition, as I am quite meticulous in taking care of my footwear. I've only worn them during the worst of winter conditions, maybe 3 dozen times, as I feel these boots were made to endure such. I am heartbroken over this since these were one of three favorite pairs Sorels. Please reply if you have rectified the issue as I have read other reviews stating the same problem. I am strongly considering replacing these for the same model BUT only if I don't have to worry about them falling apart whilst traipsing through the brutal streets of NYC. Do not buy this boot! Do not buy the special spray to make them last longer! Do yourself a favor and buy cheap boots and just replace them more often. *Very Disappointed!*

Barely wore these boots and they literally fell apart on my feet. The whole rubber separated from the leather and the soles.

boots were great for the first couple years until this last weekend. The rubber soles began cracking and shredding apart completely separating from the leather upper!

After attempting to shoe-glue for the 3rd time a wide crack between the upper and lower sections of an older pair of boots manufactured by Columbia (which is now the parent company of Sorel) I was determined to invest in a good pair of boots from the well-known top brand Sorel. I thought the Conquest boots would provide my feet many years of warmth and comfort. Unfortunately they did neither. From the onset, both boots 'buckled' and pinched the top of my feet. I thought maybe they needed to be broken in, the laced adjusted or maybe some sort of leather treatment would help - nope. After wearing them maybe 10-15 times, they began to crack at the seam where the upper leather meets the synthetic lower part of the boot - So I'm in the same situation less than a year later! I bought a pair of used *15 year old* winter boots, made in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, USA, that will last another 15 years and won't have to worry about quality when I'm in the field. Unfortunately, after much searching there is almost zero selection of non-imported winter hiking boots. So I'm sending the Conquest's back, requesting replacement with a better quality boot made domestically - or a full refund. I will update this review upon further developments.

As usual, Zappos got these boots to me within 18 hours. Amazing. Unfortunately, these boots have brass eyelets on the uppers. Who has time for that. I didn't even try them on. Come on. We all need an easy boot to use. This is a total fubar.

I used the boots only in the winter when it snowed, maybe 5 times a year. I was very surprised to see when the upper part of the boot started to crack and detach from the lower part. I sent an email and I am waiting for a reply. Hopefully I'll get a good result and they will replace them. I will post again when I get an answer.

As you have likely read in all of the other reviews about this product disintegrating, I have had the exact same experience. I bought these a few years ago and have only worn them 20 to 25 times (the soles and leather uppers are still in nearly new conditions. The issue in the rubber that secures the soles to the leather uppers, it cracked from front to back. I was thrilled when I first bought he boot to have the "Sorel" quality, now I am amazed it how shoddy the materials are in their products. I have owned several pair of boots in my life some of which I am still using after more than 20 years. At the end of the day I will make my decision on this company based on how they deal with me about this flaw in their product line.

I had my Sorel Conquest boots a long time 12 years, but did not use them much. They otherwise look like new, but the rubber attached to the leather broke from age. This is not what I expected from a Sorel boot. Sorel says that they only support a one year warranty. Obviously I expected them to last longer. The rubber sole is good, but the rubber connecting the sole to the leather is cracking and losing chunks. These boots were not stored in harsh conditions. My wife's boots purchased at the same time look good and we expect that they will last for many more years.

I have had these boots for several years with very light use; I only have worn them to shovel snow, probably 20 times. The upper brown part has entirely separated at teh seam from the lower black rubber piece, which allows the insulation to come out. Generally the boots are ruined. I have a pair of cheap Bass snow boots that I wear to work all day exclusively when it snows that I bought in the spring after I bought the Sorrel boots (they were are a clearance sale. The Bass boots were worn for exactly the same number of days, for a lot longer time each day, and still look in almost new condition. The $20 Bass boot (what I paid) is a lot better boot than the $120 Sorel boot, by far!

I've been an avid SOREL customer for a great many years, having owned several pairs of the Caribou boot. The same goes for other members of my family and friends. I had never had any problems with a SOREL product -- until recently. Several seasons ago, I "upgraded" to the Conquest boots. They are now disintegrating! Mere fingertip pressure reveals deep cracks in the rubber toe cup area extending down through to the clean while liner! These Conquest boots have been worn very little and stored clean indoors. They still look brand new and are free of any trauma. The defective Conquest boots are now on their way to SOREL for evaluation. As this problem is also similarly depicted in several other reviews, I expect SOREL to respect their customers and replace the inherently defective product. With minimal use there is simply no reason for this sort of a defect. As soon as SOREL replaces the product, I'll be eager to promptly supplement this review with a positive recommendation and provide a glowing FIVE STAR rating hailing SOREL's Customer Service decision to stand behind the quality of their product! Should SOREL fail to do so, this review shall stand on it's own. SOREL Customer Service has advised that it may take 6-8 weeks due to the busy winter season. Stay tuned for updates....

Had these boots for a few years and with very light use and good care, the rubber has cracked and the boots leak. Thought Sorel was a quality brand and did not mind the extra cost but these boots are now garbage. I have an old pair of no name KMart $15 boots that have out lasted these Sorels. At this point I would not recommend Sorel products.

These boots have seen very light use over the past two winters. They were always stored in a closet between seasons and only used on days when it was either snowing or the snow had not been cleaned up from a previous storm The Conquest boot has not held up well. The metal cleat near at the center of the laces near the toe has torn out. That I could have lived with but this year the boots began to crack and separate where the leather meets the rubber (See Pictures). AS you can see from they tread they have very little wear. Based on some of the other reviews this seems like a common problem with this boot. Once they start to crack snow becomes lodged in behind the rubber and it is only a matter of time before your feet are soaking wet and cold. I would not recommend this boot.

I bought a pair over a year ago awaiting an ice fishing trip this last week, that was on my bucket list to do. I wore them 1 day, and the outside seam along the rubber bottom and the leather split about 2" long; the threading actually pulled through the rubber. the boot felt good, not tight, I only walked about 100 yards round trip, and they just ripped. I was walking on packed ice with about 4-5 inches of light snow...so I am not sure about the durability of the leather and th rubber. I love the boot, the looks, the feel, the fit, but man the rip just made me look like a fool after bragging about the nice new boots that I had and were proud of. I was actually laughed at, and the ice trip I planned for two years, was ended before it could actually start.

The boots at first seemed to fill the bill as far as snowshoeing and trekking around the Rocky Mountains. This season I put them on for the first time and the leather separated from the rubber lower and the rubber base cracked and disintegrated. These boots were not exposed to any adverse temperatures other than normal winter temperatures and in the off season were stored in air conditioned spaces. I can only conclude that the rubber base above the sole is made of poor quality materials. These boots were only 5 years old. I would suggest that the boot is redesigned or a new manufacturing vendor is found.

Another one fell apart at stiching where leather meets rubber. Before that, I thought they were great boots except for extremely cold weather, below 0 f.

I bought this boot and after 2 winters with them the feel apart at the seams! The leather and rubber connection was not worth $135.00 at all. These ar $50.00 boot at best.
