I was simply floored today. I put on my good looking boots to do a little work around my snowing yard. After about 15 min in the yard I noticed pieces on my sole actually coming apart. I looked down and followed the little prices of sole everywhere I walked.. this was only the fourth time I wore these boots.. Beware and don't waste your money unless Sorel fixes the issues with these boots..I only wished I could upload a picture of these boots..

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Returning due to poor quality. Second time I have purchased these boots and returned them. First time was for size- ordered 11.5 and it was too tight. Returned them but then they were out of stock. Added them to the watch list and ordered ( almost a year later) size 12 when alerted by Zappos. There was a piece of hard material at the seam of the heel and insole that was poking my foot through a medium thickness wool sock. It felt like a rock in my shoe. I had concerns about quality after reading some reviews. Unfortunately, I can confirm poor craftsmanship. The fit was odd as well - the toe box felt tight, almost like I should have ordered bigger? Disappointed.

I purchased a pair of your Conquest boots from Dicks Sporting goods about 2 years ago and I loved them. They keep my feet warm, the fit is awesome and the traction is amazing. I have worn them last winter and this winter maybe a total of about 20 times as I only use them only when I snow blow, so anything over 3 inch snow. So I'm estimating high just to be fair. I never had a problem until last week. I went to lace them up to snow blow and I noticed the leather had separated from the rubber on one boot in two places along the side and at the heal. I was shocked because otherwise they still look relatively new. Now I'm stuck with snow boots with gaps where snow and water can enter the boot. So I thought I would drop you a message to let you know. Then I noticed all of the comments from people with the same problems. I understand that any warranty may have expired. But I wanted to express my concern for a company that "had" a good reputation for producing high quality boots seems to have now chosen profit over quality. I'm concerned that you would continue to sell a boot that has had this problem for many years and continues to have this problem as most recent as 2 months ago according to your website reviews. It's a shame because otherwise I really like this boot. But I can't justify spending $150.00 for a boot that could only last for a few wears. Please step up your game Sorel, because your well-earned reputation for quality is falling fast. This type of product will certainly lose your lifelong customers. I'm hoping that Sorel will step up and do something to try to keep me as a customer.

I have had these for two years used them maybe 20 times to snowblow my drive and sidewalk and they are busting at the seams. As you can see from the tread they look brand new. Now they are not water tight so yeah they maybe warm but once you step in snow or slush your foot is wet.

I've had these boots for a few years. This year the rubber began falling off in several places rendering them unusable. I read reviews on Google and many other people have had the same issue. I contacted Sorel and they said to send them in even though they were out of warranty and they'd either fix them or send me a merchandise credit/refund. I hope they stand by their word. These are expensive boots that I expected to last a lifetime.

The same separation has happen with the boots I have. Where the rubber meets the leather. Also the grommet for connecting gators has broken off. Lastly, the fabric near the draw string has ripped. These boots are only a few years old and have been kept in the origional box when stored for the winter. As I am not a boot designer I don't know how to tell you how to fix the rubber/leather separation. Maybe better grommets and the tab for pulling the boot up should have been extended to the top of the boot. Bottom line: would I recommend this boot? NO Would I recommend Sorel? Not sure, unfortunately they are not widely available in my area so trying them on to check fix and function at purchase is troublesome.

I bought a pair of Sorel Mens Conquest NM1049-265 boots a few years ago. I have used them occasionally. I loved them until this morning when the rubber portions next to the leather broke completely through on 1 boot but not the other. There is now a huge crack across the toes and another set of cracks across the back of the heel. The rubber for the other boot in the pair is still pliable.

Great style and these were great when I first got them, however after minimal use the seams literally just separated. Sorel gives you a one year warranty and unfortunately this happened after a year, to be fair I had the boots for about 3 years, however I wore them less than 10 times and treated them well as I only wore them in snow. I wore them so infrequently that the treads were virtually new on them. I submitted some photos to Sorel, understanding that the boots were out of warranty and disappointingly they didn't even have the courtesy of responding to me. $150 is a decent amount for a pair of boots and for that amount you shouldn't expect them to just come apart after a few uses and you should expect customer service to respond to such an issue even if it's to just provide you a coupon or discount on a replacement pair - something. Maybe I just had bad luck with my pair, but due to the lack of customer support I recommend you spend your money elsewhere.

Loved these boots! Warm, comfortable for hiking in deep snow. Then, after only four months of use (in an Alaskan winter), I can't wear them any more. Where the rubber 'lowers' meet the leather uppers in the heel region there is a rubber ridge. The only covering of this ridge inside the boot is a thin layer of foam, and then the inner liner. In only four months, this foam and liner had been rubbed to nothing and torn, and now I'm getting a huge blister on my heel and my socks are being worn to shreds in the heel. How much foresight does it take for a boot designer to see this coming? A strip of leather inside this rubber/upper join would have solved this. These boots were expensive, and I did love them. Not sure if a cobbler can fix this, but I'll try. Sigh.

