Perfect for school and travel! Fits the 15" MacBook Pro comfortably.

Perfect for my on the go, involved in everything, working teen.

I use the backpack for school. I can fit all 6 of my binders in the bag (they are one inch binders). Has a computer slot that looks really protective. Has two smaller zipper sections that are perfect for smaller supplies. It's an overall nice bag, and a lot of other students also have it too!

My primary uses for the Recon backpack will be for personal and professional travel. Its compact design allows for easy carry-on when flying, but is still roomy enough for a laptop computer and multiple personal items. The quality, as always with North Face, is excellent, and the pack is stylish and sporty, as well.

I used it for school, and it was great.

I use this backpack for work. I love everything about it! So many pockets and love the designs. It has a pocket for everything and is super comfortable!

Bought for first year of high school. Looking forward to a lot of good use.

Purchased for my granddaughter who is a 7th grader. Very stylish and roomy enough for all her books.

I got this backpack because I've heard rave reviews about the north face ever since I have,love there backpacks. Especially there recon all they colors are different and fit anyones personality.

Love the Recon backpack. Great for college students. I did not care for the light blue accents on this bag. They looked white.

I use this product for my schooling every day and I am in awe of the amazing variety of pockets and space that is provided by this back pack. All of the compartments keep me organized and ready to find whatever I need so I don't have to search when I need to find something quickly. I wish the main pocket was a little bigger but this is the perfect and stylish fit for my busy school lifestyle.

My son didn't realize the camo looked like glitter until he received it. Exchanged it for a different one.

I bought a recon 4 years ago when I was a freshman in high school and it was the perfect backpack. It had so much storage and was the perfect size for me and it fit my very short torso. I wanted to buy another recon because after 4 years my backpack got destroyed and it was time for a new one. I saw that they now have a lot more cute color options of the recon so I bought this product. I was very excited but unfortunately I'm very dissapointed with how much smaller this backpack was compared to my recon 4 years ago and how super long it was on my body. It is so long that it hits my butt as I walk and to prevent that I basically have to tighten the straps as high as they go which isn't comfortable on me. It is also very uncomfortable on my back and shoulders compared to my old recon. The storage space isn't horrible but compared to my last recon, it is very small. I really wish this product would have worked out for me but unfortunately it didn't. I really hope this review helps.

My daughter love bed this backpack & the cool black design & bronze zipper color. Has a special area for laptop for school & holds 2 water bottles. It is great!

I purchased this bag after years of refusing to use a backpack style bag for work. Thinking it wouldn't be professional enough, I lugged around a tote/messenger style bag and finally decided it's just too awkward and hard on my shoulders for the amount of items I need to carry around with me. I spent an embarrassing amount of time researching my options and settled on the Recon in the copper melange color, which keeps it feminine and pretty while still being functional. I used this bag on a recent vacation and it was great. The support kept the weight off my back and the shoulder straps are narrow and padded enough to keep from rubbing on my neck or digging into my shoulders. The laptop compartment is entirely separate and large (as opposed to a sleeve inside the main compartment) and has great padding. The bottom of the compartment stops just slightly higher than the bottom of the backpack to protect from drops. I also love the fleece lined phone/sunglass compartment, and my favorite is the open pocket on the front which is very convenient for items you want to easily access. It was great for park maps and other travel guides on my recent vacation. The back panel is very stiff and inflexible, like there is a piece of plastic or cardboard, which I suppose is what helps protect against back strain. I wish it was removable for casual use, but it's not a big deal. I have only one real complaint about this bag. The body of the accessories pocket protrudes into the main compartment and its depth is only halfway down the length of the bag. So the space in the top half of the main compartment has to be shared with whatever you have in the accessories pocket. It gets in the way and is super annoying. I didn't realize this until I actually used the bag, but the durability and other features make up for it and I'm still happy with it, but that's why I gave it four stars. Overall it's a great, durable bag with many positive features.

I'm a highschool student lugging around textbooks and such, and it's a great backpack but not as much room as I inticipated. Make sure your read the product description before buying. Other than space the comfort and style is wonderful!

I had this backpack for school last year and absolutely loved it! I decided to order the backpack again for this school year and was incredibly disappointed. The newly-designed backpack no longer holds the same volume as its predecessor. There is now a separate, zippered laptop pocket that takes away space from the main compartment. The main compartment has lost its roominess/ stretch factor and won't hold the same binders that fit in my old Recon. The second compartment is much shallower and would not be able to fit any type of notebook/ binder/ folder. Will be returning....
