I originally had a Vera Bradley backpack and my things got soaked in it, and there was no padding. This backpack is soo comfortable and way cheaper than Vera Bradley's backpacks. The laptop sleeve is convienent and protective! I tell all my friends to purchase this bag !

I use this backpack for around school and any short weekend trips. I definitely recommend it to people with the same use in mind. I do wish the main compartment was a little larger for more notebook storage. But overall it holds a lot and doesn't put too much weight on my back since I am a petite size.

I just use it for school

I love this backpack. Its super light weight and has several compartments to hold whatever you might need for a light day pack or for school. I do long hikes and day trips up the California coast regularly and this has been perfect for holding an extra light jacket, some snacks, water, ipod speaker :) I love the color too, its feminine but functional.

It is on the large size for a small woman - yet does not hold that much stuff. It's a bit overbuilt (and thus not as light as it could be) for a casual day pack. I was hoping to find something a bit smaller and lighter, but still sturdy - and I could not seem to find it. I was also told that the chest strap was removable - which it is only if one cuts it off permanently.

I use it for my school supplies and I'll never buy another brand! I've had mine for 5 years and just got this for my girlfriend!

I am a college student, my spring 2016 semester I found myself carriying a heavy load with my laptop, multiple books, and notebooks. The backpack I had been using could not keep up with my load and was hurting my back. My new The North Face Jester backpack solved all of my problems with its cushioned comfort and support and perfect size for all my supplies, including an amazing laptop sleeve! I would reccomend to everyone I know.

I use this as a school backpack. It fits all my books comfortly.

I use this bag exclusively for carrying around pounds and pounds of textbooks- it replaced an older Jansport of mine, and the difference is huge. I feel so much less sore, and I like that it's very cute. Seems to be waterproof enough (I live in Seattle) but I've never really put it to the test in that respect. My macbook and papers seem to be doing fine, though!

I love this backpack. It is perfect for school, but I intend to use it for hiking as well. Super comfortable. Lots of padding on the straps and back. LOVE IT!

I have back problems so bookbags are a big deal for me. This one is great. When I first put it on, all I could feel was the shoulder straps. It's great.

Love this backpack. I love the look of it, durability, and how lightweight it is but can still hold a good amount of items. Highly recommend!

Best backpack for school great pockets for multiple things to put inside

I use this back pack for school and although it falls forward when it's full this bag is super light and comfy. I bought plain black and I really enjoy it's simplicity. I def don't looks stupid wearing it because it's not too big not does it stick out very much. You have the option of resizing it as well

I loved loved the color scheme! So simplistic yet the purple was bright. The over all structure was comfortable but there is only one large compartment and a much smaller one. Terrible if you're a student especially if you need your laptop. Needs another large compartment OR make this same color scheme available in larger backpacks like the borealis or recon.

I'm not much of a backpack person but I started school this semester and i needed something that was going to be reliable as well as comfort for me to carry my heavy books. Let me just tell you the Jester does that job. It isn't too big or too small which is perfect for me. I can put my laptop and books and still have extra room. The pads are perfect and very comfortable which is key as a college student because I am constantly walking from class to class. To give you the gist of what the Jester is it's basically the most reliable, long lasting and only backpack you'll need. Because we all know how high quality The North Face is!

This backpack is perfect for students who carry exactly what is needed, but want their backpack to not look bulky. The padding is great and I never realized how uncomfortable my previous backpack was until I started using this one. I decided to purchase my first North Face backpack because I am in my second semester of my freshman year of college and I wanted something that will last throughout the rest of my schooling. I chose the zinc grey heather/starry purple and I am very pleased with the way it looks. I considered purchasing the solid black one, but I really like the purple accents. The backpack holds everything that I need, although I am not a heavy packer when it comes to school. However, if you like more pockets and overpack, you probably should get the borealis or recon.

I got this bag in the black and blue. It's super cute. Great for school.

Loved the product, the color was a little darker then i expected more grayish, and i thought it would be more white, but besides that i love it!

Great backpack, padding is comfortable and breathable in hot weather. Lots of room and a convenient laptop sleeve. Perfect for school.

The backpack is hard to get used to because it's very a stiff. I wish there were more pockets but I guess that's because it's a jester. However the color is super cute and the backpack is awesome!!