I picked up a pair of these boots while in Montana, and I loved them. They kept my feet dry and warm. I live in California again, and we've been in a drought for several years, and I really haven't had the need to wear these boots for a few years, but the rain has finally come, I pulled the boots from my closet today and put them on, but the rubber on the boots has turned into the worst garbage imaginable. It split all the way across the side, and I don't mean it cracked, it SPLIT OPEN WIDE. I then pressed my thumb against another section and my thumb broke through the rubber. These boots were not cheap, and I doubt I got to wear them any more than 20 times. I'm very disappointed, and do not recommend them at all.

I loved the fact that these boots went on with ease and fit under jeans relatively easy, but after a year and maybe twenty times wearing them; the leather came apart from the rubber letting snow and or water run freely into boot. I hate to say it but I had to go back to an old old pair of Danners that I had for the remainder of this winter. I was hoping these Sorels would give me the same use.

I love the way these boots feel. They slip on and off easily and my feet never got cold, even on the coldest days. Unfortunately the manufacturing and material quality is VERY poor on my pair of boots. Within one month after purchase the stitching around the top (which is light and loose to begin with) began to break and fall out. I had it repaired under warranty, but was never convinced this was a good design. I always had to treat the top with such care so as not to pull out the stitching again. This winter (3rd after purchase), as I went out for my first walk of the season, the rubber cracked and slit open on both sides of one boot, right where it flexes. This has been getting progressively worse and now I have gapping holes in my "water proof" boots - what a disappointment! I had my previous boots (not Sorels) for over 25 years. These lasted only 3! I was told that Sorels were the way to go for warmth and quality. Well, this has certainly put a bad taste in my mouth. I think I'm going to try a different company for my next pair.

These boots fall apart with little to no use. Not a product I would expect from such a well known and established company.

I don't use these boots often and thus they are in great shape but we got some snow and I took them out for some active use and the rubber is coming apart from the leather...not small easy to fix issue but huge hole and no way there is a fix or easy fix for it. Again I am not a heavy user and they have seen less than 2 miles of use since I bought them. Can't believe there is no warranty for such a crazy defect. I won't buy Sorel again.

Just like all the other reviews, the rubber on my boots have cracked and the whole upper boots is coming apart from the shoe part of the boot. This was the second pair I bot and I cannot believe that Sorel's Warranty is for only 1 Year. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

As others have said, the uppers separate from the loers. Very disappointing. Boots are only 2 years old and done for. Maybe that's why they only carry a one year warranty. Loved them while they lasted, but will not be buying again.

For the first 1 year these boots were great!!!But on the second year the upper leather completely separated from the lower plastic/rubber. I only used these boots four or five times!! Unless you like to throw money away and need a good boot for only a year....these are great!

if someone is reading this to get an idea if they should buy this boot, don't! Like everyone has said previously, the leather pulls apart from the rubber. I've only owned my pair for 2 seasons about 8 times or less only to shovel my tinny drive way and they fell apart. Don't be like me and ignore the reviews just because it looks so well made and though because the the tread used is defective

Had these boots for only two seasons and the seam/ rubber is ripped, yet beyond the warranty. Had other Sorels for well of 20 years, I guess quality is not what it used to be.

Bought these boots a couple of years ago and loved them for the little it snows a deep amount in NYC. If I wear them twice a year that is a stretch. This year during the blizzard I wore them and they completely broke apart. I had to have someone go to the store to buy me a new pair of shoes to wear home. They do keep your foot dry and warm but they are obviously not durable.

These boots are great looking, many compliments. Had them for 3 years, wearing them maybe 20 times per year. The upper leather completely seperated from the lower plastic/rubber. The top of the toe area on one of the boots cracked right down the center. And believe me, I wasn't doing much more than walking in these boots. I can't imagine how long they would have lasted if I put them through any more than that, a year maybe.

With a name like Sorel I thought they produced quality boots. Boy was I wrong. This is the second season for them. I used them apprx. 4 or 5 times last year and when I went to put them on this year the top split off the bottom. Very happy that I have a pair of Uggs as well. I would not recommend these to anyone.

I wore these great LOOKING boots out in Jonas this weekend only to find that they are COMPLETELY falling apart, exactly how numerous other reviewers have experienced. I have only worn these about twenty times in the past year, and the rubber is cracked and chunking off of the boot completely at the flex point (read: there are large HOLES in the boot). Even worse, the stitched upper is COMPLETELY separating from the rubber bottom. I have owned many Sorels throughout my life growing up in the upper Midwest and always loved them, but this boot is simply junk and completely unacceptable. It truly has made me rethink the brand.

I've had my Sorel Conquest boots for approximately 5 years, however, in northern Calif we've been in a severe drought for the previous 4 years with very little rain or snow. During the drought, I only wore my boots 4 or 5 total times. This year we've had more normal weather conditions, so I wanted to use these boots to keep my feet dry and warm. When I actually began to wear them regularly, the seam on the left boot split open at the start of the third day. This was very disappointing to say the least. After my experience and upon reading other reviews on this boot, i will not recommend this product to anyone and have some reservations toward any Sorel product since they've continued to market this boot even though almost 40% of them (based on the reviews) failed within a couple of weeks of actual use.
